Ethan's Pov

I was finally able to go home after spending so much freaking time at the hospital. 

But I'm still worrying over the freaking A message on my damn leg cast. Not only that, but I found out from Spencer that Melissa and Ian eloped.

Like, what the hell? 

Moving on from that, I was in my wheel chair, wearing my regular clothes. I was back at home in the living room.

The girls were all gathering my gifts that I got from people to get. While I was trying to keep the sticker on since I didn't want to see that freaking A message on it.

"Why are you taking that off?" Aria asked, walking in with the girls following behind.

"I'm not. I'm trying to keep it on. Believe me, I don't want to see the autograph that's under it" I sighed.

The girls walked over to the kitchen to set the gifts down on the counter.

"Well, we can get you another sticker" Spencer suggested.

"This time, why don't you try something mellower, LIKE 'SAVE THE PLANET'" Aria suggested.

"There were not alot of choices, ok? It was either 'humpty dumpty' or 'Jesus is coming.Look busy" Hanna said, crossing her arms.

I chuckled lightly at that and shook my head.

I sighed and slightly removed the sticker, only to groan when I saw the stupid A message.

"Oh god, it's still there" I said, quickly putting the sticker back on.

Spencer walked over to me and crouched down next to me, putting her hand on top of the sticker as she looked at me.

"Ethan, Ethan, bro, don't, ok? Don't look at that. Just look around you, cause you're safe, you're home and you're alive" Spencer softly said.

"Yeah, well I thought I was safe in my hospital room, too" I sarcastically said.

"What's going on with Noel Kahn? Is he A?Have you talked to him?" Hanna asked, looking at Aria.

"No, I avoid him. I keep telling him I'm busy. Busy freaking out everytime I look at him" Aria sighed.

"Yeah, well try being run over by him" I scoffed, rolling my eyes.

It was silent for a good few seconds before Emily broke it.

"Well, do you know who got you all these gifts? There's like a billion" Emily asked, picking up the toy dog Mona got me.

"Half the school came to visit me and dropped off those gifts. Sean, Lucas and Noel came. Mona did too. And the girls from her birthday party came too" I explained.

"Aww, sweet" Emily smiled.

"Is anyone else starving, or is it just me?" I asked.

"Well mom left you some dinner in the fridge" Spencer said, kissing my head to walk towards the fridge.

I nodded as Spencer took out a plate of lasagna and walked over to set it on the table.

"Well, why don't you eat while we go get the rest of your stuff" Aria suggested.

I nodded as they all hugged me before leaving the house to get the rest of my gifts that were still in the car.

I sighed and picked up the plate with lasagna to begin eating since I was freaking hungry as hell.

The Next Day

It was the next day and I was still in the living room, resting on the couch with my book in my hands.

Spencer was in the kitchen, eating breakfast while Mom was sitting on the couch next to me, going through a few things.

And let's just say that when mom and dad found out about Melissa and Ian eloping, they weren't at all happy.

"Honey, are you sure you're going to be fine by yourself?" Mom asked.

"Yes, mom. I'll be fine. Besides, even if something bad were to happen I have my crutches" I playfully said.

This earned a laugh from Spencer while mom fondly rolled her eyes, a smile on her face.

"Alright fine, but remember don't hesitate to call me if there's something wrong or you need something" Mom said.

"Got it" I nodded.

Spencer put her plate in the sink before walking over to us, grabbing her bag that was on the couch across from us.

"I'll bring you your homework from the teachers" Spencer said.

"Thanks sis" I smiled at her.

She smiled at me before kissing my head and walking out of the house.

I sighed and laid my head back into the pillow. I looked at mom, who was gathering her stuff to head out with Spencer.

"Are you 100% sure that you're gonna be ok?" Mom asked.

"Mom, I'm sure that I'll be fine. Nothing will happen to me. Besides, Spencer will be here after school" I said.

Mom sighed as she leaned in and kissed my forehead.

"Promise to call me if anything. And use your crutches if anything" Mom softly but sternly said.

"Promise. And I don't really need crutches to defend myself. I've got my fists" I smirked.

Mom laughed at that and shook her head. She kissed my forehead one last time before getting up from the couch.

"I love you" Mom smiled.

"Love you too, mom" I smiled.

