Y/N walked through the foggy streets of Magnolia. The streets were empty and it was quiet, too quiet. The only sound came from Y/N walking. He passed by a small alley and heard a certain noise. He turned and saw a demon slowly approach him, only for it to fall over dead. He scoffed and prepared to head on his way, however...

Someone rushed him from the alleyway and pinned him to a building on the other side of the road. He crossed his dual swords in an x-formation, bringing them close to Y/N's neck.

This man had green eyes with white spiky hair; he wore a white trench coat with a high collar lined with gold. He had white shoulder pads as well as a white shirt, pants and grieves. He had a look of darkness in his eyes.

Man: So, you're Sparda's grandson.

Y/N: So what if I am, Milk-man?

Man: The answer is oblivious. I'll take your soul.

???: Fire Dragon Roar!

The man looked to his left and saw a stream of fire heading towards him. A large explosion erupted in front of Y/N. By the time the smoke cleared, the man in white was gone.

Y/N: Hey. If you're gonna help me, how about holding it down a little.

A certain Dragon Slayer walked up.

Natsu: (eager grin) Sorry, not my style.

Y/N flashed an amused smile.

Natsu: So who was that guy anyway?

Y/N: A demon.

They both looked into the fog.

Y/N: A white demon.

As they looked on, a raven landed on Natsu's head and suddenly started to peck him on his head.

Natsu: Ow, ow, ow, ow! Cut it out!

Y/N: Raven. Stop that please.

The raven hops off before it transforms, revealing it to be Raven.

Raven: (scoff) Well, tell Hot Head over there to keep the noise down. Demons from the next continent could hear him.

Natsu: Hey!

Later that day, around lunchtime; Natsu, Y/N, Raven, Pyra, and Happy sat in a booth with Wendy and Carla telling them about what happened earlier today

Wendy: A white demon?

Natsu: Yeah, that's right. But he looked human.

Y/N: Many demons are capable of disguising themselves as humans.

Pyra: It is a trick they learn some time upon first arriving in this world. Quite the handy trick.

Happy: That's kinda creepy. Not knowing if someone is a human or a demon.

Carla: Which would make it easy for a demon to infiltrate a human area without noticing.

Natsu: That guy looked like a human, but he didn't smell like one.

Wendy: So how can you tell if it was a demon?

Raven: (points to Y/N eyes) It's the eyes. There's a certain spark in them.

Y/N: You can always tell by looking into their eyes; no matter how good they disguise themselves, demons always have a spark in their eyes.

Bartender: What was that?! I dare you to say that again!

The bartender, Fred, is a middle-aged adult with white skin, brown eyes, brown hair, beard and mustache. His work uniform consists of a formal white shirt with a black tie, black pants, a guindo color vest and a black apron tied at his hip.

Fred unleashed his anger at a man at the bar. He had long black hair with gold eyes and pointed ears. He wore a black trench coat with a black shirt, pants, and shoes.

Man: Please don't misunderstand me I just-

Fred: Shut up and get the hell outta here!

Pyra: (looks at the man) That man......

A waitress named Cindy walked up to the table where the Fairy Tail members were sitting.

Cindy was a young woman with white skin, brown eyes and brown hair. She wears her work uniform which consists of a light pink dress with red lines that go down her shoulders, a red bow with a gold brooch in the shape of a heart on it, a pink skirt clear with red lines and a hat of the same color with a red line that goes by the sides. She also uses a pair of skates to transport herself inside the restaurant and serve the orders. As ornate she uses a pair of golden heart-shaped earrings and what appears to be an orange star-shaped tattoo on her left cheekbone.

Cindy: Thanks for waiting.

The waitress put the drinks in front of the Fairy Tail members and a strawberry sundae in front of Y/N.

Happy: Hey, what's going on over there?

Cindy: Oh that guy at the bar said the boss's strawberry sundaes weren't very good.

