Chapter Fifteen: Careful What You Wish 4
Ethan's Pov
After me and the girls got over our shock, we were watching the video again. Which makes no sense but they all wanted to.
"She doesn't even look scared" Spencer said.
"Did Alison ever look scared?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
We kept on watching the video, the entire thing. When Alison's hand came into view and went limp, we stopped watching.
"He pushed her, didn't he?" Aria asked.
"All that mumbling and groaning, maybe she was gripping the ground because she was-" Hanna started but Spencer cut her off.
"Looking for a weapon to defend herself?" Spencer deadpanned.
"Why are you snapping at me? I'm just trying to give you and Ethan's creepy brother an out" Hanna snapped back.
"In-law, ok. Ian is our creepy brother-in-law" I angrily said, making Spencer nod.
"Ok, whatever he is,he just married your sister, and he might be a killer" Aria said.
"This definitely proves that he was with her the night she died" Emily said, her arms crossed.
"Can we just watch this video one more time and figure out what they're saying?" Hanna asked while rewinding the video.
"No, please, I can't watch this again" Emily said, turning around and walking away.
"Yeah, Em's right. Lets just give it a rest" Aria said.
We all nodded as Aria pulled Hanna to the couch as we all walked away from the kitchen counter.
"Is anybody else freezing?" Emily asked, shivering.
"I'll make some hot chocolate" Spencer said as she walked into the kitchen.
"What is this, camp tamarack? We can't just sit around singing kumbaya. We have to hand over that video" Hanna scoffed.
"What video?" we heard Ian say.
Our heads snapped around and we saw Ian entering the room.
Me and the girls glanced at each other, worried because Spencer's laptop was still open with the video on it.
"Uh, Hanna rented tootsie, but she left it at home" I said, hoping that Ian would buy that lie.
"Oh well, you're welcome to hang with us in the barn. Your sister picked some chick flick on demand" Ian chuckled.
I rolled my eyes at that while the girls remained nervous.
"Where do we keep the popcorn?" Ian asked, looking at me and Spencer.
"That drawer" Spencer said, pointing to the drawer.
"Oh, ok" Ian nodded.
Mine and Spencer's eyes met and I gestured for her to get to her computer to close her laptop before Ian sees it.
Spencer nodded as she discreetly made her way towards the counter to close her laptop.
"Oh Emily, by the way,I've been meaning to ask you, are you ready to trade your goggles in for a field hockey stick? Yeah, we could use some speed on offense. Right, Spencer?" Ian asked.
"Mm-hmm" Spencer nodded.
"Thanks,I'm still into swimming" Emily said, a bit awkwardly.
I sighed and rolled my eyes at my twin sister slowly making her way towards her laptop to try and close it.
I just walked over to it and closed it.
I looked at Spencer who gave me a look but I just rolled my eyes.
Seriously, it's not that hard to close a laptop. I know that we're thinking Ian is a murderer, but he's not going to be suspicious of someone closing their laptop.
"Well, you wouldn't be if you saw what they skimmed out of that pool every week" Ian chuckled.
I rolled my eyes while the girls awkwardly chuckled.
Ian noticed the awkward tension and chuckled, looking at the girls a bit weirdly and confusingly.
"What's up? Did I walk into the middle of a chick flick?" Ian asked.
The girls once again just awkwardly chuckled at that, while I sighed in annoyance, wanting him to just leavve.
"Ok, I get it. No guys allowed. How come Ethan is allowed to stay?" Ian asked, in a joking way.
"Because they like me since I'm not a pervert like you" I muttered under my breath.
But I don't think I was quiet enough since Hanna heard me and she let out a small snort.
Ian sent us all small smiles before leaving the house to head back to the barn. Once he was gone, we all let out sighs of relief.
"Thank freaking lords" I said.
"God, that was close. Spencer, Ethan, how can you even sleep here, knowing that he's living in your backyard?" Aria asked.
"Easy. I keep my baseball bat in bed with me every night" I smirked.
Spencer nodded, confirming that I was telling the truth, making the girls release small chuckles.
"We have to give that tape to the police, tonight" Emily sternly said.
"No, we can't do that. How the hell are we going to explain to them how we even got it in the first place?" I asked.
