It's a mostly calm afternoon. Teams RWBY, JNPR, and JADE sit together as you eat your lunch.

August: So how has everyone found Beacon?

Weiss: It isn't entirely what I expected but it hasn't been boring.

Yang: Probably not as cool as doing Fenix work on the side. How do you guys juggle school with that?

Daniel: I stick to a strict routine. Wake up at precisely 5 am, eat a healthy breakfast, exercise...

Emily: Please stop...

Y/N: Emi's never been much of a morning person.

August: The rest of us just do our best, not really anything special.

As you talk, Jaune gets pushed by Cardin of Team CRDL as he walks by.

Y/N: Why do you let him do that to you?

Jaune: What do you mean?

Pyrrha: Cardin. He's been picking on you since the first day of school.

Jaune: Who, Cardin Winchester? No. He picks on everyone.

You look over to see Team CRDL harassing a brunette Rabbit Faunus. The rest of the group notices as Cardin starts pulling on the girl's Rabbit ears.

Pyrrha: Atrocious...

Blake: ...

Vice: That guy's a demon in his own right.

Y/N: Hm...

August: Y/N?

You get up and walk over, tapping Cardin on the shoulder.

Cardin: Huh? What do you want?

Y/N: Can I ask why you're harassing her?

Cardin: Do I need a reason? Faunus are a bunch of animals. Why do you care anyway?

Y/N: Because I'm Remnant's number 1 busybody. And if I see something happening like this, I make it my business to stop it.

Cardin: And what are you gonna do? Fight me?

Vice: Ooh! This is going to be fun!

You grab an apple behind you and while Cardin isn't looking, you stamp it with the Rex Vistamp. You then give the apple to Cardin.

Y/N: No. Instead, here's a peace offering.

Cardin swipes the apple and you turn to leave.

Cardin: What a freak.

Cardin goes to bite the apple but...

Cardin: AGH!!!

Everyone looks to see the apple, now possessed by Vice has gained a mouth and bit Cardin on the nose. Cardin manages to pry the apple off his nose before he and his team run off, screaming about a demonic apple.

Emily: Did he...

August: I think he did...

You chuckle a bit and pick up the apple.

Y/N: Job well done, Vice.

You look at the Faunus girl.

Y/N: You alright?

??????: Um... Yeah. Did you...

Y/N: Yeah. Name's Y/N.

Velvet: I'm Velvet.

Y/N: If he starts giving you trouble again, I'll have your back.

Velvet: Thanks. But you really shouldn't risk getting in trouble.

Y/N: They were the ones screaming about a "demonic apple." I think I'll be alright. I'm going to go back to my lunch. Later.

You walk back over to your friends and siblings who all look at you.

Y/N: What?

Ruby: What...

Nora: WHAT WAS THAT?!

Vice possesses your Gundephone and you hold it up.

Vice: Just a little prank, Demon Style!

August: Was that really the best way to handle that?

Y/N: Would you rather have me fight Cardin?

Emily: Nora and I could break his legs.

Daniel: You shouldn't cause a scene. Aren't you the responsible older brother?

August: Y/N's never liked others getting bullied.

Emily: August used to have a bully in elementary school and Y/N went directly to the kid's parents about it. The kid never even looked at August again afterwards.

Yang: Woah.

Y/N: I just like helping people who need it.

After lunch, you go to History class where Doctor Oobleck is going on a hyper fast rant about the war between Faunus and Humans.

Oobleck: Mr. Arc! How did the Faunus defeat General Lagune and his army?

Jaune: Um... Uh...

He looks over to Pyrrha and sees her trying to silently give him the answer.

Jaune: Uh... Binoculars.

Pyrrha facepalms and Cardin chuckles.

Vice: BINOCULARS?! SERIOUSLY?

Oobleck: Incorrect... Mr. Winchester, perhaps you have the answer?

Cardin: Well I know training an animal is easier than a soldier.

Pyrrha: You're not the most open minded of individuals out there, are you, Cardin?

Cardin: What? You got a problem?

Pyrrha: No. I have the answer. It's night vision. Most Faunus have near-perfect vision in the dark.

Blake: General Lagune was inexperienced and tried to attack the Faunus in their sleep. His massive army was outmatched and the general was forced to surrender. Perhaps if he paid attention in class, he wouldn't be remembered as such a failure...

Vice: OOH! She's got some claws!

Cardin goes to get up from his chair but before he can do anything, Oobleck speaks up.

Oobleck: Mr. Winchester, please take your seat. You AND Mr. Arc will see me after class. Remember students, those who do not learn from history... Are doomed to repeat it.

After class you sit at a table in your team's dorm as you do homework.

Emily: Agh... Isn't there a Deadman we have to deal with? This is so dull...

August: We're students. This just comes with the territory.

As you finish your history homework, you hear Jaune and Pyrrha talking a bit.

Y/N: Hm...

Jaune: I lied... I got my hands on some fake transcripts... And I lied...

Pyrrha: Jaune...

Vice: That explains a few things...

Y/N: Vice.

This makes your Demon shut up. You close your workbooks and get ready for bed.

Your Thoughts: Team CRDL's room isn't that far from ours... I have a bad feeling...

Over the next few days, you notice Jaune hanging around Cardin and his team, primarily doing homework for them. You watch as Cardin has Jaune go to the library for them.