Wendy: Strawberry sundaes? You mean like this? (pointed to the one Y/N ordered)

Natsu and Y/N both found themselves joining Pyra in looking towards the man in black.

Man: If I offended you I apologize.

Y/N slowly took a bite of his sundae.

Man: I only meant that using slightly less sugar would make them-

Fredi: Shut your face you bastard! I don't even want your money! Hurry up and get-

Y/N: Hold on there, old man.

Everyone looked at Y/N.

Y/N: I've got a bit of an attachment to the sundaes here myself like my dad. But they seem to be a bit sweeter than usual today. That man is right.

Fredi had a shocked expression while clenching his teeth as the man in black had a small smile on his face. 

Five minutes later the door, was closed with a 'closed' sign hanging from it. Cindy still gave a friendly wave from inside as Y/N, Pyra, Raven, Natsu, Happy, Wendy, Carla, and the man in black all stood outside.

Happy: He got all moody.

Natsu: That guy can't really seem to take criticism pretty well, huh?

Carla: He won't be getting any more customers with that attitude.

Y/N: Underneath that rough exterior, he's nothing but a big softie.

Man: Seems I may have hurt his feelings.

He and Y/N looked at each other for a bit. Natsu looked towards this man as well, something he smelled caught the dragon slayer's attention. All while Pyra looked at him deep in thought.

(with Trish)

Man: (terrified) D-D-Demon! (he was backed against the wall) Please! SOMEONE HELP!!! She... She's a demon!

Trish walked up with an eager smile. 

Trish: Yes, that's right. I'm a demon, and what might you be?

The man went from being scared to giving a sinister cackle.

Man: You're right.

The skin was torn off his body to reveal a red monster with tentacle-arms.

Demon: I'm also a demon!

He lunged forward, only for Trish to pull out a pistol and shoot him in the chest multiple times. Trish then kicked him back towards the wall and she pinned his head down with her boot.

Trish: Are you still breathing? I've got a question for you. Do you know anything about the white demon that's been showing its face around here?

Demon: No. Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you-

Trish pointed a pistol towards the demon's head.

Demon: I was lying! I was lying! I know who you're talking about. They call that guy Sparda's apprentice!

Trish: (surprised) 'Apprentice'?

Demon: Yes, that's right. He's supposed to be a really tough demon. The rumor is, when he takes a sword in his hand, thousands of demons get killed in a split second! And that he's looking for some chick that worked with him as well.

Trish began to think a bit on this.

Demon: Um... are we through yet Miss? Can I... eat you now?!

The demon's jaw expanded, throwing Trish off. It lunged towards her but she flipped over and sent a blue bolt of lighting from her hand, which shot through the demon's chest, killing it.

Fairy Tail Guildhall

Lucy: Sparda's Apprentice?!

Trish began to explain what the demon told her, to many of the guild wizards present, Y/N and Pyra included.

Trish: Yeah, I heard a lot of rumors like that around town.

Nia: Oie, Devil Boy. Know anything about this?

Y/N: Nope, this morning was the first time I ever saw the creep. 

???: Baul.

Everyone turned their attention to Pyra.

Pyra: His name is Baul, and he was one of Sparda's apprentices.

Gray: You know him? 

Pyra: Yes, unfortunately. (sighs) I had hoped he would mellow out after 2000 years, but I guess not.

Levy: Do you know what he wants with Y/N?

Pyra: Only thing that could be is that he is still fixated on surpassing Sparda.

Raven: He said something about wanting Y/N's soul.

Juvia: His soul? 

Pyra: Most likely, he wants the power that flows through his veins. The power of Sparda to be more clear.

Cana: (sarcastic) Yeah, that's not scary or anything.

Makarov: We'll be cautious. But not overly so, I'm sure we'll see him again.

Kat: So we just sit back and do nothing then?

Makarov: That's exactly what we'll do for now. Proceed as if nothing's happened, that should provoke him into acting sooner rather than later.