She blew me a kiss before leaving the house, closing and locking the door behind her.

I sighed and took out my phone and went to YouTube and began watching a few videos. I'm going to be stuck here all day, might as well have fun.

Late At Night
At Hanna's House

To say I was annoyed, tired and suspicious would be an understatement.

I was annoyed because I had spent an entire freaking day at home, doing nothing but watch YouTube videos, eat the food mom left in the fridge and walk up the stairs with my crutches to use the freaking bathroom.

I was tired because I tried sleeping on the couch, but that failed since I only managed to get an hour of sleep.

And I was suspicious because after school was over, Hanna and Mona came to the house and took me to Hanna's house.

Apparently Mona was going to help me study, along with Hanna, and get me up to speed.

I mean, I can understand Hanna helping me, but not Mona.

And what made me suspicious was the fact that they took me to Hanna's house to study instead of studying at my house.

We were currently in Hanna's kitchen. Hanna stood behind me while Mona put the books on Hanna's table.

"So, where are you going after this?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at Mona.

"What are you talking about?" Mona asked.

"Well, when you and Hanna came to my house and said you'd help me study math" I said, still suspicious.

"I never said math. I said I would get you up to speed" Mona said, focusing on applying lipstick.

I rolled my eyes and looked up at a sheepish Hanna.

"And why the hell are we at your house and not mine?" I asked.

"You've been locked up in your house all day, we figured you might want to leave and get some air" Hanna said.

I didn't want to be mean about it since I was stuck at home the entire day. So I just sighed and shook my head.

"So, can we discuss Claudia Rice?" Mona asked.

"I don't know who that is" I said, confused.

"Me neither" Hanna said, just as confused as I was.

"Yes, you do.Skinny, skinny jeans. Won't wear anything unless it's tight enough to make blood come out of her ears" Mona said.

This made me and Hanna chuckle as I shook my head at her.

Then all of a sudden the smile on Mona's face disappeared and she looked a tad bit scared.

"Whoa, what was that?" Mona asked.

"What was what?" Hanna asked, confused.

"I just saw a shadow at your door" Mona said.

My eyes widened along with Hanna as she stood protectively in front of me when Mona moved towards the door.

"No wait, Mona,don't open the door. Call the police!" Hanna yelled, clearly scared.

I gently grabbed onto her hand to give her some comfort.

"Oh hush baby jane" Mona said, rolling her eyes as she made a move to open the door.

"Mona, don't!" I yelled.

I don't give a damn if I have a broken leg. I will get up from this damn wheelchair just to protect Hanna if I have to.

But when Mona opened the door, lots of people from school came into view with smiles on their faces.

"Surprise!" everyone yelled.

Me and Hanna remained shock while Sean took the opportunity to take his phone out and take a picture of my shocked face.

He chuckled and came over to ruffle my hair and side hug me.

Everyone had walked inside the house, laughing happily while carrying some pizza boxes and sodas.

Lots of people came over to hug me, shake my hand or hand me more gifts.

I smiled at all of them, thankful for the gifts.

Hanna and Sean kissed on the lips before he walked away to go talk to some of his buddies.

I looked up at Hanna and she looked down at me, I gave her an annoyed look while she looked sheepish and a bit confused.

"Did you know about this?" I asked.

"No, I didn't. Well, not really. She said we would take you to my house to study she said she invited a few other people. I didn't expect her to invite everyone from school and throw a party. Let alone at my house" Hanna explained, looking annoyed.

I rolled my eyes at that and shook my head, clearly tired and done with this.

But then to our shock and slight annoyance, we saw Noel walking in Hanna's house.

Great, just freaking great.

A Few Minutes Later

The party was meh. That's all I can say.

While I am grateful that Mona did this for me and everyone came to cheer me up and so I could have fun, I was not in the mood for partying.

I seriously just wanted to catch up on my school work and rest in bed. 

Not be dragged to Hanna's house to enjoy a party.

And I can tell Hanna was angry about the party being here at her house instead of mine.

But I can understand why Mona didn't do it there. If mom or dad found out we threw a party at the house, me and Spencer would be grounded till we're 30.

While everyone was having fun and talking to their friends, me and Hanna remained together the entire time.

I was eating some pizza when I saw Noel looking through Hanna's cupboards.

