Lucy's POV

"Let's go on a job!" Natsu yelled to me.

"I don't really feel like it, Natsu..."

"Okay..." he said and walked away, glumly.

I decide to head home for the day, even though it was only noon. While I walk to my apartment I start to cry silently. I noticed black bug-like things floating around me. I poked one and it just floated away from the force of my touch. No one else was noticing them.

"What the hell...?" I asked myself.

I decided to ignore them like everyone else, and keep walking. When I got to my apartment I locked the window and door. (I didn't want Natsu coming in uninvited... again)

Those weird black bug things were inside my house! How did no one notice them?! Oh well, I must not be thinking straight. I should take a bath to clear my head.

I grabbed a towel and some clothes and went to the bathroom. I made the water extra hot and put in my lavender-chamomile ((A/N: not strawberry :P)) scented soap. I threw my dirty clothes in the corner and relaxed in the tub.

My eyes were closed, so the bug things didn't bother me. As soon as I started to fall asleep I got out and rapped my body in my towel. The mirror was covered in steam so I whipped it off and stared at my reflection until it was cover by steam, again.

"Pathetic..." I mumbled to myself.

When I got my pajamas on I fell on my bed and went to sleep.

~6 hours later~

I woke up shivering. My house sure was cold without Natsu... Speaking of Natsu, maybe I should go back to the guild and apologize to him. I put on my regular clothes and headed to the guild.

When I got there I just stared at the entrance. Do I even deserve to be here? I asked myself.

My thoughts were interrupted by a certain Ice Make mage being thrown into me from inside the guild.

"That's what you get, Ice Princess!" Natsu yelled.

He then looked and saw the awkward position Gray and I were in. Gray looked like he was pinning me to the floor; his hands were around my wrists and his legs in between mine.

"G-Get off, Pervert!" I yelled blushing.

"Sorry..." he said awkwardly.

"Luce? Didn't you go home early?" Natsu asked oblivious to what just happened.

"Yeah," I said while getting up and brushing off my skirt, "but I felt like coming back."

"You're weird..."

"We've already established that," I said walking into the guild.

Trying to ignore the bug things (we're gonna call them bugs) was proving to be difficult. I was unconsciously swatting them away from my face; this earned me stares from my guildmates.

I sigh and walk over to Mira.

"Can I have a strawberry milkshake, please?" I asked, fake smiling.

"Coming right up!" Mira smiled back.

I was either a great actor or my friends didn't know me at all. I don't think I want to know which one is right. This might be my last day at the guild so might as well go all out!

And, yes, I did say last day. I decided I would order two strawberry milkshakes today.

"Actually, Mira, could you make that two?" She nodded her head and smiled in response.

The guild was just as rowdy as usual, but I wasn't. Suddenly, two milkshakes appeared in front of my face. I looked up and saw Mira cleaning a glass. I shrugged it off and began to drink my milkshakes.

When I finished my milkshakes i headed to Master's office.

"Master?"

"Come in, child."

"I wish to leave the guild..." I barely whispered.

"Might I ask why?"

"I have no right to bear the same mark as such powerful wizards such as yourself." I answered.

"You may, but you must follow these rules:
One- You must never reveal sensitive information about Fairy Tail to others for as long as you live.

Two- You must never use former contacts met through your being in the guild for personal gain.

Three- Though our paths may have diverged, you must continue to live out your life with all your might, you must never consider your own life to be something insignificant, and you must never forget about your friends for as long as you live."

"I know," I said tears rolling down my face.

I walked out of the guild unnoticed, until... "Lucy! Are you leaving again?"

"Sort of," I whisper then ran away from him as fast as I could.

When I got to my apartment I packed a suitcase with random things I threw into it. I stopped at my box of letters to mother then I broke down sobbing.

"I need you..." I say before I fell asleep on the ground.

~2 hours later~

I woke up feeling disgusting and filthy, so I took a quick shower. I didn't want to be noticed while leaving Magnolia so I grabbed a Happy hoodie that I had bought at the Fairy Tail gift shop before the S-Class exams, some short jean shorts, and a pare of blue and green flip flops ((A/N: They're also called thongs or other things depending on where you live *whispers* I'm American)). I, also, grabbed my keys and whip.

I finished packing my suitcase and told the landlady I would be leaving and she could put the apartment up for sale again. She seemed sad, but I just shrugged it off and trudged through the see of black bugs.