Pyra: (sighs) Baul....... (place her face on the table)

Lucy: Don't worry; we'll definitely pay this guy back, plus interest.

Y/N: Well that's nice of you guys and all, but he asked for me directly. (began to walk out) I won't let anyone interfere.

Gray: Still going for the whole lone wolf act huh?

Erza: Give him some time, he's still relatively new to the guild.

Lucy: Either that or he's just trying to act tough.

Trish: (amused smile) Probably the latter, knowing him.

Southgate Park

Night had fallen over the city and the moon was full. The park was empty save for one man, the man in black, who sat on the park bench and looked to the full moon.

Man: (thoughts) A demon who fought to protect the Human World. My mentor, Sparda the Dark Knight. It's been 2000 thousand years since that battle. And now the one who has appeared before us is not you, but your grandson, Y/N. And Pyra your former blade stands with him as well.

(timeskip)

It was now morning in Southgate Park. Children played as adults talked and people seemed to go about their usual business.

The man in black was still sat on the same bench since last night. He merely observed the peacefulness of the day with a small smile.

???: Hello there.

He looked to his right to see Wendy, with Carla, walking up towards him.

Man in black: Oh hello.

Wendy: You're that man from yesterday, right?

Man in black: Yeah.

Wendy: I never did get your name, my name is Wendy, and this is Carla. (offered a friendly handshake) It's nice to meet you.

Modeus: (shook her hand) The feeling is mutual. My name is Modeus.

Wendy: (sat next to him) That's a very nice name.

Carla: So, what are you doing just sitting here?

Modeus: Nothing. Just people-watching.

Carla: People-watching?

Modeus: It's times like these that you appreciate peace. These children who laugh and play, without any care in the world. It always seems to make me feel at peace.

Wendy: That's a nice way of looking at the world.

Modeus noticed a certain guild mark on her shoulder. 

Modeus: You're a wizard from Fairy Tail, aren't you?

Wendy: You know about Fairy Tail?

Modeus: Yes, it's quite a well-known guild. A group of wizards working together to protect those who cannot protect themselves. I find it quite admirable.

Carla: That is when they're not busy destroying half the world they are supposed to be protecting.

Wendy giggled while Modeus looked amused.

Modeus: If you don't mind me asking, what kind of magic do you use?

Wendy: I use healing and support magic. Actually, I'm a Sky Dragon Slayer.

Modeus: (surprised) A Dragon Slayer?

Wendy: Yep. I was taught my magic by the Sky Dragon, Grandeeney.

Modeus: Mentored by a dragon. (looked towards the sky) Dragons are extraordinary creatures, aren't they?

Carla: You know about the dragons?

Modeus: Yes, I've met quite a few in my time.

Wendy had sparkles in her eyes as soon as she heard that.

Wendy: Wow! You knew about dragons!

Modeus smiled at Wendy. This was being observed just outside the park by another Dragon Slayer and his flying cat.

Happy: Hey Natsu, isn't that the same guy from yesterday?

Natsu: Yeah, that's him. (picked up his scent) Something about him though is making me a little... uneasy.

Happy: Well he seems like a nice guy. Carla and Wendy over there seem to like him.

Natsu: But he smells a lot like that white demon that attacked Y/N.

Happy: (surprised) He smells like him?!

Natsu: Yeah I-

Natsu picked up a small whiff, and he growled a bit. 

Natsu: Speak of the devil.

From on top of a building near the park; Modeus was being watched by someone else. It was the aforementioned Baul, staring down at him.

???: Hey you!

He turned around to see Natsu flying towards him.

Natsu: Fire Dragon Iron Fist!

Natsu's fists were engulfed with flame as he tried to punch him. Baul leaped back just as Natsu punched the ground. He lunged forward but the white demon ducked and gave a powerful roundhouse, kicking Natsu to the other side of the building.

Natsu tried to get up, but had a sword pointed towards his neck. He looked to Baul who wielded the sword.