Y/N: Vice... We need to get involved...

Vice: What will we do?

You don't respond but get up, walking over to Cardin and his team.

Cardin: You again? What do you want?

Y/N: I imagine you heard Jaune talking to Pyrrha the other night. You're blackmailing him.

Vice: Wah?! That's low!

Cardin: So what? You gonna do something about it?

Y/N: Honestly, I didn't think you were smart enough to blackmail someone effectively.

Cardin: What was that?

August walks in and notices you.

August: Oh no...

Y/N: You heard me. By the way...

You turn to leave, looking over your shoulder at team CRDL.

Y/N: Don't underestimate Jaune... There's a bit more to him than meets the eye.

With that, you walk off as Vice blows a raspberry at Cardin. August watches as you leave.

August: Y/N...

The next day, Goodwitch takes everyone to the Forest of Forever Fall, where she tasks the teams to gather sap and kill any Grimm that attack. You fill a jar of sap as Vice watches.

Vice: I wonder how this stuff tastes...

Y/N: Vice, focus. Do you see Jaune and Cardin?

Your Demon looks around and points at a hill.

Vice: They're over that way. I smell 'em!

Y/N: That's what I thought...

Emily: Y/N?

Daniel: Are you alright?

You turn to your team.

Y/N: Yeah but I think I heard an Ursa over that way. Vice and I'll handle it.

Daniel: Should we provide support?

Y/N: Nah. Just make sure Nora doesn't eat our sap.

You run the direction Vice pointed out and see Jaune being held by his collar by Cardin, who has sap splattered on his armor.

Y/N: Stop!

Cardin goes for a punch but there's a sudden white flash.

Vice: MY EYES!!!

The light dies out to reveal Jaune's Aura healing his injuries.

Y/N: Woah...

Team CRDL tries to pin the blonde down but there is a loud roar.

Your Thoughts: You've gotta be kidding me...

Two very large Ursae with more bone armor come out of the forest.

Vice: Uh oh...

Y/N: Vice, let's go! Henshin!

Rex! Buddy Up! Revi! Vice! Revice!

You block one Ursa's claws with the Ohinbuster while Vice grabs the other one by the arm and judo flips it.

Revi: AGH!!!

You start pushing your Ursa with all your strength into a deeper part of the forest.

Vice: Huh? What about this one!?

Vice looks at Jaune and shrugs.

Vice: You got this.

Jaune: Wait what?

With that, your Demon runs after you as you knock the large Grimm back. It goes for a slash but you leap over its arm and kick it in the face.

Revi: It's strong but we're stronger!

You remove the Rex Vistamp from your Driver and hold up a new one.

Mammoth!

You stamp the Driver and get ready to change forms.

Come on! Ma-Ma-Mammoth!

Come on! Ma-Ma-Mammoth!

Buddy Up! Kyodai na kiba motsu! Riku no boss! Mammoth! Hanakkara climax da ze!

Vice drops the stamp on you as you both change forms.

Vice

Vice: Ore... Vice...

You grab the new blade weapons the form provides and slash at the Ursa. The Grimm goes for another slash but Vice uses his arm shields to block and push it back.

Vice: Time for that?

You nod and activate the Remix sequence.

Remix! Buddy Up! Hissatsu! Dosudosu! Taosu! Mammoth!

The two of you run across a railway that appear at your feet and slam into the Grimm multiple times, knocking it into a tree.

Revi: Time to finish this! Let's do it in one shot!

Vice and you separate and you prepare a finisher. Your blades begin to glow as Vice's shields do the same.

Mammoth! Stamping Finish!

Vice punches the ground as you throw your blades. This causes several shields to appear around the Ursa, allowing your blades to bounce off the shields and into the monster. You catch the blades as the shields stack up over its head.

Vice: 3! 2! 1!

The shields drop onto the creature's head and kill it. You sigh and de-transform.

Y/N: Wait! Vice! You left Jaune with the other Ursa!

Vice: You said we shouldn't underestimate him!

Y/N: You still left him with a massive monster with Cardin of all people as the only one to help him!

You run back only to see Jaune decapitate the other Grimm.

Y/N: Eh?

Vice: See? He had this!

You look over to see Pyrrha, Ruby, and Weiss. You notice Pyrrha lower her hand as a faint glow fades from it.

Your Thoughts: He had a bit of a helping hand.

Meanwhile...

Roman groans as he sits a Vistamp on a table.

Roman: This thing wasn't much help.

??????: That's because it was only Phase 1...

Roman turns to see Olteca.

Roman: Have any of you heard of knocking? And what do you mean "Phase 1?"

Olteca: Deadmans can potentially reach higher Phases for more strength. The Phase 1s are merely born from someone using a Vistamp on themselves...

Olteca picks up the Vistamp from the table and snaps his fingers, signaling a person to walk over.

Kong!

The green wearing man stamps the figure, allowing a new Kong Deadman to be formed. Olteca then hands the figure the Vistamp.

Olteca: But if used a second time...

Kong!

The figure presses the button on the stamp again, causing a piece of paper to unfold from the Kong Deadman's back.

Olteca: A further contract can be made...

The figure stamps the paper with the Vistamp, causing the Deadman to envelope them and transform into a new much more monstrous form.

Roman: Woah!

Olteca: This... Is Phase 2...
