Our group is still in shock after what happened. They return to the remnants of the Origami Acre.

Jaune: I don't understand! First Alyx, then the Paper Pleasers, now Ruby! What does this place want? I don't understand... What did I do wrong?

Weiss: We can figure this out. There's got to be a way to the Tree.

???: Hello there.

They turn and find a small red Afteran made of crystal.

Afteran: Sorry to bother you but do you need help? Something to eat?

Jaune: No... Thank you. What are you?

A yellow one walks up.

Yellow Gem: We're the Genial Gems.

They wade through the water and create a crystal structure from the water.

Blake: It's them. They're back.

Yang: They came back from the Tree, better.

Y/N: No fire or water can hurt them again.

Jaune: This... Is what they were meant to be. And I stopped them because I wanted to be a hero...

Weiss: I think you're asking too much of yourself.

Jaune: Maybe the Cat was right. Maybe I just needed to accept it. It's not a place you go.

Your group ends up suddenly in the Tree.

Blake: What?

Y/N: It's a place you know...

After some time spent climbing, our group enters the Tree and finds wooden statues of Afterans.

Y/N: Guess this is how they ascend...

You notice the statue of the Herbalist. It breaks open and the Herbalist, now in a butterfly-like form, flies off.

Yang: Over here!

Yang finds a statue of Ruby. It stands solemnly with its hands clasp.

Yang: Ruby...

You hear a new noise and the group finds the Cat possessed Neo trying to go through a strange doorway.

Cat: Why isn't this working?!

Weiss: Ahem!

The Cat turns and glares at the group.

Cat: Oh... You made it.

Weiss: I'm guessing your plan isn't going how you want?

Cat: You were always the worst one...

Jaune: Neo can't go through...

Cat: Indeed... It seems this host doesn't have anything back in your world to return to. She doesn't wish to return... She failed me. Just like Alyx!

Jaune: What do you mean?

Cat: The wretched, cowardly girl whose story you've been following! I followed her because she promised to take me with her to Remnant. But in truth, she had no intention of taking me there! No, after talking to the Tree, she had a sudden crisis of conscience! She decided she wanted to fix everything she broke in the Ever After! Including poor Jaune! The group draws their weapons and you put on your Driver.

Blake: What did you do?

Cat: What you do with anything useless and broken.

To make its point, it picks up a piece of wood and crushes it in Neo's fist.

Jaune: You monster!

The Cat turns Neo's arms into large claws but notices Ruby.

Cat: She's still here... Yes! All my work isn't for nothing! Deep down, she wants nothing more than to return and play the hero! I just need to cut her out and she will take me there!

Weiss: You aren't touching her!

Cat: Then I'll put you in the ground!

You run at the Cat.

Cat: Please... You really think-

Your eyes glow pink and your fist phases into Neo's body.

Cat: Gah! What?!

You see a young Neo sitting inside a bedroom.

Y/N: What the?!

You get knocked aside by the Cat and Weiss catches you.

Weiss: What was that?

Y/N: I... I think I just looked into Neo's heart...

Blake: Vice?

Vice: I had nothing to do with it. I think it was his Semblance.

Y/N: Hell of a time for it to turn up...

Yang: We'll worry about that later! We need to keep this thing away from Ruby!

Cat: Don't you get it? When she comes out, she may not even be your sister anymore!

It creates zombified Ruby clones.

Blake: Then will accept her regardless.

Vice: Yeah!

Y/N: Let's go!

Y/N: Henshin!

Kamen Rider! Revice!

You transform and launch yourself at the Cat and attack, only to get knocked away. Weiss creates a Glyph for you to land on midair and propel yourself at the creature again with the Rolling Vistamp ready.

Knuckle Up!
Rolling Rider Punch!

You shatter what turns out to be an illusion and the Cat appears and Jaune lunges.

Jaune: All this time I thought Alyx made it and lied about this place! But you were the one who killed! Who lied!

Cat: You were never the brave knight either! Just more fairytale nonsense!

Jaune goes for a finishing strike but the Cat uses Neo's Semblance to turn into Penny, distracting him.

Revice: Jaune!

This is long enough for a clone of Pyrrha to strike him from behind. Weiss goes to attack the cat with a fireball but the Cat uses another illusion, sending the fireball right at Jaune. He uses his shield to block but gets sent flying over the edge.

Weiss: No!

You strike the Cat and send it flying as Weiss and Yang use a combo attack but the Cat jumps back. You go to attack again but a branch falls down between you.

Jaune: The leaves! Burn the leaves!

Revice: Right!

You remove the Thunder Gale Stamp and scan the Lion Vistamp with it.

Charge!
Lightning Tornado!

You send a wave of fire at the branch and Weiss uses her Glyphs to send the smoke towards the Cat.

Cat: Ah! Taking a page out of the caterpillar's book?

It breathes in the smoke.

Cat: The smoke doesn't affect me!

Jaune: Maybe.

Revice: But what about Neo?

The Cat grabs its head.

Cat: No! These regrets! These feelings! I can't... I can't!

The smoke obscures the Cat and after a few seconds Neo comes out running, back to normal. But when the smoke clears, the Cat has taken on a large monstrous form. It leaps and sends all five of you backwards.

Revice: Time for Round 2!

You charge with the Revislasher and hold back the Cat so the others can recover. But a miracle arrives as Ruby's statue explodes in a bright light and Ruby comes out with Crescent Rose ready.

Yang: Ruby!

Blake: You're still you!

Jaune: She knew what she wanted to be all along...