"Uh Noel, what are you doing?" Hanna asked, clearly worried and nervous.

She began leading me to Noel since she didn't want to leave my side.

There were so many people here that I probably would've bumped into someone or someone would've bumped into me.

"Please don't open that" Hanna begged.

I raised an eyebrow at her confused. Why did she sound so worried?

Noel kept on looking through the cupboards before taking out some cups and closing it.

"Jackpot!" Noel grinned at one of his buddies before walking away.

I'm not sure why but this brought back memories from the party we threw at Hanna's house.

Flashback
Nobody's Pov

Everyone was gathered at Hanna's house, partying, talking, dancing, laughing and just having a great time.

Ethan was with the girls, holding a cup of soda in his hands. He did want to drink beer but he was in the mood for something light and easy.

While he was drinking, he saw Noel and his girlfriend, Prudence Finn. Prudence was sitting on his lap while on her phone, while Noel was talking to a few of his friends.

Ethan slightly smiled at the couple. He had to admit that they were cute.

But then to his shock and confusion, Prudence shot up from Noel's lap and looked down at him, anger flashing through her eyes.

"That's it, Noel. We're over!" Prudence yelled.

She glared down at a confused and shocked Noel before scoffing and running off.

"What? Why?" Noel asked.

He stood up from his chair and looked at her retreating form, genuinely confused.

His eyes then wandered over to Ethan and the girls. He averted his eyes away from Ethan, knowing that he had nothing to do with this and this was most likely Alison and the girls doing.

When he saw the smirk on Alison's face and her phone in her hands, anger flashed through his eyes as he glared at her.

"Happy now?" Noel angrily asked before running off to find Prudence.

When he was gone the girls and Ethan looked at Alison in confusion.

"What happened?" Emily asked.

"I just put Noel Kahn back on the market" Alison smirked, putting her phone away.

"How? You broke them up?" Aria asked, shocked.

"We broke them up. Aren't you still crushing on him, Aria?" Alison asked, raising an eyebrow at her.

"I'm sorry, but what the hell did we do?" Ethan asked, confused and angry.

"What's with the tude, guys? I did it for Aria" Alison shrugged.

Ethan sighed in annoyance and shook his head, leaning on his sisters shoulder as she gently ran her hand through his hair..

"I only kill when we need food. And when I'm bored" Alison smirked.

Ethan sighed and shook his head at her. He lifted his head from his sisters shoulder and handed her his cup.

"I'll be back" Ethan said.

"Where are you going?" Alison asked.

"To go find Noel and see how he's doing after you just broke him and his girlfriend up" Ethan said, rolling his eyes before walking off.

Flashback Ends
Ethan's Pov

I looked up at Hanna to see her sighing in relief for some reason.

"You alright? You seem worried" I asked.

"I'm fine, bubs. Don't worry about it" Hanna said with a small smile, but I can tell that she was still a bit nervous.

I decided not to push it and just nod and began eating my pizza Sean gave me.

While I was eating, I saw Lucas walking over to us, picking up a cup that was on the kitchen counter.

"Buona sera" Lucas said, walking closer towards us.

"Hey, Lucas. Long time, no talk. How are you?" Hanna asked, a small smile appearing on her face.

"Hey dude, good to see you. Thanks for visiting me at the hospital and the gift you got me" I smiled.

"You're welcome, Ethan. And Hanna, I'm thirsty" Lucas said, flashing me a small smile while giving Hanna a deadpan look.

"You can have your own cup" Hanna said, pointing at a few empty cups nearby.

"So, Ethan, were you surprised?" Lucas asked, ignoring what Hanna said.

"Yeah. I still am" I nodded, taking a bite out of my pizza.

"Did you get my e-mails?" Hanna asked.

"Yeah, I got em" Lucas nodded, not looking at her as he took a sip from his drink.

Hanna was taken aback but nodded either way. I definitely sensed tension between those two and it worried me since they were slowly becoming good friends.

"Well, you know,Ethan is behind in every class, so, if you want to study with us-" Hanna started but he cut her off.

"I'm kind of off studying at the moment. Been there, done that" Lucas scoffed.

He grabbed the juice Mona made and began pouring some of it inside the cup he was holding.

"This semester, I plan to go from honor roll to toilet roll. What is this?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah, I would slow down on that.Mona made that, so" I said.