Happy: Natsu hang on!

Happy tried to fly towards him, but Baul pointed his other sword in Happy's direction, keeping him back.

Baul: I'll give you one chance. Leave now, and don't ever attack me again. If you do, you will die.

Natsu: You're the same prick that tried to attack Y/N!

Baul: What concern is it of you?

Natsu: He's part of my guild and my friend! Anyone who attacks my friends will be burnt to a crisp!

Baul: (lowered his swords) So the rumors are true. The grandson of Sparda has joined a human guild. What would he have to gain from siding with lesser beings?

Natsu: Just who the hell are you?!

Baul: I am Baul, I am the apprentice of the Dark Knight Sparda.

Both Natsu and Happy were surprised at that statement.

Happy: Trish was right. He is Sparda's apprentice!

Natsu: I don't care if he is. But why are you here? Y/N isn't.

Happy then looked down towards Wendy who was still talking with the man in black.

Happy: Are you here for that Modeus guy?

Baul: Hmph. What would the likes of you know about my brother and me?

Happy: (eyes were white circles) HUH?!?!

Natsu: (bearing the same expression as Happy) BROTHER?!?!

Baul: You should have figured out sooner, you do have heightened senses, so your sense of smell should have noticed the similarities. Natsu Dragneel, son of Igneel.

Natsu's expression became one of surprised when he heard that.

Natsu: You know Igneel?

Baul: His stench is all over you. I'll say this one more time. Do not intervene.

He then vanished from his sight, leaving behind a surprised Natsu and Happy.

Later in the afternoon, the sun was about to set for the day, in the park Wendy told Modeus much about her time with Fairy Tail; and how they took down the Oracion Seis. Modeus listened to every word.

Modeus: You seem to think very highly of this guild.

Wendy: (nodded) Yep, they're like my family.

Modeus: Family. That is a powerful word.

Before Wendy could ask what he meant by that, Carla spoke up.

Carla: I hate to interrupt, but it's getting late, we should head back Wendy.

Wendy: Oh, okay then. It was nice to meet you Modeus.

Wendy and Carla began to walk out; she turned around to say one last thing.

Wendy: If you want, come to Fairy Tail tomorrow. I'll ask Mira to make you a Strawberry Sundae, she makes the best ones!

Wendy then left with Carla. Modeus smiled as he watched Wendy and Carla leave.

Modeus: (closed his eyes) I know you're back there. Come on out.

Natsu and Happy comically stumbled out of the bush behind the bench that they were hiding in.

Happy: Darn it, that was the best hiding spot in the park too.

Modeus: Can I help you with something?

Natsu: You're a demon, aren't you?

Modeus: (bore an amused smile) Indeed I am. I don't expect anything less from the famous Salamander. You are indeed a powerful Dragon Slayer.

Natsu: And you're also Baul's brother right?

This earned a surprised look from Modeus.

Modeus: (stood up) You know my brother?

Happy: Yes, he's been trying to hunt Y/N for a few days now.

That earned an even more surprised look from Modeus.

Natsu: Do you know why he's doing that?

Modeus didn't answer as he ran out of the park.

Natsu: Huh? Hey wait up!

Natsu then ran after Modeus as Happy flew behind him.

Modeus was seen running through the streets of Magnolia as fast as his feet would carry him. Natsu wasn't too far behind, trying to catch up with him.

Baul meanwhile walked through the streets in another location of the town. The expression he bore on his face kept all the people around him from getting close as they were quite intimidated.

Y/N with Pyra also walked casually through the streets in another part of Magnolia.

As they each continued towards their destinations, the sun had set and night had fallen onto Magnolia; the streetlights lit to provide illumination.

Baul had just arrived at the Fairy Tail guild building.

(with Y/N and Pyra)

Y/N and Pyra were standing in front of the bar that they, Raven, Natsu, Wendy, Happy, and Carla were at yesterday. He stood in front of the locked door with a sign that read 'We will be closed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.'

