Chapter 27: Confusion

Unfortunately at the moment I had Simran’s glaring eyes to worry about, oh and the fact she might go kill Andy but that’s not important. Note the sarcasm.

Stephanie’s POV:

We walked on in silence. I looked over at Simran a couple of times to see her deep in thought. The only thought I wanted to read, I can't. I glared at Kabuto.

On top of Simran's ‘depression’, I still don't and will not trust Kabuto. Every time I try and read his mind, it's as if he blocks me out. Either that or he just doesn't think at all, but I have a feeling that he isn't all that meets the eye.

Everyone was dead silent till Saukra screamed. Urgh I hate her high pitch screams. I curse the person that made her scream. I glared at her.

"That’s nasty!" Naruto exclaimed. I looked up at the giant centipede that Naruto had speared with a kunai. I sighed and Sakura punched my arm.

"What the F**k was that for!"

"shhh!" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not baka who screamed." I saw Sasuke smirk out of the corner of my eye. What was he smirking at?

Yeah I was in a bad mood but you can't blame me. Were in a forest, Simran was pissed at me and Sakura's annoying scream sounded every 5 seconds. I sighed for the thousandth time today.

"What's got you so depressed Missy?" 

I swear who ever called me Missy is in for the worst. I turned around to Sasuke.

"Life, duckbutt." he raised his eye brow at me. I walked on leaving everyone behind but Sasuke who walked next to me annoyingly. *exhale*

"Seriously what is up?" he whispered to me. I opened my mouth to speak but my eyes wondered to everyone walking towards us.

"Nothing." I said depressed again. I refrained all thoughts to sigh AGAIN.

We continued to walk on and on and on and you get the point. The stupid tower wasn't getting any closer and Simran and I had slow done agers ago.

We stopped walking. Sasuke turned around to me. He gave me a questioning look. I nodded my head towards the tree.

He sighed in unison with me. The rest of them turned around.

"That's just great." 

"What do you mean Kabuto?" Naruto asked while Sakura agreed curiously.

"Look up at the tree." looking up there nailed to the tree still squirming around was the same giant centipede, kunai attaching it. "We’ve been going round in circles."

"They have caught us already." Simran explained.

"Genjutsu." I mumbled under my breath. We mentally got ready for any attacks. Physically we tried to look as normal as possible to draw out the enemies.

"There waiting for us to become tired to we will become easy prey." Kabuto stated.

"Like we are now?" Sasuke asked.

"Exactly."

Simran’s POV:

Worst day EVER!!! Actually I might have had worse – not the point, the point is, I’m pissed and tired.

1. We are under some sh!t called Genjutsu. (?_?)

2. Andy’s running around ‘Naruto World’ *and near me* (-_-)

3. There is a giant bug squirming in front of me, AGAIN! (-_-) x2.

I’m mentally groaning almost every 5 seconds. ‘What I’m lazy’ ... and I’m talking to myself as if someone’s going to read my thoughts. Maybe someone can. Pft doubt it.

Just as I relaxed a kunai flew past me missing me by millimetres, no joke. Seriously there is no rest in this forest of death place. 

Every battle I’ve challenged myself to think of a battle catch phrase. I no it’s a pretty cheesy thing to do but eh I’m random. So far in the battles before it was ‘Cowabunga’ and ‘My Spider Sense is Tinglin’ - err not my best ones, they went with the moment though. Now I’m mad/piss/tired and this is the best I can come up with that fits this moment ‘It’s clobberin’ time’.

Stephanie's POV

Clones appeared left, right and center. They made sure there was no way out without having to go through their clones first.

"There's so many." Sasuke mumbled.

And he was right. I counted at least 30 of them. Naruto ran up to one and punched it. His fist went right through the clone and it reformed into 2 clones.

Make that 31. =_= 

“Just great.” -_- sarcasm stuck to my voice. *sigh* I took out a kunai and went to stand ready to fight when I got a sudden stabbing pain in my throat. I fell onto my hands and knees. Coughing up blood.

0_0 WTF! What now! 

“Stephanie?!” Simran and Naruto yelled.

“HAHA looks like one of your team members are down!” The enemies laughed.

“You! What did you do!?” Naruto yelled running towards another clone.

“NARUTO! Don’t make the situation worse! I’m fine.” I gave him a smile as a lied. I sure as hell was not ‘fine’. My vision had a slight blur but I was still able to see. I tried to stand. Wrong decision. Dizziness immediately over came me as soon as I moved. Sasuke helped me up. My knees were wobbly. And it was hard to remain standing. He sat me down under a tree. Naruto continued to fight with Sasuke as in and out back up.

“If it wasn’t an attack from them then… It must be the side effects of the plant you were all talking about earlier.” Kabuto spoke. “Sakura, do you know the name of that plant that was given to her?”

“um, er … no sorry.” 

“So you took a random plant from a random guy?” Simran asked raising her eye brows

“Um…yer.”

“…You’ve got to be kidding me”

“haha…*cough* Nice to no you love me that much *cough*” I tried to lighten the mood just a tad. 

“Side effects of the well known plants in this region are usually known as painful yet short lasting.” Kabuto said thinking aloud. I cringed in pain and before I knew it I was being carried away by Sasuke into hiding.

Naruto had made some kind of plan… I think. I tried to look around to see if I was right when a burst of pain, more painful then the others shot through my back. I bit down on my bottom lip to stop myself from yelping out in pain. 