"I'm fine, dad. I'm not driving, and this isn't my first time playing margaritaville. Want some?" Lucas asked.

I shook my head while Hanna didn't say anything, looking a bit uncomfortable by the way he was asking.

Sean walked over to us and wrapped his arms around Hanna's waist from behind.

"Hanna-banana,where is that photo of you and me at the lake? You know, the one where we won the chicken fight" Sean asked, a smile on his face.

"I don't remember, Sean" Hanna said, shaking her head.

"Sure you do. It's you and Sean" Lucas said.

He then began imitating Tarzan's yelling and I would've laughed at that if Sean wasn't full on glaring at Lucas.

"Me Tarzan, you Jane Austen" Lucas said, looking at Hanna.

"You got a problem?" Sean asked.

"Nope. Mnh-Mnh. Just amusing myself" Lucas said, clearly not bothered at all by what he did.

I sighed and shook my head. This was going to be a long day.

An Hour Later

I seriously just wanted to go home and sleep. I was tired and this party was probably going to last freaking forever.

I was finishing my last slice of pizza, Hanna standing next to me as she looked at her phone, trying to forget about what happened with Lucas.

Aria then walked over to us with a small smile.

"Hey, look, would you be cool if I left a little early? Now" Aria asked, a bit nervously.

"Where are you going? Hot faculty party?" Hanna asked, her tone held some playfulness but I can see it in her eyes that she was annoyed and uncomfortable.

Aria gave her a deadpan look as I rolled my eyes.

"Aria, relax, it was a joke" I said.

"Was it?" Aria asked with a 'seriously' look.

"Aria-" Hanna started but Aria cut her off.

"No, it bothers you,me and Ezra. I can, I can tell by the way you two are looking at me" Aria said.

"I mean, come on.It's not like things aren't different now. Parties like this must feel like you're babysitting" Hanna said.

"And I'm not exactly accepting of this relationship considering he's our freaking teacher and he's older than you" I said, rolling my eyes.

Hanna nodded while Aria sighed.

"Wh--? I don't feel like that at all" Aria said.

But me or Hanna didn't buy it as we gave her 'really' looks, making her sigh in annoyance and shake her head.

"I-I never should have told you guys" Aria said, but me and Hanna shook our heads.

"No, you should have told us a long time ago, when it started" I said and Hanna nodded.

"I mean, this whole time,I thought I was helping you get over this viking boy in Iceland who, turns out, doesn't exist" Hanna said.

"Aria, I thought we were close. We tell each other everything" I said, hurt flashing through my eyes.

Aria sighed and shook her head.

"I couldn't. I swore to Ezra that he could trust me" Aria said.

"Well, we trusted you too" Hanna scoffed, shaking her head.

"Right. And now I've blown it with everyone" Aria said, clearly sad and frustrated.

A few minutes passed and I was in the kitchen with Hanna as Sean began talking about a few stories of him and Hanna.

Hanna and Emily were sitting on both of my sides as Sean told the story.

"And she's all like, and so now Hanna's on top of the bunny hill, but I had to, like, hypnotize her to get her to grab on to the tow rope" Sean explained, chuckling.

This made everyone laugh as Hanna scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Ok, I was freezing" Hanna defended.

"You were freaked" Sean chuckled.

"No, Sean, my eyelashes were cracking off" Hanna defended, once again.

"She says to me, 's-s-sean, c-can you c-carry me down, p-please?'" Sean said, intimidating Hanna freezing.

We were all laughing at that and shaking our heads while Hanna was rolling her eyes in slight annoyance. 

"And I'm like, 'babe, I'm right next to you. You'll be fine'" Sean chuckled.

"Oh, her trusty st. bernard. You can snowplow the whole way down. And if you fall, I'll drag you back to the bus and get you drunk so I can lick your face" Lucas said in a smug and mocking tone.

I glanced nervously at Hanna and Emily while Sean turned to look at Lucas, an angry look on his face.

"What did you say?" Sean asked.

"I mean, so what if they're lousy guard dogs? They're big and they're goofy, and if you can get past buckets of drool" Lucas said.

"I think hermie the hermaphrodite needs a jumbo coffee" Mona smirked, shaking her head.

