Shadowfen was 200 miles away from the Alpha's mansion which was apparently called The Anchorage,Elaine learnt from Amity. It was 10:00 pm and the perfect time to head out.The house was quite deserted.Austin had gone out while she was sleeping and Amity was in her room with her door shut and she could hear music blaring.Elaine hadn't seen anyone else in this house and hoped no one would realize her absence too soon.

She arranged the pillows in the bed and covered it with the comforter.After it resembled the outline of a person she locked the door and quickly pulled her hair into a ponytail , pulled the hood over her head,she grabbed her bag and her car keys then carefully opened the window.She looked outside searching for any guards.She didn't know if it was a good thing or she should be surprised of how easy it was.

After waiting for a couple of minutes to make sure no one heard the window opening, she dropped her bag first and jumped out,landing on her toes like a cat.She picked up her bag and briskly walked towards the garage to find her car.After finding it exactly where they left it, she started it and it purred to life. She pulled out keeping the lights off,careful not to alert anyone.She headed towards the woods after flashing her headlights.

Elaine picked up speed and soon the scenery was just a blur and she felt like she was flying.

'Tonight I would save Delancy no matter what!!' through the rush of adrenaline,she thought determined.

After a while when the woods got too thick and the road could no longer be seen,she had to stop the car. A bike pulled up beside her.She opened the window to find a blonde haired guy with green eyes remove his helmet.The bike she realized was parked beside her car back at the mansion,which would mean he was from the pack.

"What are you doing here?"He asked.

She sighed suppressing a growl.I don't have time to deal with him now.

"I felt a bit too surrounded. Needed some time alone, so I thought of going to the woods.You know, to clear my mind."Elaine made up,hoping he would drop it.

"Surrounded by thoughts or people?"He asked yet again.

"Both."She quickly replied.

"Its not safe in there and I'm Drake by the way."he said,"Besides why the backpack?"

Elaine shook her head. 'So not the time for introductions' she thought and pulled up the window.She got down with her backpack and started walking inside the woods with Drake hot on her heels.

"Seriously! Why are you here?"He asked but the last part of the sentence turned into a growl.

His eyes turning darker.He started looking around."Mate" was the last word he said before turning into his wolf.He ran straight into the woods.Elaine quickly pulled out a gun and followed him since he seemed to have picked up a scent.

'This could either lead me to Felix or someone working under him. Shadowfen wasn't exactly a picnic spot late at night.'She thought.She prayed atleast this time she would be right for both their sakes.

Elaine stopped chasing when she picked up a few more scents.Few turned out to be nearly 50.This would be running straight into a trap.She climbed up a tree and jumped on branches until she felt she was close enough to see them but far enough to reach.She methodically set up her rifle that she got for Christmas last year.

Drake could sense his mate close by. His wolf sped up anxious to get to her side.When a few more scents infiltrated his nose,he realized he wasn't alone.Not to mention he was heavily outnumbered.However,he charged on.His mate was his only concern and logic had long fled his mind.Soon enough the other wolves showed themselves and surrounded him.Drake stopped and looked at each one of them.

The wolves growled at him and he growled back. The other wolves finally deemed him as a foe and one of them charged at him with his claw ready to strike.He dodged and started fighting only the wolves in his path,trying to get past them.He fought relentlessly and his style was spontaneous.He didn't think he just kept striking every other wolf down.

Elaine observed the scene quietly.Drake was fighting well but she knew that it wasn't going to last long.She noticed a small cottage further behind.There were more wolves surrounding it.

"That fool", she muttered shooting down a wolf that had found an opening and was about to hit Drake.

All the wolves were taken aback and stopped moving.Drake who had a pretty good idea who had done this was clearly impressed and using the surprise element  took down the wolves while the confusion lasted.Soon they recovered and kept charging at Drake while looking out for the sniper.Elaine kept shooting the sneaky wolves while Drake battled on ground.

"You think she'll come for you ,doll?"Felix asked grinning evilly.

Delancy looked up at him and spat "Wouldn't you love that?"

The dark haired Felix laughed,"Of course I would!".His hair wasn't the only dark part of him.He enjoyed the plight of his victims more than just killing them.

"Now be a darling and don't try anything funny."He said leaving the room.

