It was now April, which means that Dream and I were going on our road trip together, Tessa and I were going strong, (or so I thought, yeah I'll talk about that later on), and everything was in place, I even made sure that I had finished the work for school so that I didn't have to go to summer school, (because I would rather die than go to Summer school, ya know).

We were driving to Philadelphia, because even though it was only like 100 miles away from New York, we had actually never been there, (I don't know why, we just hadn't been there before), so Dream and I decided that Philly was our first designation, (this was planned while Dad was alive).

"Dream!"
"What Laceybuns?"
"I feel like we need to start this road trip right by blasting this song out!"
"Is it going to make my ears bleed?"
"Fuck no Gaylord, we both actually have an alright singing voice, duh!"
"I'm just asking Lesbo"

I put on some music, since Dream was driving, I then started singing and dancing in my seat, (though it was to specifically to annoy Dream but I do also like dancing), (though that's just what besties do to each other here Babes).

"Jesus Christ Laceybuns, you're expecting me to do the yeahs here, aren't you?"
"Of course Gaylord!"
"Fuck me!"
"Nah thanks, I'm a lesbian babes"
"Not literally you fucking Lesbian!"
"Piss off Gaylord!"

Dream and I were singing like it was nobody's business and then after like a minute we just started laughing our heads off, just because we have a weird sense of humour, (though I wouldn't have it any other way).

"To be fair to you here Laceybuns, that did actually start the road trip right"
"See, I told you bitch!"
"Right, get back to your map reading duty Lesbo"
"Oh you can fuck right off Gaylord"
"Nah I'm gay"
"(Snorts), Who's mind is in the gutter now Dream?"
"I can't have that single triumph-"
"(Snorts), I wouldn't call it a triumph but ok"

A few hours later, and we had arrived in Philadelphia, much to my shock as Dream was a shit driver for someone who had passed their driver's test, (just don't tell him that I said that though, as he would be quite insulted).

"Can I sing the fresh prince of bel air yet?"
"Are you serious Laceybuns?"
"Duh Gaylord, fucking duh"
"No"
"Why not?"
"Because I said so"
"Ok then spoil sport"

So after that joy kill, Dream and I grabbed some lunch, as we were hungry, (and we had been driving for most of the morning, ya know), plus it was a road trip, therefore you eat all the food, (as that's like a big part of the fun here).

So we found this nice and quiet diner, (as Dream and I really like a proper milkshake), (yes, we were just really big kids in adult bodies here, ok), so naturally Dream and I sat at a table, (mostly for the milkshake to be honest, but we did have lunch there).

"So Gaylord"
"Yeah Lesbo"
"You kind of had a plan about this with Dad, right?"
"Yeah sort of, where is this going Laceybuns?"
"What else did he have planned for us then Softie?"
"I can't tell you that just yet Lacey"
"And why's that Dream?"

Dream looked like a deer in headlights, as he's not the best at hiding stuff or keeping stuff a surprise in general to be honest with you here, (not that I'm much better at it, but I at least attempted to have a poker face here, ya know).

"Because I promised a dead man that I wouldn't tell you until it happened"
"(Snorts), Of course he had you promise him to not to tell me, that sounds like something he would say to you"
"Yeah well he was a man of many surprises"
"Like unofficially adopting you, you know that he would've officially adopted you had you let him?"

Dream just gave me a sad smile and shrugged, as I guess that he didn't really know what else he could do, (as there wasn't a lot else that he could do), (if he wasn't driving right then, I would've hugged him).

"(Sighs), That would have been nice but then I would be stuck in New Mexico with you if he did adopt me Laceybuns"
"Well yeah I guess that you have a point, but you could have Grandma's peanut butter cookies more often"
"That's true, and I wouldn't miss you as I would be there with you"
"I miss you too, but enough of that, we are going to have almost no time apart until September"
"Fuck yeah! the road trip and then Summer jobs away from our Moms!"