"Don't call him that, Mona" I said in a stern tone.

She rolled her eyes but held up her hands in surrender.

"I mean, who does not want a big, slobbering beast who can catch a ball in the end zone?" Lucas asked, smirking.

Anger washed through Sean's face as he slammed his fist onto the kitchen counter.

"That's it!" Sean yelled.

He jumped off the kitchen counter and lunged towards Lucas.

Everyone began cheering as the two of them began fighting each other. Mona literally got up from her seat and began yelling 'fight, fight'.

"Sean! Lucas! Stop!" I yelled.

"Don't hit him! Sean! Stop!" Hanna yelled, trying to run over to them but Noel beat her to it.

He got in between the two of them and shoved them off of each other, thus making the cheering stop.

"Sean! Stop! It's like fighting a kid that needs a telethon" Noel said, restraining Sean's arm.

I sighed in relief while Hanna made her way to Lucas, grabbing his arm.

"Lucas, can I please talk to you outside?" Hanna asked.

She didn't give him time to answer and began dragging him outside so that they could talk.

"What's his deal?" someone asked.

I sighed and shook my head, rubbing my temple, feeling a damn migraine coming on.

Back At Home

Finally the party was over and me and Spencer went home.

Spencer opened the door and helped me inside since I was still in my wheelchair. She closed the door behind her as we both walked inside the house.

We heard footsteps and saw dad coming downstairs.

"Hey, dad" Spencer said.

"Hey, old man" I said with a small smirk.

"Hey, Ethan, Spence. I didn't even know you two were here. I would have watched the game downstairs with you two. Your mother makes me watch it on mute" Dad scoffed, walking into the kitchen.

I chuckled and grabbed the water bottle I left on the couch before Mona and Hanna picked me up.

"We just got home" I said and Spencer nodded.

Dad walked back over to us, smiling as he ruffled my hair and rubbed Spencer's arm.

"He's got alot of stuff, Ian" Spencer said as the three of us looked at the boxes that had Ian's stuff inside.

"Yeah. Suddenly he's, uh, everywhere, isn't he?" Dad chuckled softly as he shook his head.

I rolled my eyes at that while dad sighed.

"Well, maybe it'll inspire your sister to finish that condo so they can move in" Dad said.

Me and Spencer groaned at that as Spencer sat down on the couch.

"Dad...they might never move out of here. Melissa loves the barn" Spencer said in annoyance and I nodded.

"Yeah, well, Melissa's always needed a little nudge every once in a while. That's why your mother thinks Ian is so good for her. He's impulsive and, uh, passionate" Dad said.

"You don't agree?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I have a few other choice words I would reserve for Ian, but if I start listing them, I'll never fall asleep" Dad scoffed.

Me and Spencer laughed at that while dad chuckled.

He made a move to head upstairs before stopping and turning back around to look at us.

"Oh, um, I spoke to a friend of mine on the police force tonight. The bloodstain they found on that sweater at Toby Cavanaugh's was a positive match" Dad explained.

Me and Spencer glanced at each other before looking back at dad in shock.

"I don't think that kid's gonna be around much longer to scare either of you" Dad said.

"It's Alison's blood?" Spencer asked.

Dad nodded and I sighed, shaking my head.

I don't care what stupid evidence the police have. I still don't believe that Toby killed her. He's innocent.

"Does that mean it's done? They're not going to investigate anyone else?" I asked.

"I thought you'd be relieved" Dad said, confused.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

Spencer and the girls might be relieved about this, but I'm not because I know that Toby is innocent.

"Don't stay up too late, ok?" Dad said.

Me and Spencer nodded and with that he walked upstairs to head to his room.

I sighed and shook my head, looking up at Spencer who looked down at me.

"Mind helping me upstairs. I'm freaking tired" I said.

"Yeah, I'll get your crutches. Along with some water and your medicine" Spencer said.

I smiled at her and nodded. She smiled back and kissed my head but before she could head off she stopped, her eyes stopping at something.

I raised an eyebrow at her, confused and worried.

"Spence, are you ok?" I asked.

She didn't say anything, she just nodded towards something.

I turned around and saw Ian's golf bag. But what caught my attention was the tag on the bag.

It said 'Hilton Head South Carolina'. 