I bought a random ticket and went on a train. I had, coincidentally, payed for the train that headed towards my old house; the Heartfilia Konzern. I guess it's better than nothing. While I was walking through the garden I felt someone behind me, so I pulled up my hood.

I began to walk faster; I heard two sets of footsteps following me so I sprinted to my door. When I barely touched the doorknob, it shocked me and blue sparks appeared and then the door fell down.

"What the..." I started to say, but I turned around.

"Who are you?!" A dark haired boy with blue eyes and a sword, demanded.

I pulled down my hood more to cover my face and answered by saying, "Get off my property!"

"No, answer the question!" he said.

Another boy who had lighter hair and eyes from the one before said, "Calm down, big brother."

"But you saw... that didn't you?!"

"Of course, but-"

He was cut off by me,"What do you want?"

"To know who you are, dammit!" The older brother answered.

"Do you know where you are? If you do then you needn't ask that question!"

"We're umm... Yukio, where are we?" He asked 'Yukio'.

He facepalmed and answered, "The Heartfilia estate, Rin!"

"Then who's that chick?" 'Rin' asked.

"Probably Lucy Heartfilia..."

Rin turned and looked at me. "Are you Lucy?"

"Maybe..." I answered, "Depends who's asking."

"I'm Yukio Okumura, and this is my older brother Rin Okumura; we're twins." Yukio answered.

"Never heard of you." I stated.

"We're not from this country. We only came here because we were ordered to." Rin said.

"Still, that explains nothing."

"We're exorcists from True Cross Academy. Mephisto, our 'boss', sent us here on a mission." Yukio explained further.

"Hold on, I gotta see something," I said grabbing Krux's key from my belt.

I summoned him and asked, "Can you find information on Rin and Yukio Okumura for me?"

He began searching so I took this opportunity to see the looks on the twins' faces. I couldn't help but laugh at their blank expressions.

"What the hell is that?!" Rin asked alarmed.

"A Celestial Spirit."

"What's a 'Celestial Spirit'?"

"A spirit from the Celestial Realm that I summon with Celestial Magic. I am a mage, after all."

"This is what Mephisto was talking about! This is fascinating..." Yukio said. Rin just stood there, probably lost in thought.

Krux woke up and said, "Yukio and Rin Okumura: Sons of Satan and twins. They posses some of his powers and abilities further information is not accessible."

"T-Thank you, you may go back now." I said and sent him back. Those boys had a lot of explaining to do.

"So, Sons of Satan, is it? Care to explain?"

Rin's POV

"So, Sons of Satan, is it? Care to explain?" Lucy asked.

"It's a long story..." I answered.

"I've got time." she said and sat down in front of the broken down doors.

Yukio began to explain and all I heard was, "Dimensions blah blah blah sword blah blah blah powers flames blah blah."

I swatted a coal tar away from my face as Yukio explained some more stuff.

"Wait a minute! Sorry, Yukio, but you see them too?!" Lucy practically yelled as she pointed at a coal tar.

"Y-Yeah..." I answered.

"Thank god, I thought I was the only one! Sorry again Yukio, please continue."

Yukio began to talk again and I tuned out. All I was thinking about was how this weirdo could see coal tar. Is she a demon? I mean, I can sense a strange power being emitted from her but just barely. Although, that would explain why the doors fell. They could have a barrier on them like Shiemi's garden did... Then it clicked.

"Yukio, get away from her." I ordered.

"Why?"

"Yeah, why?" she asked.

"She's a demon," I said.

She looked extremely confused. "How in the world would I be a demon? I'm a mage!"

"The doors. They had a barrier to keep demons out. You broke it. You can see coal tar- a low level demon -and you sensed Yukio and me before you saw us." I explained.

"She must be powerful if she broke that big of a barrier with one touch..." Yukio said.

"That's my point!"

"Can I be included in this conversation?! I'm not a demon!" she yelled.

"That's what I said, and look at me." I said, revealing my tail.

"Brother! You're not supposed to show anyone that!" Yukio said worriedly.

"She's not just anyone, she's a demon!"

She stood up and yelled, "I AM NOT!"

A nearby bush caught on fire. The thing is: the flames were gold.

"Yes, you are." I said in a softer voice.

Lucy's POV

I snapped. I fell onto my knees and cried. When I did I was engulfed by golden flames. I stared at my hands then at Yukio and Rin.

