He just didn't improve it further, as he was saving it for improvements to his ship, the Crimson Pearl. With the basics being somewhat elevated at the moment.

He was planning to add some things to the ship itself, but he wasn't sure what to do. So he put that aside for now.

But when he was about to dock at the port of Taki Island, he realized that the city was being attacked by a pirate band.

Nero: *Sigh* {And I thought I would have a moment of tranquility.}

He thinks, soon having a small smile beneath the mask.

Nero: {But I can use them to test my new techniques.}

He then docked his ship and charged the pirates. And his sudden appearance surprised both the pirates and the island's inhabitants. Mainly from another swordsman, who was already facing the pirates. But instead of attacking them, he used his Conqueror's Haki at a lower power, to find out which of them were worth fighting. And the only one who remained standing was the one who seemed to be the leader. But he was also affected by the wave of Conqueror's Haki, falling to his knees and beginning to shake in fear.

Nero: What a disappointment. I thought I could use them to improve my skills. But they are nothing more than a fifth-rate pirate band.

He said, an emotionless tone in his voice. Leaving the pirate even more terrified. But the fear was replaced by anger when he heard it called "fifth category".

Pirate: *Irritated* M-Miserable! Who do you think you are?!

Nero then activates his Devil Bringers, in 1st Form, and grabs him by the neck with his right hand, soon after whispering in the pirate's ear:

Nero: *Whispering* Nero D. Sparda.

All the anger and courage the pirate had simply evaporated completely, leaving him in complete terror.

Pirate: *Terrified* P-Please... M-Mercy...

Nero then released him, only to take the Yamato's handle and say:

Nero: What a shame. *Seriously* Mercy is over.

He then, with a movement faster than human eyes can see, decapitated the pirate. He then sheathed the Yamato again and deactivated her Devil Bringers, then summoned some of her Shadows, ordering them to kill all the fallen pirates and then bring their bodies to him. When the bodies of all the pirates were gathered in front of him, Nero said:

Nero: *Seriously* Arise.

Soon new Shadows rose from the bodies. This all left everyone who saw it perplexed. Just as it made some worry that he was a bigger threat than that pirate band. But to everyone's surprise, he collected his Shadows, turned and began to walk away. When he felt someone quickly approaching him from behind. He then stops walking and uses Yamato to block a sword strike, which was intended to cut off his head. The clash between blades was such that it created a very powerful shock wave. The two then move a few feet away from each other, allowing Nero to get a better look at his attacker.

He was a very tall man, very thin and muscular, with an impressive height of 10 ft. He had white hair, like Nero's, that seemed to shine in the sunlight. His hair was combed back, with some strands falling to the sides of his face. His eyes resembled those of a hawk, being a clear, cold blue color. Just like his look. His skin was slightly pale. He had an oriental dragon tattoo covering his shoulders, chest and both arms, both dragons surrounded his upper arms and forearms, with both their heads being positioned on his chest. Just as they were surrounded by drawings of: swirls, clouds, fire and koi fish. He wore a blue feather coat over his shoulders, like Doflamingo, and below a loose turquoise kimono that was worn hanging around his waist, leaving him bare-chested. Supporting the kimono is a thick, dark purple rope belt placed around her waist like a belt. The rest of her lower clothing consists of a simple pair of black pants and traditional Japanese wooden sandals. He also wore an oni mask, just like Nero, blue in color with his teeth being white. But what caught the most attention about him were the shackles on his wrists and ankles. He had two katanas drawn, the one on the right was a Kokutou (Black Blade), and Nero could feel that the one on the left was a Yotou (Cursed Blade).

The man soon prepared for combat, as did Nero, who summoned Yamato's Spectral Copy.

Nero: Why did you attack me? So, out of nowhere?

Man: I heard what you said to that pirate. I'm just wanting to find out if it's true or not.

Nero: What are you talking about? And who are you, anyway?

Man: Very good. Keep my name well. I am Kagetaka Fujiwara!

Nero: Very well. I know you must have heard my name. But I'll introduce myself anyway. I am Nero D. Sparda.

This left everyone in the city perplexed and terrified. For there was no one in this world who had not already heard of the surname Sparda. And the "man" linked to him.

The two swordsmen then get into position with their respective swords, with Nero activating his Devil Bringers in 2nd Form. Soon both of them advance at high speed against each other, exchanging blows at such high speeds that spectators could barely follow them with their eyes, only being able to see the shock waves from the contact between blades. They then lock their swords in the center of the field, thus stopping moving back and forth. And even though their faces from the nose down were covered, it was possible for both of them to notice that they were both having fun.

Nero: *Smiling* You're very good. I must admit.

Fujiwara: *Smiling* You're not bad either.

They then separate.

Fujiwara: But I can tell you're holding back.

Nero: And you don't? I know this is not all you have.

Fujiwara: How about we go all out now?

Nero: Very well. Just don't regret it later.

Nero then activates his Devil Trigger, thus undergoing major changes in his appearance.

This made some of the women watching gasp, with some of them left with their underwear damp.

Fujiwara then also undergoes a transformation. He went from 10 ft tall to 18 ft. Parts of his body were covered in blue scales, as well as 6 horns growing on his head, and a long tail. And his hands and feet turned into claws. He soon sheathed his Kokutou, holding his Yotou tightly with both hands. With it shining with a white aura around the blade.

Nero was surprised and perplexed by what he just saw. But he put his thoughts aside to focus on the fight. And to make things fair, he disbanded the Spectral Copy. And then he wields the Yamato with both hands, with it being covered by a neon blue aura.

Nero: *Excited* Let's do it!

Fujiwara: *Excited* Yes!

The two then disappear from everyone's vision for a brief moment, before soon appearing, clashing their blades. This time the clash of blades was so powerful that the very ground beneath them cracked. With huge cracks appearing beneath them. Just as the entire island began to shake, as if an earthquake had hit the island. Both were determined to win, and this determination made them put even more strength into their blades, even lifting stones from the ground. Meanwhile the tremors continued to increase. Until the tremors began to subside, until they stopped completely. The townspeople began to speculate what had happened. Was the fight over? Who won?

It was then that the dust settled, revealing the two swordsmen lying on the ground, in their Human Forms. They were both silent, until they both started laughing out loud. Nero then sits down and says:

Nero: *Happy* You're really amazing!

Fujiwara also sat down and said:

Fujiwara: *Cheerful* I say the same about you. I couldn't expect anything less from that man's son.

The two then stand up, sheath their swords, and shake hands.

Nero: Tell me. Wouldn't you like to join my crew?

Fujiwara: Are you serious?

Nero: Of course! You're very strong. Without forgetting to mention that we can face each other whenever we want.

Fujiwara seemed to think for a while, when he said:

Fujiwara: Very well. I accept.

Nero: Very well. Welcome aboard.

The two then began heading towards the port, where Nero's ship was docked. When Fujiwara saw the size of the ship, he was impressed.

Fujiwara: *Whistle* I must say. It's a beautiful ship.

He comments.

Fujiwara: You must have a great crew. To take care of a ship this size.

Nero: Nothing. You're the first one I call to the crew.

Fujiwara was shocked by this. But then he sighed and said:

Fujiwara: You don't make things easy, do you?

Nero: And where's the fun in being easy? I like a good challenge.

Fujiwara: *Laughs* Yeah. You are right.

And so they both board the Crimson Pearl, and set off on their next adventure.