Cat: HAHAHAHA!!! How... PURRFECT!

It knocks you aside and lunges but Ruby counters and attacks in a flurry of slashes.

Revice: Let's give it hell!

The Cat fires off a blast but Blake dodges and slashes, followed by a powered up punch from Yang. Weiss freezes its feet in place and launches a Nevermore summon at it but the monster destroys it with a second beam.

Revice: Now...

Revice & RWBY: Let's do this in one shot!

You knock the Cat into the air as Weiss surrounds it in a sphere of Glyphs. Team RWBY flies around the Cat, bouncing off the Glyphs to deliver devastating strikes before you prepare a finisher.

Bakubaku Revistrike!

You Rider Kick the Cat into the ground and it reverts to its smaller form.

Cat: You're broken! You break everything you touch! Weak! Confused! Incomplete!

Weiss: You're wrong.

Yang: She's never been any of those things.

Blake: That's why we follow her.

Ruby: We're going to Remnant. And you're staying here.

The group walks past the Cat and it goes to attack but is pounced on by Neo's Jabberwalker clones.

Cat: No! No no no! NOOOOO!

The Cat is mauled and Neo nearly falls over from exhaustion. As all of you hug Ruby, you notice Neo and walk over to her.

Y/N: Neo... Are you going to be okay?

Neo looks down a hole within the Tree and you somehow understand.

Y/N: Is that your plan?

She nods.

Y/N: I'm sure you'll find your own path.

Neo bows to you and the others before jumping, using her umbrella to float down into the Tree. Above the hole, a statue of Neo forms.

You turn towards the door but you notice Ruby's sad expression.

Y/N: Ruby?

Ruby: I... Didn't see Little... I wanted to say thank you.

Blake: Do you think we made things worse for the Ever After?

Ruby: I don't know... But I hope we at least did a little good.

?????: Wait!

A humanoid mouse the size of a child runs up.

Ruby: Little?

Mouse: Do I know you?

Ruby: Oh! Uh I don't think we've met yet. Please, what are you?

Mouse: I'm... Well... I don't think I've thought about it yet. You look like you have your wits about you. What do you think I am?

Ruby: Well... You seem like a friend.

Blake: A guide.

Weiss: A protector.

Yang: A...dorable.

Mouse: Hm... Somewhat. Yeah. Somewhat. I'm not any one thing. I'm somewhat of a lot of things!

Somewhat bows.

Ruby: You've already done more for us than you know.

Somewhat: You do seem familiar. Like... A pleasant dream I can't remember.

Ruby: I'm glad we got to meet you but I'm sure you have a lot of people to help. We have to say goodbye.

Ruby hugs the mouse.

Vice: Oh! I'm gonna cry!

He pulls a handkerchief out of nowhere and blows his... Nose?

Jaune: Hey, Somewhat. Can you look after Juniper? She means the world to me.

He hugs the giant Jackalope.

Somewhat: I will never leave her side.

Somewhat gets on Juniper's back and with a salute, the mouse rides away.

Y/N: Alright... Time to go.

The six of you enter the doorway and find yourselves in a weird spiritual plane. You notice a robotic looking blacksmith.

Blacksmith: Welcome to my workshop.

Yang: Is this the Tree?

Ruby: Something like that.

Jaune walks over.

Blacksmith: I've been expecting you for a long time.

Jaune: Well... I finally made it.

Blacksmith: And I'm glad you did.

Jaune: Can you... Answer a question? Is it true that Lewis was the one who left and... Alyx...

Blacksmith: Yes... Only Lewis returned home. The Girl Who Fell Through the World is how he wished the story happened.

The girls notice two dragon figures on the Blacksmith's table.

Weiss: Are those...

Ruby: The Brothers.

Y/N: Didn't know they were dragons.

Blacksmith: The Brothers were the Tree's earliest blossoms. The first inhabitants of the Ever After. Remarkable beings. Quite ambitious... The Tree did not foresee what they would become. But that's the joy of creating. The not knowing. Back then... The Ever After was wild and dangerous. The Brothers were meant to tame it. They were given destruction to clear the wilderness, creativity to imagine who and what could replace it... They made homes for them and gave them roles to play.

Weiss: If that's what they were... Why did they create Remnant? Us?

Blacksmith: The Brothers became curious... They wanted to do more. They designed their own creations in secret. Soon they realized their creations could do their job for them. To fix the Ever After and finish the job their first creation started.

Y/N: The Cat and the Jabberwalker...

Blacksmith: One of the brothers believed they disrupted the balance of this world, while the other refused to condemn their creations for their mistakes. The Ever After couldn't bear the Brothers' experiments. So the Tree gave them a doorway to a world of their own to create.

Jaune notices a knife on the table.

Jaune: Alyx's knife?

Blacksmith: When her life ended, she chose to leave a part of herself behind. A wish to fix what she had broken.

She hands the knife to Jaune and he returns to his younger self with white streaks in his hair.

Blacksmith: You...

She walks over to you.

Blacksmith: I've watched your journey. Your abilities. This is for you... Though it's incomplete.

The being hands you a strange device.

Y/N: Incomplete?

Blacksmith: I'm sure you will complete it when the time is right.

You pocket the device as a door of light appears.

Ruby: Where will this take us?

Blacksmith: Not where... When you're needed most.

The group begins walking through. First Jaune, then Blake and Yang, then Weiss and you. You find yourselves outside Vacuo and Ruby is the last to exit as you look at the airships around the Kingdom.

Y/N: We're here...
