Chapter Three: Trial Time

Seran rubbed his throat as he tried to stop Cormen from entering the closet. The wooden closet doors burst open. Revealing a tall slim figure of darkness, two slits representing eyes, one red and the other purple. A long tail with a sharp end like a spear slashed violently. A sharp toothy grin stretched across its face. Its two large horns growing and growing. Its sharp claws screamed death as the soldiers staggered away from the Demon. " Demon!" One soldier cried throwing a large spear. The Demon caught it and snapped it in half, a growl escaped their sharp teeth. The Demon roared in fury and ran through a window. The glass from the diamond patterned window shattered into a thousand pieces as the Demon fled all on fours and slowly disappeared throughout the crowded street. " GET THAT DEMON!" Cormen screamed. " And YOU!" Cormen glared at Seran pointing his finger judgingly at him. " You knew there was a demon here!" Cormen shouted at Seran. Seran just glared back at Cormen and looked away from him. " I will be taking my leave to the council Cormen." Seran walked away and vanished into the back room. Cormen gritted his teeth and stared at the shattered window. " I will get you Demon." Cormen hissed under his breath before taking long strides out of the shop to continue this Demon hunt.

" CINDIGO WAIT!" Nyctoria screamed in their mind. " Well, my dear I can't until we arrive a safe destination." Cindigo pounced and dashed to every possible exit while dodging citizens. The citizens cried and screamed at the Demon. People started running down ally ways or falling over just to get away from it. Nyctoria felt lost, scared, and confused. " Cindigo! Where are we going!" Nyctoria shouted louder, then they came across another knight with their helmet on, only revealing their mouth. They had a feminine figure, the knight had a large green glowing spear which was pointed directly at Cindigo. " This is bad!" Cindigo thought the Demon stared at the knight, its tail swaying calming. " Halt Demon! I am Siren Watermill! And I will not let you past me!" they stood a menacing pose holding the spear close to them. " Will have to avoid her until you regain most of your stamina." Cindigo looked up at some buildings and saw cloaked figures approaching. " W-Who are they!?" Nyctoria stuttered, " Mages." They displayed their hands out, blue ropes extended from their hands and wrapped themselves around the Demon. It stumbled back and roared out in anger. The Mages tugged back with all their might. Siren charge at the Demon. The darkness melted away revealing Nyctoria. Tears streaming down Nyctoria's face, Siren skitted across the ground before stopping. The spear just inches away from Nyctoria's face. " A...Child?" Siren lowered her spear before it disappeared. She kneeled down to her and removed her helmet from her face.  She had perfect tanned skin and baby blue eyes, her short blonde hair shimmered from the light.

She studied Nyctoria's features before going to her back. She placed her hand on Nyctoria's back and pushed her hand down slightly. Purple markings shone through Nyctoria's sweater. A pentagram formed with other symbols and patterns that connected to the pentagram. Nyctoria's eyes turn black with their two threatening slits, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" She roared out, the ropes tightening around her. Siren flinched back with wide eyes before speaking again. " You're possessing a child?..." Siren trailed off confused and angered. Loud footsteps echoed against the small area, men in silver armor and long spears trudged around Nyctoria, forming a circle of menacing men. Some men parted letting Cormen stomp his large feet against the stone pavement. Villagers slowly crept from the alleys of the small area. Nyctoria shot her head everywhere, her glare burning into the townspeople. Some townsfolk gasped in horror, some just looked away shielding their children's eyes. Nyctoria panted in frustration while struggling against the binding ropes which restrained her movement. Siren stood up, her eyes softening towards Nyctoria, she turned her head to glare at Cormen. " Leave them be Cormen, let the Grand's to decided their fate." Siren stood in front of Cormen. " This 'Demon' has taken possession of a child to make us rethink of killing them! We must eliminate them as soon as possible!" Cormen face was red from anger, beads of sweat dripped from his disturbing form. Siren just hissed back at him, she elbowed him out of her way before ordering orders. " Hahaha, you think me taking possession of a child is my plan to make you rethink your thoughts? Well, you've mistaken actually." Nyctoria's body went limp as guards carried the young child away, chaining her up with blue handcuffs.