Y/N: Closed till further notice? Did you go off to train in the mountains or something?

Pyra: (tilt her head cutely) What does a mountain have to do with sundaes?

Y/N: (sweat drop) It was a figure of speech, Pyra.

Pyra: Oh, I apologize.

They then began to walk away.

(With Baul)

Baul had opened the door and entered the dark and empty Fairy Tail guildhall. No one was in it; except for three individuals who stood in the middle of the empty building. Baul was surprised to see one of them in particular.

Modeus regained his breath, no doubt running to get to this location; on his right was Natsu glaring at Baul, with Happy hiding behind Natsu, looking a bit scared.

Modeus: Y/N is not here. Neither is Pyra.

Baul: I see. 

Baul turned around, ready to leave.

Modeus: Why? Your opponent is Sparda, isn't he? And Pyra will never listen to you.

This earned a questionable look from Natsu and Happy.

Modeus: So why would you fight Y/N?

Baul: Sparda's dead and his brats are trapped in the Underworld.

Modeus: But that doesn't-

Baul: (angry) I waited 2000 thousand years, but Sparda did not appear!

Modeus: And so you're going after his grandson Y/N?

Baul: That's right. If I get his soul, I'll also get the Dark Knight Sparda's power and the Aegis as well!

Natsu: That ain't gonna happen bub!

Baul turned his attention to the Dragon Slayer.

Baul: I told you not to interfere.

Natsu: You think I'm gonna listen to you?! Come on, let's go! You and me!

He was about to charge forward, but Modeus extended his arm, blocking Natsu's path.

Modeus: So, you insist on this?

Baul: Yes.

Modeus: Then there's no help for it.

Modeus extended his other arm and opened his palm. A sword burst from the ground and to his hand, which he took. 

Modeus: If you insist on this, then please do it after you've defeated me.

Natsu: And when he's done, it's my turn!

Happy: Aye, you tell him!

Baul glared at both of them, before scoffing and turning around.

Baul: I have no desire to battle someone who abandoned the way of the sword.

Natsu: You're asking for it! 

Natsu charged forward before Modeus could stop him. Natsu prepared a fiery punch, but Baul grabbed him by the wrist and threw him towards the bar, which he crashed into.

Happy: Natsu!

The Dragon Slayer quickly got back up on his feet

Natsu: You want to be as strong as Sparda so bad, so don't try to kill his grandson! If you're really his apprentice, I doubt he'd agree with something like this.

That struck a nerve in Baul, and bore a look of shock from Modeus.

Natsu: I bet the only reason you won't fight Modeus is cause you're scared. That's it isn't it?

Natsu was then grabbed by the throat by Baul and brought close to his face. 

Baul: Sparda entrusted his true strength and will to Modeus, not to me. And after everything that happened in the war, he hid the Aegis away like a coward.

He then threw Natsu to the side and turned back to his brother.

Baul: When he gets back, tell him to come to me and bring the Aegis as well. (leaving)

Modeus walked over to Natsu and offered him help to get back up, which he took.

Modeus: Are you alright?

Natsu: I'm fine. What the heck is that guy's deal?

Happy: Modeus, what is going on?

Modeus: (sigh) Perhaps it's best if Y/N and the rest of your guild is here, so that Pyra and I don't have to explain it twice.

Baul continued to walk through the dark streets of Magnolia. When he passed by a lamppost, it shattered and the light vanished.

The next morning, it looked like it was about to storm, so everyone hurried there as fast as they could to avoid getting soaked.

However everyone arrived at the guildhall, they were surprised to find Modeus and Natsu waiting there; Y/N and Wendy were especially surprised. Once everyone was present, Modeus and Pyra began to explain the whole situation to them. 

Y/N: (leaned against the counter) I see. A duel with me huh?

Lucy: So it's like Pyra said, he is Sparda's apprentice.