I heard soft whispers of my name before I felt someone hit the back of my neck and fell into the darkness.

Simran’s POV:

“What the hell was that for!?” I whispered angrily.

“If she continued she would have given our spot away. Now shut up!” Kabuto snapped back, still whispering.

“I will not shut up! You have no right to-“

“Simran, I agree but argue with him after we beat them.” Sasuke said calmly. Maybe a bit too calm. 

“Tsk.”

Stephanie’s POV:

I felt as if I was going to be sea sick. The bouncing up, down, left, right was giving me the image that I must have been on a boat. I forced my eyes open slowly to see if I really was on a boat, but instead I opened my eyes to something completely different. The back of Sasuke head -_-. As interesting as the back of his head was, all cool and duckbuttish, it was not to sight I was expecting to see. 

Any who, here I am being carried by Sasuke -_- … … … 0_0 Carried by Sasuke?!! What the frigit?!!

I pulled my hand up to my eyes and rubbed then to see if I was seeing things. 

0_0 Nope. 

At this point Sasuke knew I was awake. “Sasuke why are you carrying me??”

He smirked. “Why did you want someone else to?”

“Not what I meant! … wait I mean it's not like I wanted you to carry me but don’t take that the wrong way either! … arg I’m confusing myself.” I blushed

His smirk grew wider. I placed my head against his back. “So… Why are you carrying me again?” I wanted my answer.

“haha I see, you wanted to be left behind.” 

“Sasuke~” I whined

“His carrying you because Kabuto knocked you out!!” Simran spat glaring at Kabuto. 

“oh.”

“I only did it to save your life. Next time I won’t help!” Kabuto retorted

“Good!”

“Geez… there so noisy.” Sasuke mumbled to himself.

I giggled. Everything went silent for a while and then something accrued to me.

“Umm… Sasuke?”

“Yes?”

“When are you going to put me down?...” I thought I saw a slight blush crawl onto his cheeks but it must have been the lighting. I mean Sasuke, blush, don’t make me laugh! He put me down and I smiled.

“Thank you.” He walked on in front, and before I knew it Sakura walked up to me. Oh no…

“Just because Sasuke was carrying you don’t get any ideas. After all he is ‘Mine’.” She spat.

“I swear Sakura you will never learn.” I shook my head. Simran who was walking next to me also sighed and said.

“Sasuke will fall in love with you the day I grow a beard.” … maybe.

“You’re a girl Simran you won’t grow a beard.” Sakura retorted ‘smartly’.

“Exactly. Means you have no hope in hell.” Sakura stuck her nose in the air and walked off. Simran stroked her invisible beard. “Sadly… I really want to grow a beard.” 

“haha, but if you do Sakura will grow an ego … maybe bigger than Sasuke’s” I whispered the last bit. She giggled and we walked on.

There was a rustling in the bushes and two men in masks and glasses popped out. 

“Oh it’s only you two.” Kabuto said.

“You’re late.” One of the men stated.

“We ran into some trouble.”

“But thanks to you we got the scrolls.” Naruto said with his cheesy grin. Even though he helped us there is still something I don’t trust about him.

“No it was all you guys, mostly you Naruto.”

“Well good luck. Were going to go through this door.” 

“Yeah!” Naruto shouted as we walked through our door.

When we walked through the doors there was a sign and we opened both scrolls to have Iruka sensei appear in front of us. After a long inspiring speech we lined up with everyone else in our teams to hear the Anko speak. 

“First off Congratulations!” She yelled. There were a total of 8 teams. There were a couple of unfamiliar faces like the new addition to Gara’s team. She had Smokey blue/green eyes and from what I hear she seems to like Gara…A LOT!

There was also another team I didn’t know. It was a team that consisted two males and one female. They were Leaf ninja. The first Male was tall and had black hair and green eyes; he looked quite serious and strong. Then there was a girl with dirty blond hair and blue eyes she was definitely fond of the male. And last but not least Andy, who stood tall.

‘I’m Hungry!’ ‘Sasuke’s team passed!’ – Great, I’m hearing thoughts uncontrollably. Ugh. My head was thumping. Something always interrupts me when I’m thinking

“Urg. Can everyone stop thinking?” I whisper so low only Sasuke who was behind would hear… if he was listening. Simran seems to be able to control the thoughts she hears 24/7. I wonder how…

“You okay?” Sasuke whispered to me

“I just wish everyone would stop thinking so much…” He smirked.

‘Why is that brown haired chick flirting to Sasuke!?’ URGH I’M NOT FIRTING!!! … I hate you Ino.

“Hokage will explain the third and final test! Listen carefully!” Anko Yelled again.

The Hokage stepped forward and begun to ramble on about reason for the exams. I was too busy trying to block out everyone’s thought let alone actually listen to the Hokage speak. I was completely knocked out of my consecration as soon as I heard someone named Hayate cough.

I groaned, what did I miss…? “Before the third test there is something I would like you to do. A preliminary round. It will decide who is participating in the main event.” Great…-_-

Everyone started to shout and ask questions. I figure his going to tell us so listen and ask at the end and guess what… he did.

“Um…so anyway is there anyone who is unable to participate and would like to quit?” After a moment of silence, Kabuto raised his hand. As he was walking to the back to the door I caught a couple of words. They were not spoke. No… I heard those thoughts he was keeping hidden. It seemed that the barrier slipped for I spilt second so I hear two deadly words.

‘Lord Orochimaru.’