Nyctoria chuckled softly, " I never chose to be with them." Nyctoria was then placed in a wooden carriage. A loud cry screamed from a man shouted outwards and smacking, and with the following, sounds of raging horses cry filled the air for a moment before the clacking of the hooves echoed the small path. Cormen glared at the cart before storming away to attended his men. Nyctoria sat in the cart, rocking, and swaying. Her blank expression plastered on her face. " Cindigo. What did you mean by 'I never choose to be with...me?'" Nyctoria questioned. Cindigo sat on the other side of the carriage. She let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her head back to the carriage wall. " You see, I never wanted to be with you. I was forced. Forced into a being I didn't want to go with..." Cindigo brought her knees to her face and buried her head in them. " You see, It all started with a war. A war which brought an agonizing pain of all kind. And for me... it was hell itself, for I a demon, experience such atrocious conditions of 'life'. But, after these terrible pains, I met your mother. She brought me to my knees..." Cindigo's eyes grew more vividly red, her aura became ravaged, the carriage shook. " THEN SHE HAD THE IDEA OF TAKING MY LOVERS SOUL! CRUSHING IT! AND HAD SUCH A THOUGHT TO SEAL ME WITHIN HER WOMB!? ARGH!!!" Cindigo slashed, Nyctoria who held to the carriage tightly, stared at Cindigo mortified at her sudden actions. Cindigo huffed and puffed as she regained herself. Cindigo sat still, unmoving. She sat back down calmly with legs folded and placed her hands on her face. " I'm sorry, my dear but I need to calm for a moment." Cindigo then evaporated and left nothing of her trail. Nyctoria sighed in disappointment and decided to sit comfortably in the carriage, even though it rocked and swayed, she found it quite relaxing. Nyctoria felt a feeling crawling up her spine, she shuddered at the thought. ' Where am I going? What are they going to do to me? Dammit, Cindigo! You left me at the most important time!' Nyctoria screamed in her mind as she pondered. ' Wait, Cindigo had a lover?' Nyctoria closed her eyes and thought. ' What happened to Cindigo's lover? What does she mean by ' Soul crushed?' was he or she human? And was it the war of Angels and Demons? Cindigo! Tell me something that makes sense!' Nyctoria was interrupted by her thoughts when a sudden drop happened, causing the carriage to go off balance, making it rock uncontrollably. " OW!" Nyctoria shouted out, she gripped her head and rubbed it.

" Damn carriage," Nyctoria mumbled as the carriage came to a halt. " Wait, are we here already?" Nyctoria peered out the iron-barred window and saw a large building, it had large white marble stone stairs which led to a huge wooden door, its handles and hinges were made of gold and emerald, the whole building seemed to be made of gold, marble, gems and other admirable decorations. The wooden door of the carriage opened, its hinges creaked. Then two large hands pulled Nyctoria out of the carriage. " Hey!" Nyctoria cried out. She met with the blinding sun, she shields herself before adjusting. Many people surrounded her with a camera like objects, flashes of lights flashed, blinding her vision. " AH! Hey!" Nyctoria covered her face while two silver armored men carried Nyctoria away. One person that looked like a normal human, but with blue hair, purple skin and pink eyes and very long nails who held a microphone, " Are you the one that killed the Angle!?" She spoke before many other people came overcrowding her, flashes made her feel angry. Nyctorias eyes turned red, She bites down on her sharp teeth scaring them away from her, before then coming back towards her. " Are you here to terrorize the town of Willows? Are you going to kill us all!?" " Are you in any similarities with Cindigo Rhadpho Agoraphobia!?" Those words struct Nyctoria hard, tints of red lingered in her brown hazel eyes. " Damn fiends!" Cindigo hissed. The large wooden doors opened, Siren stood there with a large blue spear in her hand. She had a worried expression, for she saw Nyctoria crying, She looked at her and halted the men. " I'll take it from here." The men nodded and walked off to the crowd. Nyctoria sniffed and rubbed her eyes, Siren placed a hand behind Nyctoria and pushed her onwards. The doors closed, the noise from the crowd quieted. " Hey, are you alright?" Siren asked tenderly. Nyctoria nodded and looked at the ground, a luscious red carpet traveled down the large marbled hallway. " Your crying. Means something up." Siren kneeled down to Nyctoria's level. " Are you scared of going on trial?" Nyctoria nodded, Siren sighed and looked at Nyctoria. "It's not just that is it?" Nyctoria nodded again. Siren gulped nervously and cleared her throat and spoke once again. " What is it?" Nyctoria breathed in sharply before exhaling. " T-The Angels...They wanted to k-kill me! And my b-brother.." Nyctoria bursted into tears again, Siren hugged her and rubbed her head comfortably. " Don't worry, They won't harm a child. Even if you're possessed by an unknown demon." Siren comforted Nyctoria before getting standing again.