Pyra: Correct.

Wendy: (walked to Modeus) You're a demon?

Modeus: It was not my intention to deceive you. I just didn't think I would have to tell you. I am sorry.

Erza: You're his brother?

Modeus: Yes, his twin brother in fact.

Lucy and Carla: (surprise) Twin brother?! (Modeus nodded)

Gray: What exactly does this guy want?

Modeus: He is convinced that if he gets Y/N's soul, he'll obtain the same power as Sparda. (look to Pyra) And if he does, he gains you as well.

Nia: Well now, where did he bloody get that idea from?

Modeus: I am unsure.

Pyra: Nor do I.

Mirajane: Modeus, are you also Sparda's apprentice?

Modeus: Indeed I am. Though I no longer wield a sword.

Erza: Even if Baul gained Sparda's power, what would he want with it?

Y/N: Well if I had to guess, he'll use it to become king of the Demon World, maybe even the human world to.

Lucy: So, an evil twin trying to kill someone to gain power and rule both worlds, huh? Where have we heard that before?

Raven: Great, just what we need, another evil brother. If Vergil, B/N, and Malos weren't enough. (looks at Y/N) What is it, with having an evil brother, does the bloodline of Sparda have that effect on siblings?

Y/N: (shrugs) How should I know?

The whole guild grimaced as they each remembered a certain black and dark blue-clad half-demon with a katana blade.

Natsu: (clenched his fist) This guy's no different from B/N.

Elfman: Sounds to me like this Baul-guy needs a manly kick in the ass.

Modeus: No. You don't understand anything about my brother. I know of B/N and what he intends to do, but Baul is nothing like him. He has no intention of gaining power to rule over the Demon or Human Worlds. He just... wants to fight someone strong, that's all. (looks at Natsu) Not unlike you, Natsu.

Natsu: (angry) I don't kill people! And I certainly wouldn't try to use their own power to become stronger or kill someone to force someone else to obey me!

Makarov: Modeus, why tell us all this?

Nia: Yeah, what's the point?

Modeus: Because I do not wish to see any blood shed. I care for my brother and would not wish to see him, or any of you harmed.

Pyra: (smile) Even after all these years, you are still the same.

Erza: You truly are a noble being Modeus. However, if what you say of Baul is true, then he will not be satisfied if Y/N were to turn him down.

Gray: Yeah, she's right. He may not be as psychotic as B/N, but he's not gonna stop till he's satisfied.

Lucy: So what do we do then?

Y/N: If he wants to fight me, then maybe I should give him what he wants. 

Y/N: If he wants to fight me, then maybe I should give him what he wants.

Pyra: I really hope you know what you're doing.

Y/N and Pyra begin to walk to the door.

Wendy: Y/N-

Y/N: There's no need to worry. You guys all said it yourself, he's no B/N. So I can take him.

Happy: But he's still dangerous. He took down Natsu twice.

Natsu: He didn't take me down! He just caught me by surprise!

Y/N: I'm pretty dangerous myself.

Modeus: Wait. What could you have to gain from fighting my brother?

Y/N: He needs to be taught a lesson, or else he'll never learn. When someone picks a fight with me, I'll give it to them. (began to walk out) Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill him. But I am gonna kick his ass.

Y/N and Pyra walked out of the guildhall just as the rain began to pour and lightning flashed through the sky.

Southgate Park

Rain was now starting to pour down as Y/N faced Baul with Pyra by his side.

Y/N: I came, Milk-man. Let's settle this thing fast before me and Pyra catch a cold.

They stared down for a few seconds before Baul looked in the rightmost direction.

Baul: Why are they here?

Y/N: Hm? 

Y/N looked and saw Natsu, Happy, Erza, Raven, Wendy, Carla, Nia, Dromarch and Lucy standing at the edge of the park looking in that direction.

Y/N: (thoughts) Why am I not surprised? (speaking) Don't worry, they're just here to observe. This is between you and me, so don't go and drag them into this.

