Chapter 24: The Snake That Was Too Strong

“Of course she did.” I said with a sigh.   

I lent against the tree Naruto and I stood on, arms crossed.

“You idiots run away you don’t know what you’re up against.” Sasuke shouted at us. What had got him so scared? My eyes widened when a name and only that name stuck in my head. Orochimaru. As much as I knew getting everyone away from here would be the best option, I knew that I wouldn’t be possible. Plus how else would I test my newly given power. A smile appeared on my face.

“So Naruto you manage to escape my little friend.” she said...wait Orochimaru’s a he.

“Tell me. How was he little?” I asked as a rhetorical question. He laughed.

“Okay okay, I don’t know what’s going on here but you been picking on my friends and I don’t like that. So you better go on and slither back into your hole before I make a pair on shoes out of you.” Naruto yelled pointing at him. Sasuke tensed

“I’ll take the shoes if no one what’s them.” Simran said sarcastically. Sasuke loosened up a tad.

“You can have it.” Sasuke yelled. Everyone’s face looked shocked, my eye narrowed Sasuke what are you doing now? Sasuke slowly reached into is Ninja pouch and grabbed the scroll out. “The scroll right, that’s what you want.” He said tossing it hand to hand. “Take it and leave us in peace.” Naruto’s jaw dropped, Sakura’s and I eyes widened from shock and Simran tilted her head in confusion.

“Sasuke...” Naruto begun to whine. “You’re just going to let ‘em have the scroll?! You-!” I raised my hand to silence Naruto.

“Very sensible. Sometimes the helpless pray have to distract the predator with something even more precious.” Orochimaru hissed. Narrowing my eyes again I got ready to move.

“Take it.” He said throwing the scroll. I disappeared reappearing to catch the scroll. I stared to walk towards Sasuke, my footsteps clanking against the tree.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING STEPH?! THIS IS NO TIME TO ACT LIKE THE DAM HERO!” Sasuke yelled at me. “LISTEN TO ME.” Tsk I punched him across the face. He lost footing and took a couple of steps back to re gain his balance. I looked up at Naruto he was fuming with anger. May as well let him, I he him a slight nod that he would only see.

Naruto jumped down to the branch I was on and punched Sasuke sending Sasuke so far back he had to swing on to another branch. “What the hell you two!” Sakura yelled.

“I my not know the password, but at least I know who I am!” Naruto yelled at him still angry as even if not more so I’m his harsh words that I knew was coming next.

“What do you mean it him, don’t be so stupid.” Sakura yelled.

“Sakura, shut up.” I said sending daggers her way.

“It’s me you loser!” Sasuke yelled

“Lair. Lair you may look and sound just like him but you’re not to Sasuke I know. When did you become such a wimp?! You keep telling me that I don’t understand but I do, you’ve cocked, that’s it!”

Orochimaru laughed and got up. “Sad but true. As far the scroll I can just kill you and take it.”

Naruto clenched his teeth. And ran for Orochimaru, kunai in hand but was blown back by the strong wind of the summoning jutsu. The giant snake smashed to tree causing me to jump beside Sasuke.

“Careful, he like to play with his food.” He hissed as the tail of the snake broke the tree branch causing Naruto to fall. “Naruto!” the snake threw him up in the air. “That’s enough playing around, Finish him.” He hissed.

Naruto flipped and begun punching the snake continually. “Woh, where did he get all that power.” The nine tails. Orochimaru laugh and blew fire at Naruto sending him flying. “Now lets see how you do Sasuke.” He said heading his way. I appeared in front of him stopping the snake with my sword.

“All this noise has given me a headache.” I said bringing my other hand to my face. “Tell me, I’m curious what exactly do you intended to do with the scrolls...Orochimaru.” I looked up as I spat his name.

He began to laugh, the horrible, evil laugh. Simran jumped up to the same branch as I stood on along with Naruto who looked furious. “You okay scaredy cat?” He asked Sasuke mockingly. “Standing there frozen, have a girl come to your rescue your defiantly not the Sasuke I know!”

I put my hands on my hips. “What do you mean ‘a girl’?” I asked. Was he implying that I’m weak because of my gender? He ignored me. My eyes widened as Orochimaru’s tongue wrapped around Naruto.

“Naruto!” I yelled as I went to grab him. I clenched my teeth as my hands slipped pass his. I pulled my sword out of the snake and got ready to attack, Simran did the same. Orochimaru’s fingers had purple flames on them. What is he doing now? My eyes widened in shock as I heard Naruto grunt in pain as Orochimaru punched his fingers into Naruto stomach. He threw Naruto a side like he was a piece of trash.  The already enraged fire burning inside burst into a flame that could take down the whole forest.

I was so angry steam could have started coming out of my ears. This only made me become faster in my movements. I jumped up and slashed my sword at Orochimaru.

“Steph, you’re going to get yourself killed!” Sasuke yelled. He caught it with his hand; I clenched my teeth as I tried to over power him.

“Start getting your act together. If I die his coming after you next.” I said hinting a good luck and good-bye. I had a sad smile on my face, but was soon back to glaring at Orochimaru. Blood trickled down his hand, he Clenched his teeth as he begun to loose footing and was forced back. I ducked as Simran punched him from behind sending him a couple of trees back. Despite the blow he landed flat footed.

“Simran.” I said with a soft smile. She looked shocked but soon returned the smile.

“I understand.” She got my message ‘Look after them.’ I ran after Orochimaru. Again slicing my sword his way he dodged and made some hand signs. He blew fire my way and I jumped down off the tree branch to dodge his attack. I landed back a couple of branches. I place my sword back into it cover that I carried on my back. Orochimaru follow me to the branch as expected. I was ready and threw some Shuriken his was whilst in mid air. He disappeared in a blur and my eyes wonder madly searching for him.

“You know you have your mother’s courage.” My eyes widened in shock, not only from the mention of my mum but he had appeared right behind me. I swang my fist around to punch him but my fist was caught. Out of anger I immediately kicked him in the jaw. He skited back and spat to the side of him. I stood my ground and narrowed my eyes getting ready for any sudden moments.

“You’re so interesting. You and Simran both. As if you’re not from this world.” He laughed “Isn’t that right Stephanie?” I tighten my fists, how did he know? Was it a guess or was he being serious? I’m lost for words, what do I do now?

“Ahh did I just trip a wire. So my thoughts are right you’re not from this world.” His smiles grew as I stepped back, He continued laughing. His laughed imprinted in my head, for the first time in my life I was truly scared. I looked back at Simran and took a deep breath.

I ran back up to Orochimaru sending rapid punches and kicks his way. He managed to dodge or block them like it was nothing. “Give up, what ever you do, you can not defeat me.” I clenched my fist and punched him causing him to fly back into a tree. I quickly made some hand signs. Orochimaru slowly got up.

Electricity flowed through me. I placed my hands on the ground. The electricity cut threw the ground in the direction of him. A blade of lightening sliced trough Orochimaru’s left arm. Dam missed.

His figure begun to melt I gasped from the shock. “I told you. You can’t beat me.” Screamed of pain as something sliced through my shoulder.