The door opened again, revealing Ian, making me and the girls slightly jump.
"Forgot the salt" Ian said, walking into the kitchen.
Spencer quickly put her books on top of her laptop as Ian grabbed the salt.
He left the house and we all sighed in relief, once again. We're seriously bad at this.
The Next Day
It was the next day and we were all at school, preparing everything for the dance tomorrow.
Well, by everyone I mean the girls and the other student, me and Hanna were sitting down.
The reason why I'm sitting down is because although I'm no longer wearing a leg cast I still need to be resting it until it gets better. It hurts a few times and the last thing I need is to go to the hospital again.
I didn't want to sit down, but my sister, my best friends and almost everyone at school is making me sit down and relax while they do the work.
As much as I like relaxing, I hate that I can't do anything to help.
And well, the reason for Hanna sitting, I don't know she's probably just lazy.
"Ok, does this look even?" Aria asked.
Her and Emily were putting the sign up for the dance and they needed mine and Hanna's opinion on how it looked.
"It looks fine to me" I said, flashing both of them small smiles.
They both smiled at me before Aria looked at Hanna, who was too busy looking at her laptop.
"Earth to Hanna" Aria said, a bit annoyed.
"Sorry, what?" Hanna asked, confused as she looked up from her laptop.
I chuckled while Aria gave her an annoyed look and pointed to the banner, making Hanna look at it and nod.
"Oh, yeah, it's fine" Hanna said, going back to looking at her laptop.
"Ok, remind me,how come you're the chair of the decorating committee, and we're the ones decorating?" Aria asked.
"I can't climb up there. I'm saving my good legs for tomorrow night" Hanna smiled.
This made Aria and Emily roll their eyes, causing Hanna to glare at them.
"Hey, Ethan is sitting here too and you guys aren't complaining" Hanna said.
"May I remind you that this boy saved your ass from getting hit by a car, and got hit himself" I deadpanned.
Hanna opened her mouth to say something before closing it.
"Touche" Hanna sighed.
I chuckled at that and ruffled her hair, earning a smack to the arm by her.
Sean then walked over to us, holding a cardboard Obama.
"Hanna, the printer guy needs to be paid. Did you order six Barack's and no Michelle's?" Sean asked.
"Are you kidding? Tell him no Michelle's,no money" Hanna said, clearly annoyed.
"Uh, maybe you should tell him. He says this is what you ordered" Sean said.
"I'll be right back" Hanna said, an annoyed smile plastered on her face.
She stood up to leave before stopping as she turned back to Aria and Emily and pointed at the banner.
"Oh, and it's a little low on the left" Hanna said before turning around to leave, Sean following behind her.
"Can we just break both her legs?" Aria asked, clearly frustrated.
I chuckled lightly at that and shook my head. But I stood up and followed behind the girls when Spencer walked in.
And it's fair to say she looked nervous.
"Hey, are we still doing this at lunch?" Spencer asked.
"If by 'this' you mean taking your laptop to the police, then yes, we are" Emily nodded.
"But no one called over there, right? They don't know that we're coming" Spencer asked, still nervous.
"What's with the cold feet?" Aria asked, confused.
Me and Spencer glanced at each other and I nodded at her, telling her to tell them.
"It's Just. Me and Ethan were up all night thinking. What if this is a setup? A could've planted this video on my laptop, knowing that we would turn it in" Spencer explained.
"Guys, let's not try to second guess A. We've been there. We ended up being scared of Noel Kahn who turned out to be just a jealous freak looking for a better grade" Emily explained.
Technically they were the ones that were scared of him.
I wasn't because I had doubts about him being A. And guess what, I was right.
"Yeah, let's not forget A also tried to kill Ethan for knowing too much. We could be walking into a trap" Spencer sternly said.
"You and Ethan are already living in it" Aria said.
"No" I sighed.
This earned the girls attention as I ran my hands through my hair.
"Ian might have done other stuff, but he's not A. There's no way he'd want us knowing this video even exists. I'm not defending the creep at all, but I doubt someone like him is capable of being A. May I remind you girls that A is smart, not dumb" I explained.
Ian an annoying creep, yes.
Ian being A, hell no.
