Chapter 36
Chapter 36- Letter For Fate
"(Y/N), this is obviously a trap! You can't really believe what's on paper, right?!" Suki asked you as you searched around Iroh's tent for some paper and a brush.
"I don't care Suki, I'm going and I'm going alone," You sternly said and grabbed a brush.
"(Y/N), stop! You're not doing this alone!" Katara told you.
"Yeah Loud Mouth! Don't be like me and refuse help, this is suicide!" Toph huffed.
"At least being your mom with you!" Sokka walked forward.
"Yes! Please honey, I know this man has caused so much pain to me, but like you said, we need to face our problems of the past!" Your mother tried to convince you.
"Mom, you need to go with Sokka, Suki, and Toph. I'm going alone on this to find (S/N) and stop (B/N) once and for all!" You turned to face the Gaang.
In all honesty, you were scared, hopeful, and angry. Scared that your brother will be powerful at Sozin's Comet, hopeful that your sister might be alive, and angry at yourself that you forgot that he was still running around killing people.
"No, he caused all of this pain of mine, and even if you drag me with you, I'm going to fight him, even if I die at the end-!" You said, but then you got cut off by Sokka, who finally snapped at you.
"(Y/N), enough!! We lost you once to Azula, I lost you two times! We can't lose you again to him!!" Sokka shouted at you, feeling worried and angry.
"What will happen if you get ambushed and hurt! Or worse! We won't be there to protect you, or heal you! Please!" He grabbed your hands and brought it up to his chest.
He stared into your eyes, tears welling up slightly.
"Please (Y/N)... don't go," He whispered. You just looked down at the floor, taking a deep breath before taking your hands away.
"I know this might be a trap Boomerang," You told him.
"Even if she's really dead... even if he is lying just to lure me into a trap, I can't just let that man go and kill any more people, especially on Sozin's Comet," You told them, turning to face the group as you wiped tears away.
"I allowed my family to be the victim of his abuse, I am not going to let other people be victims too. He needs to go down and never be heard of again," You said with a determined look on your face.
Zuko stomped over to you, giving you an angry look, and you didn't look away from him.
"(Y/N)," He started, standing tall before you, before pulling you into a hug and burying his head against your neck.
"Please... be safe," He muttered, breathing shakily as you hugged him too. You felt other people getting in the hug, until the whole Gaang hugged you.
"I promise," You kissed his lips, and turn to kiss Suki's, the Toph's, then Katara's, then Sokka's.
"Nothing is going to get rid of me, remember?" You gave them a toothy grin.
"Now go and grey ready for your own fights, I need to do something important," You told them, and they hesitantly walked out the tent.
Not before your mother bugging you one more time and kissing your forehead.
"Take him down for the family," She whispered, and walked out. You turned to see Twig peeking through the tent and looked up at you.
"Come on," You tilted your head and he ran to climb your arm to sit on your shoulders.
"I heard you needed some paper," You heard Iroh as he walked inside his tent.
"Yeah," You bowed as he gave you a blank scroll.
"Before I go, I want you to give the Gaang a letter," You turned to him with a stern look, and Iroh nodded, watching with seriousness.
"At the village with the volcano, I had a hint to the future, and this will be it," You told him as your spread out the blank piece of scroll paper.
"This is important, because in this letter, it'll be something I needed to tell them for a long time," You pulled out the brush.
"The war will end, I know it, because Aang will stop the Firelord. And when he does, you have to read it to them," You said and dipped the brush into ink.
"If this letter reveals how you feel on the inside, then I'll hold onto it with my life," Iroh bowed as you kept on writing what was in your heart.
"Thank you Iroh," You turned your head and smiled at him softly, before turning back and continued to write.
Nodding in satisfaction, you rolled the scroll up and tied it up.
"Here, keep it safe until the war ends. Thank you for everything Iroh," You said as he gently grabbed it, placing it in his pouch.
"It's been a pleasure being in your company," He bowed as you grinned your bag and walked out the tent.
"And (Y/N)," You stopped and turn to Iroh, who gave your a smile.
"Best of luck to when you fight your past. That man will face justice," You grinned back at him and gave thumbs up.
"Good luck to you too, Iroh,"

"Nothing runs faster over land or swims quicker than a giant eel-hound. The airship base is on a small island just off the Earth Kingdom shore. You should be able to intercept the fleet within a day's journey," Piandao explained as Suki, Toph, and your mother got on top of the creature.
"Thank you, Master," Sokka bowed, then hugged Piandao tight.
You smiled at that and turned down to face your little buddy.
"Twig, I'm going to need you to go with the White Lotus, You'll be safer in Ba Sing Se than with me, I need you to be safe," You petted Twig on the head, but not before taking off your bandana and placing it around Twig's neck.
"To show that I trust you, okay buddy?" Twig cooed sadly, and hugged you with all his might, clawing gripping your shirt.
"I lost you once Twig, I'm not going to lose you again," You sniffed as he slowly let you go, giving you one last lick on the cheek before running off to the White Lotus, mainly Bumi.
You looked at Aang's staff that you held onto, gripping it tight as you petted the lion vulture gently, making it purr as you placed the staff behind your back.
'Just in case,' You thought, hoping Aang will return.
Zuko and Katara sat on Appa as Iroh stood next to the bison.
"So if I'm going to be Fire Lord after the war is over, what are you going to do?" He asked his uncle.
"After I re-conquer Ba Sing Se, I'm going to reconquer my tea shop and I'm going to play Pai Sho everyday," Iroh smiled and flipped his tile.
"(Y/N)," you turn to see the former general pull a lion vulture next to him.
"You might want to ride this. A lion vulture will get to any destination faster than any creature," He explained making you smile and bow to him.
"Thank you, I hope we could spend more time together after all of this, I really want to get some tea lessons from you," You gave him a toothy grin and hugged him, making the old man chuckle and hug you back. You let go and went to the Lion Vulture, who rubbed its head against you.
"May the spirits look upon you and wish you a safe journey (Y/N)," He told you, and you gave him a smile, hopping on the creature, who screeched out and adjusted to you sitting on its back.
"See you on the other side of the war guys, let's meet up at the Wulong forest, I want to show you this cool pond I always wanted to go to!" You yelled out to the gaang and your mother, who all turned and gave you smiles and thumbs up.
You pulled the reins to the lion vulture, and it spread its wings out, flapping them for a moment before taking off to the skies. Twig watched as you left to go stop your brother, and Iroh gave him a head pat before looking up to see you all split up.
"Goodbye, everyone. destiny is our friend. I know it,"