" Come on! We better not waste time." Siren added. Nyctoria nodded as she was lead by Siren. Then they were upon a dead end. Nyctoria tilted her head and was confused. " I'll have your lawyer here in a moment." Siren walked off down the hallway. " Wait!" Siren turned and looked at Nyctoria, " Thank you, Siren..." Nyctoria smiled, Siren gently smiled and nodded before leaving. Then came from the left side of the dead end and found a thin man wearing black clothing and a white strip in the middle. He had worn a black long-sleeved blouse and a black vest, with black pants and black oxfords. He had large round spectacles and piercing black eyes, and very pale skin. His black locks of hair looked messy and untidy. " Uh so um, you're the D-Demon?" He stuttered, Nyctoria frowned and spoke, " Its Nyctoria, and I'm am the 'Demon'." Nyctoria placed quotation marks in the word Demon. The man gulped and shook. " U-Um I'm going t-to be your l-l-lawyer..." He spoke, reshifting his glasses. " Why are you stuttering?" Nyctoria asked, " W-Well! It's j-just a problem I-I h-have!" He stood straight and puffed out his chest, making him look braver. Nyctoria's eyes had the tint of red glaring in her eyes. "  W-Well I'm s-s-sorry!" Nyctoria stuttered and mocked him. He stood there insulted and upset. He just looked away with tears in his eyes. Nyctoria's eyes turned back to their innocent hazel brown orbs, " I-I'm sorry! Cindigo just doesn't like people being... them sometimes..." Nyctoria spoke apologetically. The man stood there for some time and then spoke again. " I-It's alright I-I guess... My n-name is S-Sumden Critec, m-my family i-is a big p-part of the g-government... But m-me defending a-a Demon?! T-that's s-suicide!" Sumden cried out, gripping his head in despair. Nyctoria patted his back comfortably, he sobbed while Nyctoria looked sad and uncomfortable. Then the wall began to crack open. Sumden head shot upwards with bloodshot eyes and tears streaming down his face. " WAIT WHAT! NOW!?"

Sumden began to walk in circles, a hand clasped over his mouth and under his chin, the sound of his nervous foot tapping made Nyctoria sit on the edge. He wiped away his tears and sniffed as two large men wearing black shining armor appeared, they're helmets which held an expression which looked like a horrid sickening smile, their heavy footsteps made them seem much scarier. They also held large black staff's which she presumed were their weapons, once the wall had fully opened, a bright light flashed causing blind Nyctoria's, it caused her to flinch back and cover her eyes with her arm with instinct. She groaned in discomfort and felt Sumden push her forward. She looked at him, blinking several times before adjusting to his features, he was sweating madly and began to shake. Nyctoria gulped nervously and walked towards the blinding light. Then a large room appeared before her, the walls where an emerald green, many jewels, and gold littered all over the room, and many bookshelves stood on the sides, looking intimidating with their knowledge and secrets. A large desk stood in front in the center of the room, then to her sides where seats, they were made from a delicate silver which shone against the blazing light that shone from a high chandelier, Nyctoria saw two smaller desk's, Sumden motioned Nyctoria to the left side where one desk was, she nodded and walked with him to it. Two seats were neatly prepared for them, Nyctoria sat down on one chair while Sumden sat on the other. Then large droplets of water dripped at the large desk, the water slowly molded itself into a man, he had a well-tamed beard which wasn't too long or too short that was an iron grey, he wore a black tuxedo and wore a blue bowtie. His black oxfords tapped impatiently against wooden floorboards. Nyctoria gulped before hearing the wall open up again, another man that looked like Sumden stepped through the wall, but except, he was opposite of Sumden, his clothing was white and he had neat and tidy blonde hair, his eyes were a baby blue. He had rounded spectacles and held a book in his hand, which had an odd leather covering.

He turned his head and saw us, he smirked and held his hand in front of his mouth like as if he was holding in laughter, he turned and walked to the other desk, he turned his head and motioned some to come out, the heavy footsteps echoed, Nyctoria's eyes flashed red when she saw Cormen walk his way next to the other Nyctoria presumed the lawyer. " Isn't defending the demon treason?" The man snickered, " I was a-assigned for this N-Numden!" Sumden stuttered out before turning into a shaking mess. Cormen glared at Nyctoria, Nyctoria turned and looked at him before coldly glaring back at him, she smirked and looked forwards, " I summon now the abservers." The man spoke, He raised his hand, Ncytoria gulped before a bright flash shone from behind her. She let out one last breath before the trial began.