"But it does, and the police need to know what happened to Alison that night. Toby gave Alison his sweater before she saw Ian, and Toby shouldn't go to jail for a crime he didn't commit" Emily explained.
Damn, she's right.
Toby is my friend, my best friend and my brother in everything but blood.
I know he's innocent, I always knew he was innocent. And I won't allow him to go to jail for something he didn't do.
"She's right. Hey, I'll drive you to the station during lunch" Aria said, flashing my sister a small smile.
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. Spencer sighed and adjusted her bag.
A Few Hours Later
It was time for lunch and it was time for us to go to the police station to hand over the laptop that has the video.
I was with Aria, Spencer and Emily. We were walking around trying to find Hanna since we all agreed to go together.
Aria told us that her old babysitter was in town and was telling us that she was sponsoring all five of us.
"Wouldn't have even recognized her. When's the last time you saw Simone?" Emily asked.
"Huh? Oh, I don't know. It's been a while" Aria shrugged.
"Well, she must be doing pretty well if she's willing to sponsor all five of us" I said, making Spencer nod.
Aria just shrugged as we made our way towards Hanna.
"Come on, Han. You can look at 'help wanted' on the way over. I hear Rosewood P.D is hiring." Spencer said.
"Well, I do have experience with them, just the wrong kind" Hanna sighed.
"Ok, come on, we have to go.We only have 45 minutes" Emily said.
Hanna nodded and began getting rid of a few things on her laptop, but before she could close it she stopped.
"Wait, hold on. What's this?" Hanna asked.
Spencer bent down to her level to look at her laptop, only to raise her eyebrow in confusion.
"What am I looking at?" Spencer asked.
"How come it shows your music library online when your laptop's on your shoulder? Look, isn't that your playlist?" Hanna asked, pointing to her laptop.
This made me confused as I bent down to her level to see. And what I saw made me confused.
"What?" Spencer asked, now even more confused than before.
She set her bag on the table and began unzipping it to take out her laptop to see what the problem was.
However, much to her shock and our confusion, she pulled out a yearbook instead of her laptop.
"Why are you carrying a yearbook?" Aria asked.
"I'm not" Spencer said.
"Where's your laptop?" Emily asked.
"It's in my bag, except it's not" Spencer said, setting the yearbook down as she began looking through her bag.
Me and the girls glanced at each other in worry before looking back at Spencer.
"This is insane. This bag has been plastered to my side all morning" Spencer said.
"What about P.E?" Emily asked.
"It was in my gym locker, but nobody, other than Ethan, has that combo" Spencer said.
My eyes widened in realization and I groaned in complete annoyance, turning to look at my sister.
"The coaches do" I said.
This made her and the girl's eyes widened in realization and worry.
"Ian must've heard us last night" Emily said.
"Well, if he did, then he knows what's on there" Aria said.
"If he has my laptop-" Spencer started but Hanna cut her off.
"He knows what we've seen, what's on there, too" Hanna said.
I groaned in annoyance and tugged at my hair, clearly frustrated and annoyed with what Ian did.
That creep is seriously getting on my last damn nerves. I seriously don't see what Melissa sees in him.
Why the hell did she marry him? She literally could have anyone else.
The Next Day
Me and Spencer were walking down the stairs since Ian was down there making himself a sandwich.
We need to know where her laptop is and if he has it we need to get some answers out of him to figure out where he has it hidden.
And if that doesn't work, we're gonna do my plan.
That involves my fist being shoved into his face multiple times until he agrees.
As soon as we got downstairs we saw Ian cutting his sandwich in half, when he saw us he smiled.
"Oh, hey there" Ian said.
"Hey" Spencer said while I just nodded at him.
Our eyes glanced over to his bag that was on top of the counter and we walked closer towards the kitchen.
"You haven't seen my laptop anywhere, have you?" Spencer asked.
Ian looked at her with raised eyebrows which made Spencer continue.
"I've got this paper due Monday, and I can't find it anywhere" Spencer said.
"Hmm. I mean, you had it the other night, right? Weren't you, your brother and your pals looking at it?" Ian asked.
"Yeah, but she thought she brought it with her to school" I said, crossing my arms.
"But you back up your files, right?" Ian asked.
