I'm Sorry For Everything
The next day, Frodo visited his Uncle Bilbo. He was about to pass on some special gifts to him that were going to help him on the long trek to Mordor. One of these gifts, was a sword. An elvish sword, which Bilbo named Sting. "It's so light." Said Frodo, as Bilbo handed him the sword. "The blade glows blue when orcs are close. It's times like this, my lad, where you have to be extra careful. Here's a pretty thing...."
Bilbo lifted a shiny white mail from a box. "Mithril. It's as light as a feather but hard as dragon skin. Let me see you put it on. Come on."
Frodo unbuttoned his waistcoat and was about to put the mail on. Bilbo noticed the One Ring dangling from its chain around Frodo's neck.
"Oh." He murmured. "My old ring. I would very much like to..to hold it again. One last time." The desire for the Ring quickly grew in the old hobbit's heart. Frodo would not let him have it. I stepped into the room to find Frodo and Bilbo. This is what I saw:
I grew very frightened and I hid behind Frodo. I felt bad for him and I also felt bad for Bilbo as well. "I am sorry that I brought this upon you, my boy. I'm sorry that you must carry this burden. I'm sorry about your daughter. I'm sorry that I have said all of those hurtful things to her. I'm sorry for everything."
Frodo couldn't stand seeing his poor Uncle like this. He knew that it wasn't his fault and he quickly forgave him. He rested his hand on Bilbo's shoulder, trying to comfort him.
"It isn't your fault, Bilbo. It's not your fault." Bilbo looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "I've always treated you good. I've always loved you. Now, I'm going to lose you. I felt foolish when I told you that I didn't love Brianna because she was a mortal. I should have believed you."
"Bilbo, it's alright. Would you like to talk to her? Would you like to talk with Brianna? I'm sure she will forgive you." I walked over to the old hobbit. "Bilbo, it was just a misunderstanding. You were looking out for Frodo because you cared about him. I know that Frodo would do the same for you and I."
"You know, dear...." Said Bilbo, who was holding my hands tightly. "You are a lucky girl. You must be happy to have someone that cares deeply about you. " "I am happy." I smiled. "I'm happy, too." Said Frodo. "I'm happy, too."