"What's happening...?" I asked as a tear escaped my eye once more.

Rin was then engulfed by blue flames, "You're like me," he said.

"B-But I'm human..."

"You're not," Yukio said, and, he too, was burning with blue flames.

"Then what am I?" I asked, afraid of the answer.

"A demon." Rin said.

~At Fairy Tail (after Lucy ran away from Natsu)

Natsu's POV

"What's wrong with Luce?" I wondered.

"Oi, Flame Brain did ya say somethin'?" Ice Princess asked.

I ignored him completely and walked over to Mira. "Mira, hasn't Lucy been acting strange?"

"Yeah, she had two milkshakes today. Not one! Two! I wonder who broke her heart?"

"What?" I asked confused.

"I think someone broke out little Lucy's heart and she's depressed. At least they won't interfere with operation NaLu anymore..." she smiled evilly.

"Operation what now?"

"Oh, nothing! I'm sure she'll be fine tomorrow." Mira answered.

"Whatever you s-" I was cut off by Gramps.

"Listen up, brats! Lucy left the guild." I could tell he was holding in tears.

"Luce what?" I asked myself.

"Lu-Chan!" Levy sobbed.

"Why?!" Ice Princess asked.

"S-She didn't say..." I listened to his heartbeat... he was lying.

"Gramps, you're lying!" I yelled.

"Maybe I am, but that's not the point. The point is she left and might come back, and if you'll excuse me I have business to take care of."

I heard him crying, but didn't let anyone else know. They were all crying too. Heck, I was close to tears.

The guild stayed like this for hours; everyone was either crying or sulking. I was doing a little bit of both.

But we all wondered the same thing: Why did she leave?

~Back to Lucy~

"A demon." Rin said.

"But, how?!" I panicked.

I felt weird all of a sudden like... things were growing out of my body. I winced in pain. I felt something weird on my back and turned to see it. It was a tail just like Rin's.

"Don't tell me..." I said to myself.

I lunged for my suitcase. ((A/N: forgot to mention she had it with her the whole time, oops)) I looked for a mirror or any reflective surface. I found one and held it up to my face. The flames were gone but my eyes had turned gold, and my canines were more like fangs, and my ears were pointed like Rin's.

"Now, do you believe me?" Rin asked.

I looked at him with scared eyes and nodded. "Good!" he said smiling.

"Let's just go inside for now..." I said turning towards the broken doors.

"I wouldn't do that-" Yukio started to say.

I stepped into the house and was thrown out. I was pushed out by a forcefield or something. I flew back into Rin, then both of us flew into a tree.

"Ow, are you okay?" I asked Rin.

"I'm fine," he said and stood up.

He offered me a hand, and I took it. We walked over to Yukio and he had an 'I told you so' look on his face.

"I-" he started.

"Don't say it." I put my hand over his mouth. I attempt to throw a pebble through the entrance. It went through.

"Why can't I go in?!" I whined.

"There's barriers put up to protect the house from high level demons like us. None of us can go in the house." Yukio answered.

"But, then where do I go?" I sat in the emo corner and started growing mushrooms.

"Stop sulking, you live somewhere don't you?" Rin asked.

"I did... but I left and came here by chance..." I answered.

"Don't you have family? Friends?" Yukio asked.

"My family is dead and I ran away from my friends..." I said glumly.

"Alright, then, let's find a place to stay!" Rin said.

"You're going to come with me? Both of you?" I asked.

"Of course," they said in unison.

"If you two are going to be in public, feel free to let your tail be out. There are weirder looking people in this country." I said.

"I don't have a tail." Yukio said.

"Okay, then. Rin, just in case you want to." I said.

"Okay, thanks." he said with a hint of awkward-ness.

"We better catch a train. Do either of you have any money?" I asked.

"I have 20 yen..." Rin answered.

"What's yen?" I questioned.

"It money." Yukio answered for Rin.

"We use J here. J as in jewels. I only have 170J I think I can find more somewhere around the mansion..." I said and started to walk to mother's grave.

"Father always said it would be right here..." I said to myself.

I felt Rin and Yukio's stares, but kept muttering to myself and looking around. I looked at the vase of dead flowers on top of the stone and dumped them out. Sure enough, there was 77000J.

"This'll be enough!" I say and pocketed the money.

"Okay..." Rin said.