Stop dodging the damn question and tell the truth.
"Yeah. Yeah. Most of it. The important stuff" Spencer said.
"Well, I haven't seen it. Maybe it's in the barn. You both are welcome to check" Ian smiled.
And you're welcome to get the hell out of our home and never come back, you creep.
"Oh, ok" Spencer nodded.
We were both about to leave when Ian stopped us.
"Hey, listen, do either of you want half of this? We're gonna need plenty of energy for tonight" Ian said.
"We?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You're going to the dance?" Spencer asked.
"Well, they asked me to chaperone. Yeah, it was either that or spending a night in Philly with Melissa and her business school friends. Yeah, school dance felt less painful" Ian chuckled.
Why the hell did he have to agree to chaperone the dance?
Why the hell does he have to be everywhere me and my friends are?
"And Melissa is ok with that?" Spencer asked, confused.
"Well, yeah, she knows it's not my scene. I'm more comfortable here. Or at least I used to be" Ian said.
"Why? What's changed?" Spencer asked.
"Well, you know how it is, small town, people gossip. They think they know you,but they don't" Ian said.
His expression went to happy to a deadpan one, he gave the both of us pointed looks.
That bastard is lying about my sister's laptop. And I really want nothing more than to punch him in the face.
"Who exactly are we talking about here?" Spencer asked.
Ian sighed, and I can already tell he was annoyed, he looked at both of us with an angry expression.
And the worse part was that he still had the knife in his hand.
I immediately stood in front of Spencer, shielding her with my body, as she clutched onto my arm.
"Listen, Spence, Ethan, what do you say we put the past behind us? We're living under the same roof now. Let's try and be a family" Ian said.
As soon as he said that I began laughing. Both him and Spencer looked at me with confused expressions.
"Now listen here, Ian. Just because you're married to our older sister doesn't automatically mean we like you. I don't like you. Not one bit. And I've said this once and I'll continue saying it. You're not my brother. You'll never be my brother. So how about you fuck off before I do something I won't regret" I smirked.
The expression on his face was absolutely priceless.
Spencer snorted, clutching onto my arm a bit tighter as she tried to keep in her laughter.
Sending him one last smirk, I turned around and walked away to head upstairs, dragging my sister along with me.
At School
I was standing in line with Spencer and Hanna, both of them wearing nice dresses and me wearing one of my tuxedos.
We were waiting in line before me and Spencer looked at Hanna.
"You sure you wanna check your purse?" Spencer asked.
"Yeah, why not" Hanna shrugged.
"It's sloshing. What do you have in there anyway?" I asked.
"Nothing. I just brought a little beverage in case the punch bowl has no punch" Hanna said with a small smirk.
Me and Spencer looked at her with slightly shocked faces, but there were small smirks on our faces too.
"You brought a flask. Jeez, Hanna" Spencer lightly chuckled.
"At least fold your people magazine around it" I chuckled, shaking my head at her.
The three of us still waited in line and continued talking to each other before we turned around to see Ian talking to someone.
We stared at him for a few seconds before he walked away to do whatever.
We walked inside the place where we'd have to dance. We were looking at Ian before looking at each other.
"You sure your laptops in that bag?" Aria asked.
"Well, there's only one way to find out" Spencer said and I nodded.
"Why would he bring it to school when he knows that we're all gonna be here?" Hanna asked.
"Maybe he thought you or Ethan would bail our early, go home and snoop through his things" Emily said.
"Why don't you?" Hanna asked, looking at me and Spencer.
"We already did. We need the bag" I said and Spencer nodded.
"I know you're all eager to get started, but first the rules, alright? Number one, there's no stopping during the dances. Your chaperones will be walking around, making sure you're still moving" Ian explained.
Me and the girls ignored him and went back to talking.
"What if he already erased the video?" Aria asked.
"Well, then we know for sure he's hiding something, and we go to the police" Spencer said.
"With a non-video? You think they're gonna take our word for it?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, Spence, we can't just go to the police and accuse him of something when we don't have any proof" I said.
"Look, we saw what we saw. Something went down between him and Alison, and he buried her in the yard to shut her up" Spencer said.
I shook my head, making the girls look at me in confusion.
