Sketch POV
Previously on Sketch POV:
I hear the girls' barefoot and bloody feet slowly walking down the hallway while she is quietly singing 'Ring Around the Rosie'. Her footsteps and singing draw nearer to me.
"Ring around the Rosie..," she sings.
"Pockets full of Posies..," she continues, walking closer and closer to me.
"Ashes... Ashes...."
"We all.. fall....."
Flashback End
"..DOWN!" The girl finishes, walking around the corner.
I pretend to still be passed out, hoping that she doesn't bother me. I try not to wince at the constant pain because I don't know what will happen if she realizes I'm not actually passed out. I hear rattling chains next to me.
"LET ME GO!" The voice pleads.
This voice is incredibly familiar to me.. It's.. Denis! I still pretend to be passed out, in case anything happens. To my delight and surprise, she leaves the room. Once I know the coast is clear, I open my eyes.
"Ppst! Denis!" I whisper.
"Elijah! You're alive!" He whispers back.
I wince in pain again, and Denis seems to notice.
"Are you ok?" He asks.
He looks down at my leg.
"Thats looks really painful!" He says.
"It is, but you don't look too good yourself. Let's worry about that later. Right now, we have to escape," I declare.
"You're right," he agrees.
After a moment of silence while me and Denis are thinking, he gets an idea.
"I have an idea! My hands get sweaty really easily," He whispers.
"What does that have to do with anything?" I ask.
Suddenly, his hands slip out of the chains.
"Oh my gosh! Who would have ever thought that your sweaty hands would come to the rescue?" I jokingly whisper, with a newfound happiness that we might be able to escape.
"Very funny Elijah. We have to be serious though. This is a life or death situation," He replies.
"Right.. Sorry..," I say, realizing that he's right.
I hear tiptoeing down the hallway again. Denis also seemed to hear it because he started panicking too.
He was out of the chains, and the girl would notice. It probably won't turn out too well if she sees him trying to escape. I realize that he can't slip back into the chains because he was already halfway across the room, trying to undo my chains.
If he walked across the room, she would hear his footsteps. Her footsteps kept getting closer and closer, as me and Denis's heart rate kept beating faster and faster.