I went back and got my suitcase from the front steps and ran past mother's grave. "C'mon! We gotta go catch a train!" I yelled behind me.

It was around midnight by the time we got to the train station. The earliest train was at 12:30. We had half an hour to kill. I could tell the boys were tired.

"You guys can sleep I'll wake you up when the train gets here." I said.

"Okay, thanks" Rin said.

Yukio stayed awake as Rin fell asleep instantly. "Aren't you gonna sleep?" I asked.

"Rin doesn't wake up easily; I'll end up having to wake him up." He answered.

"It's alright, trust me." I said.

"Are yo-"

"Go to sleep or I'll knock you unconscious." I threatened, growing a tic mark.

"Thank you," he said then fell asleep.

I pulled out my box of letters to mother and a paper and pen. I wrote a quick letter explaining today's events. By the time I was finished it was 12:20. If Rin was like Yukio said, it'll take a while to wake him up.

I looked to my left to see Rin sound asleep next to me. He's so cute! I think to myself. I grabbed his tail and he jolted up, furious.

"Your not such a heavy sleeper after all." I laughed.

"Haha very funny." Rin said with sarcasm.

"It is, anyway, wake up Yukio. I have to pack up my stuff." I told him.

"Yeah, yeah." He said and began to poke Yukio's glasses.

I began to repack my stuff, and when I finish Yukio was awake. Right when I stood up, the train came into view.

"Let's go!" I yelled.

"How do you have so much energy?" Rin asked.

"I slept for 8 hours before I went to the Heartfilia Estate." I said.

"Still, it almost 1am." Rin complains.

"So?"

"Never mind..."

We boarded the train and the conductor announced, "Seven hours until our next stop: Crocus."

The moment they said 'Crocus' I tensed up.

"Are you okay?" Yukio asked.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. It's nothing." I assured him.

"Okay..."

We went to go find some seats, but I was so nervous about going to Crocus that I tripped and fell on Rin.

"Watch where you're going," Rin said surprisingly not as rude as I thought he'd be.

We finally found seats and I got the window seat. Yukio sat across from me and Rin sat next to me.

"Wait, if we're going to a city with a lot of wizards, then we need a name for our powers." I said.

"What?" Yukio said confused.

"Crocus is where they host a wizarding tournament every other year, so, as you might guess, there are going to be lots of wizards. If there are lots of wizards, then if we walk around with tails and no magic what so ever people are going to get suspicious." I explained.

"How about..." Yukio began to think.

That's when I got an idea, "Demon Slayers!" Rin and I said in unison.

I giggled and Yukio nodded in approval. Soon after, Yukio fell asleep and Rin stayed awake.

"Aren't you gonna sleep?" I ask.

"I can't," he replied.

"Why not?" He didn't answer to that he just looked away.

I heard footsteps coming closer to us so I pulled up my hood. Rin looked at me questioningly. I ignored him and everything else except the footsteps. Something seemed familiar about them... The train started to move and one pair of footsteps started to lag.

"Don't tell me..." I whispered, "Rin look at who's coming this way."

"Why?"

"Just do it," I said gripping my jacket.
He walked into the isle, looked both ways and came back.

"What did you see?"

"A red headed girl in armor, a raven haired guy without a shirt, and a pink haired guy that looked like he was about to puke. Oh, and a blue cat that looks like your jacket." he answered.

"Are you sure?" I asked close to tears.

"Yeah, why?" he answered.

"Remember how I told you I ran away from my friends?" he nodded, "Well, those are only 3 of the strongest ones, and Happy. They're probably looking for me..."

"But, they're your friends. Shouldn't you be happy?" he asked.

"I left the strongest guild in Fiore. They won't hurt me, but they will want me to go back and I don't want to. I want to stay with you two."

"Thanks... I guess." Rin said.

The footsteps were closer, almost to us. With my luck Erza, Gray, Natsu, and Happy sat to the left of us on the other side of the isle.

Erza knocked Natsu out cold and set him on her lap. Gray looked out the window, and Happy began sniffing the air.

"I smell Lu-shee!" he exclaimed.

I tightened my grip on my jacket. Rin looked at me and put his hand over mine, trying to calm me down.

"Where?!" Gray and Erza yelled at the same time.

I came up with an idea. When Happy got up and started following my scent I hugged Rin. He looked at us and said, "They liiiike each other." Then walked away.