"Look, I'm not defending the creep considering I don't even like him. But we can't be sure that he's the one that killed Alison. This video might prove that she was with him that night, but we can't accuse Ian of murder. We don't know the full story" I explained.
As much as I hate the guy, I'm not going to accuse him of murder. Not yet, at least.
The girls might already be convinced that he is, but I'm unsure.
My gut is telling me that Ian is innocent, he might be guilty for other stuff, but he's not guilty for something like this.
"Now let's get this party started!" Ian yelled.
Everyone cheered and began dancing. Me and the girls looked at each other before we began dancing.
A Few Minutes Later
I'm not really sure how long we were dancing for, almost felt like an hour, but really it was just a few minutes.
I'm not sure where Emily was but Aria went to go request some music.
So right now it was just me, Hanna and Spencer dancing.
But while we were dancing we were also looking at Ian, who was greeting other people.
"We've gotta get that key" Spencer said.
The three of us looked at each other before nodding as me and Spencer walked away from Hanna.
Me and Spencer walked around for a bit, trying to find the number for Ian's jacket so we know where to get the key.
When that was done we headed back inside, where we saw Aria and walked over to her.
"Hey, he checked his jacket. It's number 62" I said.
"And the key ring is in the pocket" Spencer said.
Ian, who was talking to someone, looked over in our direction, making the three of us tense up slightly.
He flashed us a small smile and saluted at us.
The three of us glared at him and turned around, still dancing since we couldn't stop.
Spencer went to find Emily while Aria left to go get the keys from Ian's jacket. I just remained where I was, dancing.
I would've danced with someone, but I don't really have a crush on anyone let alone do I want to dance with them.
Come to think of it, I've never really dated anyone. Unlike the girls, I've just never really found that special someone. And to be honest I don't think I ever will.
"Hey, Ethan. I got them" Aria said, handing me the keys.
"Awesome, thanks" I smiled at her.
I gave her cheek a brother kiss before walking off to go find Spencer so we could get into Ian's office and get her laptop back.
When I found Spencer the two of us quietly walked through the hallways together. When we made sure nobody was here I opened the door and we both walked inside. I quietly closed the door behind me.
"Ok, come on, we need to hurry" I whispered to her.
She nodded and quickly took the keys from me and walked over to Ian's desk.
She crouched down and tried her best to open the drawers but was struggling.
I walked over to try and help her, but jumped when the door opened. I turned around, only to see that it was the new kid, Caleb Rivers, I believe.
"Need some help with that?" Caleb asked, looking at me and my sister.
Spencer picked her head up and fear washed over her eyes. She glanced up at me, making me glance down at her before we looked back at him.
"I--I was...I was just looking for-" Spencer started but he cut her off.
"A chainsaw?" Caleb sarcastically asked.
Spencer shook her head slightly and stood up, scooting closer to my side.
"I can pick that for you if you want" Caleb offered.
"Could you close that door please?" Spencer asked.
Caleb raised an eyebrow at that and opened the door wider, making me groan in annoyance.
"Feeling a draft?" Caleb asked.
"This is way too complicated for either of us to explain right now" Spencer angrily snapped, clearly fed up.
"What's complicated? I don't live in a cave,I get it" Caleb said.
"Get what?" I asked.
"The rich girls steal, the pretty girls lie,the smart girls play dumb and the dumb girls spend their days trying to be all of the above" Caleb scoffed.
Alright, I gotta admit, he did have a point there.
"How much will it cost to make you forget that you walked in here?" Spencer asked.
Caleb only smirked at that and leaned against the door, crossing his arms.
Back In The Dance room
After our encounter with Caleb me and Spencer left Ian's office and met up with Aria. The three of us were dancing while talking.
"So then we couldn't get into the drawer. None of the keys worked" Spencer said and I nodded.
"What did this kid see?Did you guys have to pay him off or something?" Aria asked.
"The kid has a name, it's Caleb. And no he wouldn't take any money, but I think he'll keep his mouth shut" I said and Spencer nodded.
"Yeah, it's not like he doesn't have plenty to hide, right?" Spencer asked.
We both looked at Aria, only to see that she wasn't paying attention to either of us, she was looking at something else.
We turned around to see she was looking at Simone who was with Ezra, both of them laughing and having a good time.
