(Track 01-Concerning Hobbits)

It was late in the afternoon. Pippin and I were wandering about in Farmer Maggots crops. The sky was filled with dark grey clouds. "Looks like a storm is headed our way. We should head back before we get stuck in the rain." A raindrop hit me smack dab in the forehead, sending shivers down my back.
"We can't go back. Not now." "Pippin, this is a very bad idea. If Farmer Maggot catches us were done for!"

"Why do you suspect that he'll find us?" "Don't you remember what happened last time when you tried to take that basket of apples from him? It's not nice to steal from people, Pippin." "Stealing? No, I wasn't stealing. I was simply borrowing from him."

I shook my head in despair. "You borrowed his apples and you ate them?" "I was hungry." Replied Pippin. "Look, over there!" He pointed over to a bucket of fresh milk, a large basket of blueberries and strawberries and a bag of potatoes, carrots and cabbages. "Come on!" Said Pippin, yanking me by the arm.

When we arrived at the farm, I could spot something moving in the distance. "Pippin, I think we should leave." I suggested. "No, I think we can make it. Here is the plan. You go over there and take the basket of berries and the bucket of milk and I'll take the vegetables. Ready? One, Two, Three, Go!"

I quickly ran over to the bucket of milk, trying my best not to get caught. The bucket of milk was standing on top of a large wooden stool. I snatched the small tin bucket and quietly tiptoed towards the basket.

Pippin was struggling to lift the bag of vegetables and fell over with a loud thud. "Pippin! Are you alright?" I rushed over to him with the pail of milk. "That was heavier than I expected!" Said Pippin, who was rubbing his sore arms. "Did you get the berries?" I shook my head. "I'm sorry, Pippin. I'll go back and get them."

I ran back to the farm in a hurry. The milk in the bucket sloshed around, spilling milk all over the place. "Uh, oh." I heard the sound of Farmer Maggots dogs barking loudly in the distance. "Oi! Who's out 'ere?!" Shouted Farmer Maggot.

Pippin had snuck up behind me and startled me to death. "What's happening? Where are the berries?" He blurted out.

A large shadow appeared over the side of the barn. "Shh! It's Farmer Maggot! Come on, Pippin! Let's make a break for it!" "What about the...." "Forget about it. We have no time. Let's get out of here."

As the two of us dashed through the field, the milk spilled out of the bucket, leaving a trail of the white liquid. "I think we can make it! Hurry!" Exclaimed Pippin.

I dropped the bucket of milk, leaving a huge puddle. "The milk!" cried Pippin. "Forget about it! There's no time!"

I felt someone bump into me. It was Frodo. "Pippin? Brianna? What are you two doing out here?" He asked. "I'm sorry, Frodo. I had nothing to do with it. It was Pippin's idea! He talked me into this!" "Pippin, what on earth were you doing?" "We were in Farmer Maggots' field and..."

Frodo shook his head. "Pippin, you promised me that you wouldn't cause anymore trouble. What do you have to say for yourself? I cannot believe this! You should have known better."
Frodo reached for my hand. "I didn't do anything! I swear!" "What is that all over yourself?"

Frodo wiped at the dirt that had covered my my dress. "You're a mess. Oh my goodness. Let's go home and get you cleaned up." "What about me?" Asked Pippin. "As for you, we're going to have a chat with Merry about your little incident." "Please don't tell Merry! Please, Frodo! I promise I won't do it again! I promise!" "Pippin." "Please, Frodo!" Begged Pippin, holding onto Frodo's arm tightly.

"Alright, Pip. I won't tell Merry. Only if you promise me that you won't get into any more trouble. Do you understand?" Pippin nodded his head gingerly. "Alright then. Let's go, you two." Said Frodo, patting me on the back.

During the evening, Merry had arrived at Bag End to pick up Pippin. "It's time to go home, Pip." "Can't I stay for a little bit longer? Please, Merry?" "I'm afraid not. It's getting late. Come on, let's go home." "Wait, Can I say goodbye to Brianna?" "Oh, Alright. Go on ahead."

Pippin walked shamefully towards me. "I'm sorry about what happened. I hope you'll forgive me for my foolishness." "I forgive you, Pippin." "I have something for you, Brianna. I made it myself."

Pippin reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a piece of crumpled paper. "I drew this myself." He handed the drawing over to me. I slowly unfolded the sheet of paper. "What is it?" I asked. "A butterfly." "Oh. It's very....interesting. Thank you, Pippin." "You don't like it?" "No, No, No. I do. I do."

"I knew you would!" Pippin bid me farewell and wrapped his arms around me, giving me a goodbye hug. "Goodnight, Brianna." "Goodnight, Pippin." I waved to Merry and Pippin, bidding them goodbye.

"Did you have fun with Pippin today?" Asked Frodo, leading me to my bedroom. "I guess." " I've been noticing that he's been spending quite a lot of time with you." "Is that a bad thing?" "No, of course not." "Frodo, can I ask you something? You know how Pippin and I are best friends, right?" "Yes?" "I've come to realize something. I think that he might be....you know....in love with me."
A smirk fell upon Frodo's face. "You have quite an imagination, dear." "No, I really do think that he might be in love with me! I swear that he is! I just know it!" "You do?" "Yeah! I mean, he's spending a lot of time with me, he gives me gifts....." "That's very thoughtful of him." "Frodo, would you be fine if Pippin was in love with me?" "Of course, dearest. Just be careful, though.

Pippin can be a bit unpredictable." "I'll be fine." "If you say so." Frodo chuckled. "Come, Let's get you to bed, little one. You need sleep."

I honestly thought that Frodo would be upset at me. I'm the only thing he has left. He cares about me so much. Why was Frodo acting so calm about it? Pippin can be a bit of a troublemaker but he really isn't all that bad or anything.

I think he's a bit misunderstood, wouldn't you agree? On the other hand, I'm a bit afraid of falling in love because I feel like I would be rejected and Pippin wouldn't listen to me. Maybe I'm just over thinking this whole "love" thing.

Suddenly, I grew very drowsy and fatigued. I let out a loud yawn. I grew tired of walking and I felt as if my feet were going to fall off.

"Can you carry me to my bed? Please, Frodo? Please?" I groaned. "Oh, I suppose so." I hopped up and Frodo lifted me off of the ground. I clutched onto his neck and rested my head underneath his soft, dark curly hair. "I love you, Frodo. I don't ever want to lose you. Ever." "I love you, too, my little buttercup." Whispered Frodo, kissing me on the cheek and forehead. "I love you, too."

After Frodo laid me down in my bed, he asked me if I wanted him to read me a bedtime story. "Would you like to hear the story about Bilbo and the dwarves?" "Yes, please. Thank you, Frodo." "You're quite welcome." He said, ruffling my short, brown, somewhat curly hair.

I snuggled comfortably in the bed sheets, cuddling Sweet Pea in my arms. I was transfixed by the sound of Frodo's soothing voice as he told me the story. His voice was soft and kind and nurturing.

It might seem like he's trying to baby me and all but I think he just wants what's best for me. I never want to lose Frodo because he's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