Erza put Natsu over her shoulders and followed Happy. Gray followed them, but gave me a second look then left.

"That was close," I said letting Rin go.

"What was that for?!" He yelled waking up Yukio.

"What happened?" Yukio asked sheepishly.

"She hugged me!"

"Because Happy and Natsu have a keen sense of smell. Hugging you masked mine." I explained.

"See, it's no big deal." Yukio said and went back to sleep.

"Whatever." Rin said, "I'm going to sleep."

He tried to, but couldn't. I put his head in my lap and asked, "Better?"

"Y-Yeah..." he answered, his face having a light pink tint.

He fell asleep, and I had nothing to do except watch out for Erza and Gray. Even though I looked different, they would recognize me. I just noticed that Rin and Yukio had suitcases too. Wow. I'm really out of it today.

I decided to look through Rin's. He had a lot of tear stained mangas and cook books. He also had uniforms like the one he had on.

I had an idea. I looked through my suitcase and found knee high socks, a black skirt, and some black shoes. I put my sweatshirt over Rin's face so he wouldn't see me changing and I put a shirt over Yukio's I made sure no one was coming and quickly put on my skirt and one of Rin's shirts. I found other things that went with the uniform in his suitcase. There was a weird pendant thing and a tie. I put them on and put my old clothes in my suitcase.

I closed Rin's suitcase, and took my sweatshirt off his face and shirt off Yukio's. I put on my socks and shoes while I was sitting down.

Yukio woke up and looked at me, "Where did you get that stuff?" He asked.

"I found the shirt, blazer, and tie in Rin's suitcase and the skirt, shoes, and socks are mine." I said.

"That's an exorcist uniform, people might target you now." he warned.

"It's not like I haven't been targeted before." I said back.

He looked at me questioningly, then shrugged it off. I decided to go to sleep and Yukio said he'd stay up and watch for people.

I should've told him about Erza and them, but that could wait. I fell asleep with my head against the window, and Rin still on my lap.

~A few hours later~

Rin's POV

I woke up on Lucy's lap. I looked over and saw Yukio staring out the window. I got up and sat next to him.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He pointed at Lucy; she was wearing an exorcist's uniform.

"How did she-" he pointed at my suitcase.

"Are you serious?! She took my clothes?!"

"Yes," he answered. Oh well, it's not like there are any exorcists here.

"We will be arriving at our first stop shortly." The conductor announced.

"Better wake her up," I said.

This is pay back time. I grabbed her tail and she woke up immediately. I couldn't help but laugh at her. I suddenly felt my tail being grabbed and I saw that she had caught it.

"Fine, I get it!" I said, "We're almost at Crocus." I pouted.

"Oh, okay." She said and got her stuff. She suddenly stopped and dropped everything in her hands.

"Natsu's about to wake up..." She said with a blank expression.

"Who?" I asked.

"The guy with the pink hair. He's the strongest of my friends. He won't hesitate to take me back." I said.

"I thought you didn't want to go back." Yukio said.

"I don't, not now at least." she answered.

"Then-" I was cut off by the train stoping. I heard running footsteps and saw a flash of pink go by out seats.

"Was that him?" Yukio asked Lucy.

She nodded. "Natsu gets motion sickness he wakes up almost immediately after a train stops."

"Oh, then aren't your other friends coming?" I ask.

"Erza will punish him, Gray will facepalm, and Happy was probably flying next to Natsu while he was running." she answered.

"Then we better hurry before the others come, right?" Yukio asked.

"Yeah, but I have to walk in between you two. You know, the masking scent thing." she said.

"Okay..."

I walked on Lucy's left and Yukio on her right. She walked really fast, maybe she's nervous. When we exited the train I heard someone shout "Luce!" Lucy seemed to flinch at the name but kept walking.

We walked for about 10 minutes before she stopped.

Lucy's POV

I stopped and turned around to face Rin and Yukio. "We will stay at Crocus Gardens since Fairy Tail members aren't allowed there because of what happened during the GMGs." ((A/N: Made that up))

"Okay, but you need to learn to control your powers. Usually powers like ours are sealed by something." Rin said.

"We'll worry about that later. Now, let's go!" I exclaimed.

We walked to the hotel and I could afford one room with two beds... this place was expensive. We headed to our room and on the way I say something shiny on the floor. I picked it up and it was two golden Zodiac keys.

"Yukino..." was all I said before the world went black.