"Aria?" I asked.
"That's it. I will kick her back to New York if I have to" Aria angrily said.
She was about to march over to them, but me and Spencer quickly held her back, preventing her from doing something stupid.
"Wait, Aria, stop, before you do something you regret" Spencer said.
"Spence, Ethan, let go of me" Aria demanded.
"There are teachers here. And parents. Your parents" I said, begging her to listen and begging her to stop.
"I don't care" Aria angrily snapped at me.
She shoved me and Spencer away and marched over to Simone and Ezra.
Me and Spencer glanced at each other in worry, unsure of what to do.
But then an idea flashed over Spencer's mind and she quickly walked over to them.
I didn't know what she was doing, but I realized she stopped Aria from revealing anything by asking Mr. Fitz to dance with her.
I sighed and shook my head at that, but happy that at least Aria's relationship with Mr. Fitz wouldn't be revealed.
I quickly walked over to Aria and pulled her away from Simone and the both of us continued dancing.
A few minutes passed and Spencer and Mr. Ftiz walked away from each other as she walked over to me and Aria.
"What the hell was that about?" Aria asked.
"Saving your relationship" Spencer said.
"Yeah, Aria, five more seconds and you would've ended up on YouTube. That was a suicide mission and you know it" I sternly said.
Aria sighed but nodded, knowing that I was right.
Spencer and I stopped dancing since we weren't really in the mood, but Aria continued to dance.
My eyes wandered over to Emily, who looked completely out of it, she looked drunk as hell.
"What is going on with Emily?" I asked.
Spencer and Aria turned around to see Emily. Their eyes widened slightly before we walked over to her.
"Hey" the three of us said.
Emily stumbled and the three of us quickly held her up so she wouldn't fall.
"Whoa, ok" I said.
"Come on" Spencer said.
The three of us dragged Emily over to a nearby couch so she could sit down since her legs were about ready to give out.
"Hey, sit down" I said.
Me and Spencer sat down and dragged her down with us so she could sit too.
"Ok, I'm gonna go get you some water. Caffeinated water" Aria said before walking away to get water.
"I'm not thirsty" Emily argued.
"Thirsty or not you still need water" I argued back.
"He shouldn't be here" Emily angrily said.
We turned around to see her looking at Ian before we looked back at her.
"He's not a chaperone, he's a killer" Emily angrily spat.
"Emily" the three of us said, giving her warning looks.
"Why is Toby at home wearing a lojack, while this freak can go anywhere he wants, do whatever he wants" Emily said.
"Emily-" I started but she cut me off.
"Marry your sister" Emily said, looking at both me and Spencer.
"Ok, Emily, come with us" Spencer said, taking her hand into hers.
She picked her up from the couch but before we could drag her away, she shoved Spencer away from her and began walking towards Ian.
"What the hell is she doing?" I asked.
"Come on" Aria said.
The three of us quickly walked over to Emily, trying to stop her from doing anything stupid, but I think we were a bit too late.
"I know what you did. We all know and you're not gonna get away with it" Emily angrily spat, glaring at Ian.
Ian looked at her confused, but I can also see some anger in her eyes.
"Emily" Aria said, giving her a warning glare.
Aria quickly grabbed her by the arm and dragged her away. Spencer and I were about to follow them when Ian grabbed Spencer by the arm.
"Aria can handle that" Ian said, his tone showing nothing but seriousness.
"What are you doing?" Spencer asked, worried.
"You and I are going to dance" Ian said, glaring at her.
Spencer opened her mouth to say something but I quickly walked over to them and glared at Ian.
"You aren't going to do anything. I will be taking my sister home, thank you very much" I said.
I harshly smacked his hand, making him release his hold on my sisters arm.
I quickly pulled Spencer away from him and shoved her behind me. I heard her sigh in relief before clutching onto my arm.
"I just need to talk to her" Ian said.
"Yeah, well you're not going to, especially when she doesn't want to" I said, my glare not faltering.
"Ethan, this is between me and your sister. I have nothing against you, however your sister is a different story. So maybe you should mind your own business" Ian sternly said.
"And maybe you should get your head out of your ass and fuck off. Go anywhere near my sister or my best friends and you'll see how I am when I get angry" I angrily spat.
