It was Friday, which meant that I was going out with Tessa, (since it was the beginning of the weekend and all that jazz), so I was getting my best outfits ready, because I wanted to look my best, (and it was my first date like ever so I was nervous as shit about it).

I was ready for the date by 6.30pm, because I guess I don't take as long as I thought I did when getting ready, (which I was surprised by to be honest with you here), (well I'm not surprised now as an adult as I hate the thought of being late to anything), but so I texted Dream while I waited to be picked up by Tessa.

I was giggling to myself at Dream's reaction, because he's so fucking entertaining here, (though when is he not entertaining here, ya know), then I heard a car beep outside, which was my cue to leave the house, (as Tessa was here, ya know).

"Hey the- wow"
"(Laughs), I know I don't look like a little green haired troll doll when I actually attempt to look nice"
"Hey!, you never look like a little green haired troll doll"
"Then what do I normally look like?"
"You always look like a little green haired elfin princess"
"That's actually quite original Tessa"
"I try"

So we drove to where we were eating, (as you do when you're on a date), and I was weirdly full of nervous, (I say weirdly because at the time my confidence was mostly unwavering, wether or not I had the right to be that confident is an entirely different discussion that we don't have time for right now).

"So Lacey, not that I mind as I think it's quite fabulous, but why do you dye your hair weird and wacky colors?"
"(Snorts), uh, it started as a way for people to tell me and my sister apart, not because we actually looked alike, but at the time we were both blonde and they were too lazy to tell us apart, I nearly gave my Dad a heart attack though"

Yeah, there was a point that

"(Snorts), I bet, were you grounded?"
"God no!, he was a bit of a soft touch when it came to grounding"
"So did you just do anything and everything that most parents hate?"
"No, I would still feel bad for doing something that worried him or something like that"

I realised that was the first time that I talked about Dad that wasn't 'I miss him', which nearly hit me like a ton of bricks, (the only reason why I didn't start sobbing was because I was on a date).

"He sounded like a great Dad"
"He was the best Dad"

So after that, we went into the restaurant and enjoyed dinner, (which was good as I didn't want to focus on the fact that Dad wasn't here anymore, ya know), and it was a good date at the time, (as an adult it was still a good date, it's just that I've had better dates since then).

Tessa pulled up at my Mom's house, the night was starting to brighten, (we were out till late, so fucking sue me), and I was still feeling like I was on cloud nine.

"Thank you for taking me out tonight Tessa, I really enjoyed tonight"
"I enjoyed tonight too, do you want to go on another date?"
"I would love that"

So we marked a date for another date, (what a tongue twister though), and I went into Mom's house to try and sneak in without Mom noticing that I was coming in at the early hours of the morning, (but I didn't have to worry that though, as she was asleep and didn't comment on it when she woke up that morning).