Baul: As long as they won't interfere I won't attack them.

Y/N: That's all I ask. Come on Milk-man, let's go.

Baul opened his left hand and a sword rose from the ground. He caught it and charged forward at intense speed, but Y/N blocked the strike with Rebellion as they locked blades.

Y/N: (smile) Well, this makes me happy. I've always wanted to know what a swordsman trained by my grandfather would be like, and now I got the chance.

Baul extended his right hand and opened his palm, letting his second sword rise from the ground. He tried to slash his right blade but Y/N jumped back.

Baul was now wielding both his swords. He yelled and charged forward; Y/N and Baul then clashed their blades; while the Fairy Tail wizards watched this.

Natsu: He's good.

Pyra: (joins them) Yes, Sparda trained him quite well.

Wendy: You think Y/N will be okay?

Carla: I wouldn't worry about him. Baul is good, but we have all seen the full power of Y/N, so we can assume Y/N will be just fine.

Lucy: Assuming Y/N doesn't trash the whole park.

Raven: I wouldn't make any bets on it.

Happy: Come on Y/N! Go! Take him down!

Meanwhile; Modeus had walked towards the park, with a worried expression on his face. He looked to see the battle that was taking place.

Baul slashed relentlessly towards Y/N, while he was able to block each strike towards him, but was forced back as Baul was pressing forward with both strength and speed.

Baul came in with a lunge on the right, which Y/N blocked and jumped back. Baul yelled as he lunged forward, but Y/N thrusted Rebellion and cut a deep gash into Baul's side.

Natsu, Erza, Happy, Lucy, Raven, Nia, Dromarch, Wendy, and Carla continued to look at the battle with intensity as the injured Baul kneeled down.

Y/N: Why don't you make it easy on yourself and just surrender.

Baul: I must not... lose here... In this place... for the sake of Modeus... Modeus who gave up the sword for me...

The group listening were a bit surprised to hear what Baul was saying.

Pyra: (sad) Baul......

Erza: He does care for his brother.

Natsu: He really isn't B/N.

Baul: I cannot... I must not... BE DEFEATED HERE!!!

Baul had now transformed into his demonic appearance. His body was covered in white scales, white horns decorated his head, he had white claws, and glowing green eyes.

Natsu, Erza, Lucy, Happy, Nia, Dromarch, Carla, and Wendy were surprised to see him take his form.

Happy: Whoa! What is that?!

Lucy: Is that a Devil Trigger?!

Pyra: Not exactly. Baul is a demon, remember? His human form is just a disguise.

Raven: If he took his real form, it means he's just getting started.

Wendy: Y/N...

She knew he was strong, but would not like to see him hurt.

Y/N: So, you finally showed your true form, huh?

Baul: I will surpass the Dark Knight Sparda!

Baul charged forward to Y/N as Baul slashed at an even faster rate, Y/N had a little more trouble blocking these attacks. Baul continued to press forward, forcing Y/N to back up.

Y/N tried to go on the offensive and thrust Rebellion forward, which Baul blocked by crossing his blades, but Y/N swerved under him and gave a roundhouse to the chest, knocking Baul back.

He then kicked Baul in his wound and grabbed him by the neck, throwing him into a tree. Baul tried to get up but Y/N pointed his sword to his neck.

Y/N: This fight is over.

Wendy, Lucy, and Happy all breathed a sigh of relief seeing this. Erza, Nia, and Natsu bore smiles as well while Raven smirk. Both Modeus and Pyra breathed a sigh of relief as well.

Natsu: I knew it. No way he could have beaten Y/N, he's good.

Erza: I'm glad to see it end like this.

Lucy: Looks like Y/N didn't kill him, just like he said he would.

Happy: Aye.

Pyra: Thank god for that.

Baul: Kill me! You must, or I won't stop! I'll never stop!

Y/N: Sorry pal, I win. You live.