Me and Spencer looked at each other, memories of that summer when Alison came back from visiting her grandmother.

Flashback
Nobody's Pov

The girls and Ethan were all smiling when the cab pulled up and Alison opened the door and got out.

"Oh my God, I missed you guys so much!" Alison grinned.

She made her way to Ethan and hugged him tightly. Ethan chuckled before hugging his best friend back, giving her head a brotherly kiss before they pulled away.

"Why are you so tan?" Aria asked, smiling.

"How did you get so sun-kissed sitting in your grandma's apartment? I thought she was, like, bedridden in a cave" Spencer asked, smiling slightly.

"Doesn't mean I was" Alison smirked.

Ethan chuckled at that and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

"So, are we still on for tonight, guys?" Alison asked.

"Totally. Spencer and Ethan's mom said that we could use their barn" Aria smiled.

"Yeah, but there might be a major storm tonight, so I don't know if-" Hanna started but Alison cut her off.

"It's the last blowout before school starts, Han. Don't bring me down" Alison sighed, giving her an annoyed look.

Hanna's frowned and nodded, looking down.

Ethan sighed and unwrapped his arm from Alison's shoulder and walked over to Hanna, giving her shoulder a gentle squeeze.

Hanna looked up at him and smiled, thanking him.

"Hey, can one of you guys get those? My arms are really sore" Alison said.

"Yeah" Spencer nodded as her and Emily went to get her bags.

Ethan flashed Hanna a smile before walking over to help the girls with the bags.

"Why? Did you have to, like, lift your grandma and bathe her?" Hanna asked.

"Yeah, it was really disgusting" Alison scoffed.

Spencer noticed a tag on her suitcase and frowned. She tapped Ethan on the shoulder, making him look at her with raised eyebrows.

Spencer pointed at the tag, Ethan looked at it and raised an eyebrow at that.

"Did you go to Hilton Head?" Ethan asked, looking at Alison with raised eyebrows.

Alison's smile fell as she looked at him before looking down at the tag and looking back up.

"Oh, yeah, Nana had a day out, and she's really into golf. Don't ask. So, who's in charge of refreshments?" Alison asked, looking at the other girls.

"Oh, Hanna stole a bottle of Tequila" Emily smiled.

Alison looked at Hanna, impressed, while Hanna smiled brightly and nodded.

"Genius. Good job, Han. Hold onto those baggy sweaters" Alison smirked.

Hanna nodded, but her smile faltered at what Alison said. Ethan sighed at Alison's comment and made his way over to Hanna.

He wrapped her arm around her shoulder and kissed her head in a brotherly way. Hanna looked up at him and smiled, thanking him.

"Isn't Hilton Head in South Carolina? I thought your grandma lived in Georgia" Spencer asked, a suspicious look on her face.

Ethan looked at Alison, only to see an annoyed look on her face.

"It's still the South, Spence. Why so many questions?" Alison asked.

Spencer kept her mouth shut and just stared at her. Alison rolled her eyes before looking back at the girls and Ethan.

She made her way over to Ethan and Hanna and got in between them. She wrapped her arms around theirs as they began walking.

"Guys, we've got a long night ahead of us. I can't spill every detail the minute I hit the curb. Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it" Alison smiled.

The girls, minus Spencer, and Ethan laughed at that and shook their heads at her.

Alison looked at Ethan before leaning into his ear.

"When the girls leave stay behind, I need to show you something" Alison whispered.

Ethan looked at her, confused, but he was also curious about what she wanted to show him so he just nodded.

Flashback Ends
Ethan's Pov

Remembering that day also reminded me that was the same day Alison had showed me the video of Jenna and Toby.

How Jenna forced herself onto him. I could barely look at the video without wanting to find Jenna and slap her across the face.

I questioned Alison about that day, asking her where she got it but like I said she refused to tell me.

I told her that we should've taken it to the police so that Toby would be free, but Alison said she had another idea in mind and she would handle it herself. I just agreed and left it at that.

I should've asked more about it, and now I need to know.

And why would she show me the video and not the other girls?

"Spence, don't forget to turn off the yard lights, ok?" Dad yelled out to her.

I sighed and rubbed my eyes, looking up at Spencer.

"Come on, I wanna get to bed, I'm tired" I sighed.

"Yeah" Spencer nodded.