And with that I walked away, dragging my sister with me since I wasn't letting her be near that creep.
"Thank you so much, bro" Spencer whispered, looking up at me with a smile.
"Anything for you, sis" I whispered back, kissing her forehead.
When we got all our things we met up with Hanna and Emily outside of the school.
"Was that tree always here?" Emily asked, pointing to a nearby tree.
Me and Spencer looked at each other before sighing and shaking our heads.
"Here, take these. She's not driving" Spencer said, trying to give Hanna the keys, but Hanna shook her head.
"No, I'm not taking her home. If her mom finds out it my flask, I'm gonna be feeding the bears with Maya" Hanna said.
"Fine, I'll drive her" I said, taking the keys from my sister.
"No, I'm not going home" Emily said, her face showing that she seriously didn't want to go home.
I glanced at Spencer, who just sighed and looked at Emily.
"Just crash at our place then, ok?" Spencer said.
Emily nodded as Spencer turned to look at Hanna.
"You too. I don't wanna be home alone when Ian walks in" Spencer said.
"Hey, are you forgetting I live with you too? I'll kick his ass if he tries hurting you" I sternly said.
"I get that, but the last thing I want is for him to hurt you. I could never forgive myself if that happened" Spencer softly said.
I sighed and nodded before we both looked at Hanna.
"Ok" Hanna nodded, smiling slightly.
And with that we dragged Emily to the car so we could get home, it's been a long night.
At Home
Finally me and the girls made it back home.
Aria said she would come later, she just had to talk to Mr. Fitz about something, most likely about Simone.
Honestly never knew Aria could jealous like that.
I was sitting on the couch, looking at my phone while Hanna was putting Emily to bed. Spencer threw away the left over sandwich Ian made, I don't blame her.
We heard footsteps and turned around to see Hanna coming downstairs.
"Hey, how is she?" Spencer asked.
"Passed out.She wanted to call Maya, so I took her phone" Hanna said, walking over to sit next to me.
"Smart, that could cause some serious damage" I said.
Hanna nodded, sighing while resting her head on my shoulder. I sighed and rested my head on top of hers.
Hanna lifted her head off my shoulder and her eyes wandered over to something.
I looked at her with raised eyebrows as she glanced at me before looking at Spencer.
"Spence?" Hanna said.
Spencer looked at and I saw her removing some papers from the table.
My eyes widened in shock when I saw that Spencer's laptop was underneath all those papers.
Are you freaking kidding me?
It was here the entire time.
"Was this always sitting here?" Hanna asked.
"No" Spencer said, quickly coming over to us.
Me and Hanna scooted over so she could have space to sit. When she sat down she took her laptop and opened it.
"Ian must've put it back before the dance" I said in realization.
"Well, then why didn't either of you notice it?" Hanna asked, confused.
"He left after us" Spencer said and I nodded.
Spencer began looking at her laptop for anything but then sighed in annoyance and looked at me and Hanna.
"The video's gone" Spencer said.
"Figures" I scoffed.
"And the trash has been wiped" Spencer said.
"Surprise surprise" Hanna sarcastically said.
I groaned and tugged at my hair, clearly annoyed. But then I jumped when I heard a ringing from Spencer's laptop.
I looked at it and my eyes widened when I saw it was a picture of Alison.
"Oh, my god. It's Ali" I gasped.
"What? What is it?" Hanna asked.
Both her and Spencer looked at the picture and their eyes widened in shock. We also saw an A message on the picture.
"Watch your backs, I didn't. A" I said, reading off the message.
"That was taken in your yard the night she disappeared. She's wearing the yellow top" Hanna said.
"And look. There's a shadow right there like someone was following her" I said, pointing at the shadow in the picture.
"Spence, Ethan, do either of you know who that is?" Hanna asked.
"I don't know. I was sleeping just like you guys that night" I said.
Me and Hanna looked at Spencer, waiting for her to answer, but she shook her head.
"I have no idea" Spencer said.
Me and Hanna sighed before closing her laptop.
If the shadow is A, then that means that he or she was there that night Ali disappeared. And if the shadow isn't A, it means that someone else was there that night.
But, who?