Y/N sheathed Rebellion and began to walk away.

Y/N: Wait here. One of my friends has healing magic, I'm sure she'll be more than happy to treat you.

Baul could not believe this. He breathed deeply in anger, it was building up inside like a volcano that was about to erupt.

Baul: No! It's not over! If you wont kill me... then they will suffer the price!

Y/N turned around only for Baul to smack him away.

Pyra: Baul! Stop this at once!

Baul: NEVER!!! I'LL TAKE YOU BY FORCE IF I HAVE TO!!!

Pyra: (grips her hands) Sparda wouldn't want you to do this!

Baul yelled and charged at Pyra who pulled out her Aegis Sword. There was a sudden flash of lightning with the sound of flesh being cut. Y/N, Raven, Nia, Dromarch, Wendy, Natsu, Erza, Happy, Lucy, and Carla looked in shock at what they saw. Pyra was shocked as well. Because Modeus himself stood in front of Pyra. He had his sword and it pierced through Baul's chest.

Baul: (weakly) M-M-Modeus... (coughs blood)

Modeus' eyes were shaking.

Modeus: (sad) Brother. Forgive me.

He pulled out his sword and Baul fell to the ground, as he was dead.

Lucy had her mouth covered in shock; while Nia, Dromarch, Erza and Natsu each bore looks of shock of their own. Happy and Carla flew over to Pyra with Wendy behind them as Y/N and Raven slowly walked towards them. Modeus fell to his knees by his brother's corpse, dropping his sword.

Modeus: I... I had no choice...

Wendy: Modeus...

Everyone walked towards him as the rain continued to pour down.

Modeus: 2000 thousand years ago, when the Demon and Human Worlds were connected... Sparda, my brother, and I made a promise. We promised that we'd each live true to our aspirations and carry them out. Soon afterwards, Sparda came to this land all alone, to protect the Human World. My brother never aligned himself with either world, merely waiting devotedly for Sparda to return. Yes. Dueling with Sparda, the greatest swordsman in the Demon Realm, was his only reason for living. I had abandoned my sword, it had begun to disgust me, it created nothing, it could even rob my brother of his reason to live.

Modeus then felt someone touch his shoulder and something wrapped around him. It was Pyra who touched him and Wendy who hugged him from behind. A few tears fell from their eyes as well.

Wendy: I'm sorry, Modeus. I'm sorry.

Pyra: Modeus....

A few hands gently lay on his shoulders as well. He looked to see it was from Lucy and Erza, each bearing their own look of sympathy towards him; Natsu had his own look of sympathy as well, as did Raven, Nia, Dromarch, Happy and Carla. Modeus then slowly stood up.

Modeus: I am sorry for all of this. (began to walk away)

Y/N: Where are you going?

Modeus: I do not know. Wherever the wind takes me I suppose. Dueling with Sparda was my brother's reason to live; but my brother was my reason to live. So now I have nothing.

Pyra: Modeus, listen to me. You're wrong, you don't have nothing.

Wendy: She's right. You have us.

Modeus: What do you mean?

Erza: Modeus, each of us here can understand all too well the pain of losing a loved one.

Erza remembered Jellal, Simon, and Rob. Lucy remembered her mother; Wendy remembered Grandeeney and Cait Shelter; Raven remembered Summer, Y/N remembered his parents, Penny, and Pyrrha; and Natsu remembered Igneel and Lisanna. 

Lucy: But you'll heal, we'll help you.

Modeus: What are you saying?

Pyra: You don't have to be alone.

Y/N: (extended a hand towards Modeus) Come with us, be a part of Fairy Tail.

Modeus's face was one of surprise and shock. A small tear ran down from his left eye as he slowly reached and took Y/N's hand. 

Chapter 23 ended.

I know this is different from how the episode in the anime went, but I really like Modeus, and I do have plans for him. He is now a part of Fairy Tail, so you can expect to see more of him soon.
