Chapter 15- Failed The Mission

Sending a wave of lava towards the Dai Li agent, you dodged a rock pillar that was in front of you. The three of you fought the Dai Li agents as Aang fought Azula, which made you glad that he's the one who's confronting her. Azula then ran off into a tunnel with an agent.

"I can't pin her down, she's too quick!" Aang said as Toph quickly got rid of the agent in metal.
"Wait! Aang! (Y/N)! Toph! Stop attacking!" You heard Sokka shouted, and you all stopped to turn to him.

"Don't you see what she's doing? She's just playing with us. She's not even trying to win this fight!" He pointed out angrily.
"Not true. I'm giving it my all," Azula raised an eyebrow with a sly smile.

"You're trying to keep us here and waste all our time!" Toph pointed at her with a glare.
"Um, right, I think your friend just said that, genius. And since you can't see, I should tell you I'm rolling my eyes," Azula smirked, which made you furrow your eyebrows a little.

"I'll roll your whole head!" Toph spat out.
"She's just baiting you again," Sokka reassured her.
"So we just have to leave?" You asked him, a little worried about how much time you have for the eclipse.
"We don't have a choice. We just have to get out of here and find the Fire Lord on our own somehow," Sokka told you and started to walk off.

"It's a trap. Don't say I didn't warn you," Azula shrugged, but Sokka waved her off.
"Ignore!" He yelled.
"So, Sokka's your name, right? My favorite prisoner used to mention you and my darling (Y/N) all the time," That made you freeze, knowing one person who knows both you and Sokka.

Sokka froze too, turning back at her with a look of disbelief.
"She was convinced you were going to come rescue her. Of course you never came, and she gave up on you," Azula smirked, and your pushed your arm in front of Sokka, making sure he won't lash out.

"She also gave up when I told her that our wedding will begin at Sozin's Comet. Which will certainly happen (Y/N)~ just come back and the punishment will be lowered, just a little~" You narrowed your eyes at her, but Sokka then yelled out in anger as he pushed you behind him, charging at Azula.

"Come and get it," She smirked, and Toph then launched a rock to trap her wrist to the wall, where she dropped her shuriken.
"Boomerang!" You shouted in shock as he grasped her by the shirt and glared at her.
"Where. Is. Suki?!" He demanded, venom spitting out.

"Sokka don't!! I love Suki too, but we need to go! The eclipse is going to end!" You yelled and tried to pull him back, but he wouldn't budge.
"Where's our girlfriend?!" He spat out angrily.
"Our? Seems like my love became a little desperate after she left me," Azula simply smirked, which made Sokka's blood boil.

"Shut up and don't you dare talk to her!! Where's Suki?! Answer me!" He demanded out, it Azula wasn't walking again.
"Sokka, she won't talk," Aang tried to pulled him off too, but nothing worked.
"Where are you keeping her?!" He yelled again, and suddenly, you felt a jolt through your body.

"Guys!! The eclipse!!" You shouted, but it was too late.
"Oh, sounds like the firebending's back on," Azula said and immediately kicked a wave of fire at Sokka's way. He moved out of the way and you set a wall in front of you all as Azula broke out of her chains and jumped up.

"Dad's all the way at the end of the hall then down a secret stairway on the left. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to see you now," She pointed out, with a dark smile as her stare turned to you.
"This is not over love, just in another time," She smirked and ran off.

"I fell for it! I used up all our time!" Sokka said in dismay, but you hugged him.
"It's not your fault Boomerang, we both know it," You reassured him.
"Azula was ready for us. She had every move planned out," Toph piped in.

"And now it's too late," He mumbled.
"Maybe it's not too late. The eclipse is over. But I can face the Fire Lord anyway," Aang suggested as he turned to you.
"I think it's best that you don't face him," You told him, but he shook his head.
"But I'm ready! I came here with a job to do and everyone's counting on me," Aang argued.

"The Fire Lord knew we were coming this time. We thought we had surprise on our side but we didn't. It just wasn't our day. What we need to do now is go and help our friends," Toph explained as Aang looked down in defeat.
"I guess you guys are right," He gripped his staff tightly.

"You'll have another chance. I know you will,"

Twig cooed in fear as Appa flew down to the battalion where giant air ships were sailing their way.
"It was all a trap! Azula knew we were coming and she's plotted out every move! We've just got to get to the beach as fast as we can!" Sokka explained as you all hopped down.

"If we can make it to the submarines, maybe we can get away safely," You said as your mother hugged you.
"They've got air power, but so do I! I'm gonna do what I can to slow them down!" Aang sternly said and flew off with his glider.

"Appa, you and I can help too," Katara said as she got into Appa and flew off too.
"Everyone, let's get back to the subs!" Sokka shouted and you all retreated back. Twig screeched out and the stray tiger monkeys retreated back into their homes as he and the colony ran along your side.

"Try and find cover! I think we're about to see some bombs!" Sokka shouted and you and Toph smiled you all with a rock pillar. The bombed exploded above you and the air ships continued on to the beach.
"Why aren't they turning around to attack us again?" Katara wondered.

"They're heading for the beach," Aang noted, and you gulped.
"They're gonna destroy the submarines!" Your eyes widen.
"How are we all going to escape?" Sokka asked in frustration.
"We're not," Hakoda limped over with Bato and your mother helping him up.

"Then our only choice is to stand and fight. We have the Avatar, we could still win," Sokka argued with his dad.
"Yes, with the Avatar we could still win. On another day. You kids have to leave. You have to escape on Appa together," Hakoda shook his head and held his side.

"What? We can't leave you behind! We won't leave anyone behind!" Katara told him and you turned to your mom with a worried look.
"You're our only chance in the long run. You and Sokka have to go with Aang somewhere safe. It's the only way to keep hope alive," He explained.

"The youngest of our group should go with you. The adults will stay behind and surrender. We'll be prisoners, but we'll all survive this battle," Bato sighed.
"I've got some experience with the Fire Nation prisons. It's not going to be easy, but we'll get by," Tyro told them.

"They're at the beach already!" Sokka shouted, and you all watched as the air ships dropped bombs on the subs, and you closed your eyes as they exploded. You turned to your mother and hugged her tightly, tears falling down.
"I don't want you to go mom. We already lost so much, I can't lose you too," You mumbled through her shirt.

She hushed you calmly and wiped the tears away with her thumb, giving you a sad smile.
"There's no place you could go that I'm not there, neither is your father, nor your sister," She cooed, and petted Twig on the head.
"Prison may suck for a while, but soon, you'll make friends, I promise you that," You sniffed and gave her a smile.

"Don't worry hun, you don't get your fighting skills from your father anyways," You breathed out a laugh and let her kiss you on the forehead. Twig called the colony to get on Appa and Aang stood up to everyone else.
"Thank you all for being so brave and so strong. I'm gonna make this up to you!" He promised as Appa started to fly off.

You waved goodbye to your mother one last time before the bison was lead away from the place. Twig nuzzled you as the baby tiger monkey cooed sadly.
"I know just the place for us to go where we'll be safe for a while," Aang told everyone and led Appa down to the forests.