Delancy bent her head down hoping Elaine would not play this impossible game.She was sitting on the wooden floor with her hands tied behind her as well as her legs.She was alone in the room but she knew there were guards outside.Her head shot up when she heard a gunshot followed by a dying growl. Delancy knew that sound.After all it was her Christmas gift to Elaine.

'Of course she would play this game,Who am I Kidding?'She thought smiling to herself .

Determination filled her eyes as she made up a plan to help her friend save her.

'I can't be a damsel in distress forever now, can I?' she thought and took a deep breath then screamed as loud as she could.The guards came rushing in .

"Save me please!"She sobbed and looked at them through her bangs.

Delancy had long golden hair and big blue eyes.Needless to say, she could turn heads without even trying.The only problem was her height.She was just 5'3.She had an angelic voice which she often used to her benefit like now.The guards looked at each other nervously because they knew Felix wouldn't hesitate to kill them if they helped.

"Felix wouldn't want me dead either."She reasoned,guessing what they were thinking.Please just untie me.I really saw a very creepy man with a knife near that window!I don't wanna die!"She cried some more.

Elaine, on the other hand kept shooting down wolf after wolf but they kept coming.

'Just like cockroaches.' she thought getting irritated.

She knew her little hideout would be soon found out.Just then Felix stepped out. He looked directly at her while he let a slow smirk play on his lips.Everything bled red in Elaine's eyes.

Soon the tree in which Elaine was hiding got surrounded by wolves.She silently promised herself that he was would pay and jumped down with her signature guns in hand.

She headed for Felix walking past dead wolves and dodging the others without breaking eye contact with him.Felix stood aloofly with his hands in his jacket,staring back at her.

"Where is she ?"she roared once she stood before Felix.

"Rules have changed,Dear.You were supposed to come here alone." he said looking at Drake."Let's play another game, shall we? We still have some time on our hands" he continued taking a step back as more wolves moved towards her.Their growls filling the air.

"And what happens when the time is up?"Elaine asked,a small part of her already knew the answer to her question and didn't like it.

"BOOM! Look forward to Fireworks."Felix said smirking as the wolves charged at her.

Elaine groaned.'This is taking too long.There seemed to be no end to them.Drake is getting tired too.I need to rush to that cottage.That must be the place where he is hiding her along with the explosives.' she thought.

She knew that she was going to run out of bullets soon.She had to push through this charging pack of wolves.

"Only ten minutes left."Felix sang,"Hurry up if you wanna meet your lil' friend before she get roasted like a potato! Tik tok Tik tok!!"he completed as he sat on a tree swinging his legs.

When she ran out of bullets, she threw he guns aside and unsheathed her sword.She started slaying the wolves.

"I can smell her close by." she heard Drake over the howls of the dying wolves.

"I'll take care of this. Find her"she screamed back to Drake.She trusted her instinct that they were talking about the same person.

Elaine made an opening for Drake to slip out and slayed the wolves that went after him.

"Lets get down to business shall we,Felix?"She spat out bitterly after slicing down the last wolf .

"Well,I would love to. Really I would, but my dear Elaine I'm sorry ,so sorry.It ends here."He said jumping down and pulling out the controller.

"We had a deal" Elaine cried in desperation.
"You broke the rules first! You were supposed to come alone!"Felix screamed throwing the controller down.

"NO!!"She screamed running towards him.
But it was too late.Felix stepped on the controller while looking at her with a look of accomplishment.Elaine stopped dead in her tracks when an explosion went off in the direction of the cottage.

Flames burst out and danced a deadly dance behind him.Felix's face couldn't be seen due to the shadow but Elaine knew there was a satisfied smirk playing on his face.Drake couldn't make it so fast.No matter how fast he ran there would be no way he could reach the cottage on time.

Suprise was soon overcome with rage.She charged straight towards Felix with blinding speed. Felix raised his hand in alarm and a dull 'thud' was heard but she couldn't bother and ran the sword right through his chest.Felix looked down at her,eyes wide and blood slowly started trickling down from the corners of his mouth.He clearly wasn't expecting her to be this fast.She pulled out her sword and watched his limp lifeless body crumple to the ground.But what was the use? It didn't matter to her anymore who lived and who didn't.She let her sword slip through the hand and fall on the ground,the sound resonating through the forest.

She looked up as it slowly started to drizzle.She looked eerily beautiful as she stood there like a broken doll.The raindrops fell caressingly on her and slide across her face,imitating the tears she couldn't bring forth. She knew deep down that she was too late this time.
