07: Fake Girlfriend

Blair moved about telling Mike that she won't yell and then he slowly put away his hand. He quietly stood up from the body of Blair and then did Blair realise how heavy he was.

'What are you doing here?' She asked him in a hushed tone. He turned around and looked at her then sat down on the bed.

'To rescue you.' He replied in the same tone.

'How did you find me?'

'I kinda guessed.' He said. Blair noticed how different he looked now. The shabby clothes were turned down to neat ones. 'This doesn't matter. I'm here to tell you that tomorrow, at the dance, you'll go to the—'

He paused when Blair heard some footsteps coming towards her room. Blair glared at him fearsomely, afraid he'll get caught. But he shook his head, stood up from the bed and continued. 'the bar and then you'll—' he couldn't finish as the door opened suddenly.

Blair gasped as she looked at Ace who was standing at the door glaring at something behind Blair and she knew now that she's caught. Ace arched his eyebrow at Blair who's face was pale out of fear. 'Why are you so terrified?' He asked her.

Confusion moulded in a frown on her forehead so she turned around and saw that Mike was already gone. Probably before Blair could even know. She braced herself. 'I ... er ... nothing. What are you doing here?'

'Kelly told me you were looking for me.' Ace answered. His hand was still at the door knob, his eyes tracing the room and his face expressions neutral.

'Kelly?'

'That redhead.' That was when Blair realised she asked a girl about Ace when she suspected movements in her room.

'Oh, yeah. It's nothing.' She tried to fake a smile. 'I... ' she trailed off. She Thought about a good lie. 'I want to sleep now. Can you please close the door?'

Ace gave her a strange smile, shrugged and closed the door. He smiled to himself again when he heard Blair sighed. Tucking his hands in his pockets, he walked towards his room. Sometimes he hated his big house. It took so long to walk from one corner to another.

Just as Ace reached his room, he rolled his eyes as he knew that Kelly was in his room. He opened the door, ignored Kelly who was lying on his bed with a book in her hand and walked towards his desk. 'I should ban you from my room.' Ace told her.

She scoffed. 'You can't.'

He sat on the chair that bounced back with his weight and clicked on keyboard. He widened the camera screen, shook his head in the man's stupidness and took a picture of the scene.

'What are you doing?' She asked him.

'Nothing that you'll understand.' He answered her.

'I'm getting bored.' She stood up from the bed and flaunted towards him. 'Why don't we do something?' She blinked her eyes.

'You're getting bored?' Ace asked her.

She pouted and looked at him with puppy eyes. 'Yes.'

'Really bored?' Ace asked.

'Yes.' She nodded like a child.

'There's a lake about thirty miles away. Go and drown yourself there.' Ace stood up from his chair. 'Oomph!' He bent down at receiving a hard punch from Kelly.

'Better now.' She whipped her hair. 'That's for being rude.' And she walked out of the room.

'Bitch.' He said behind her and straightened himself but it still hurt. Kelly did know how to throw a punch. He glanced at his phone and ambled towards another room miles apart.

He knocked, receiving the permission, entered. 'Hello brother.' He greeted.

Adrien, Who was working on his laptop, looked up. 'You better have a news.'

'Oh I have a great one,' he sat on the chair in front of Adrien's desk, placed his feet on the desk and laid back. 'We had a guest over and I couldn't get to ask him some tea.'

Adrien glared at Ace who swiped among the photos of his phone and handed Adrien with a picture. 'Now I was thinking if you'll ask him the tea and I'll arrange the biscuits or I should do it?'

Adrien looked up. 'I'll do it.'

'Perfect.' Ace placed his feet down as he stood up.

'Did you buy a gift for Eliah?' Adrien asked.

'I don't have time for that shit.' With this, Ace left the room.

Adrien worked and worked until his phone vibrated with a reminder to buy a gift for Eliah who was his fourteen year old sister. He wanted to throw the best party for her to compensate the absence of her twin brother, Luca.

He picked up his jacket from the back of his seat, shut down the laptop and texted someone. As he dashed out of his room, he passed by the front of Blair's room. He stared at the room for only a brief moment, but didn't do anything and climbed downstairs.

Kelly came from the front and hugged the life out of him. 'My hubby chubby,' she pouted, 'you made me miss you for so long.'

'I'm sorry sweetheart,' he caressed her cheeks, 'business.'

She leant in and placed a long kiss on his lips. 'I'm ok to wait.' She said as she pulled back. Adrien smiled at her lips. 'You're going somewhere?'

'I have to pick up Eliah's gift. We'll talk once I come back.'

'Okay, go on.' She kissed him on the cheek that made Adrien felt thousand times better. His car was already in the driveway, with his driver on the seat. He settled in and directed the driver to the location.

Miss Christie's Love was the biggest gift shop of Turffe Fields , a small town of London. Adrien shook his hand with Miss Christie who preferred hugging him and did so. She was an old lady spreading love with the crafts she mastered in her youth and certainly was the creator of Eliah's gift.

'Is it ready miss?' He asked politely.

'Oh yes yes my dear, it is my dear. I just placed it here somewhere ... ' she put on the glasses on her nose and looked behind her counter. 'There you go son. Your sister will love it.' Adrien smiled at her as he took a box wrapped in beautiful crafting from her.

'I'm sure she will. And might you remember, Charlie ordered one more thing.'

She pondered over. Went behind her counter, thought and then took out a large gift wrapped in another wrapping paper which was taken by Adrien's driver. Adrien paid her and exited.

As he walked towards his car with one hand in his pocket, he halted in his steps and glanced at a black Audi that was parked outside The Hunger Restaurant. His phone vibrated with a notification from his work and just as he was about to walk another step in the car, he was greeted with a familiar face directing towards him.

'Mike, what a surprise.' He shook his hand with him.

'Same here Mackenzie.' He smiled. 'I was here to apologise for my intruding in your house.'

'May I ask what was the need for such dare?'

'I was there to meet Blair. It's not fair trapping her in your house Mackenzie.'

'And why is that?' Adrien asked.

'She has nothing to do what you are going to do.' Mike stepped forward. 'Keep her out of this.'

'I don't see it as your problem.' Adrien gave him the clue to shut up but Mike wanted to talk.

'If Seth comes to know about her, she'll be good as dead. She is innocent, don't drag her in. She'll never forgive you.'

Adrien nodded. 'I'll take care of it.' And he began walking away but Mike placed his hand on Adrien's chest.

'You are playing with fire Mackenzie.' Adrien took his hand off him. 'It'll cost heavy.'

'I'm loaded Mike.' And he opened the door of his car and sat in but the car didn't move. 'Should we go sir?'

'Not now.' Adrien said.

Adrien saw Mike dashing in his car from the side view mirror. Just as Mike sat in his car, the black Audi erupted and soon was a ball of fire in front of The Hunger Restaurant.

'Let's go.' Adrien commanded. He gave Mike the tea. Now Ace will take care of the biscuits.

***

The next morning when Blair woke up, there was a large box that was placed on her couch along with a shoe box and on her dresser, was a jewellery box. She ignored them and freshened herself.

When she got out, a tray full of breakfast was rested on her bed. There was a knock and then a beautiful girl stepped in. She was a teenager with black silly hair, just like Adrien, and had baby blue eyes, just like Ace.

'Hey,' she stood by the door shyly, 'can I come in?'

'Yeah... ' Blair was not so sure.

She came in and sat on the couch where the boxes laid. 'So ... how are you doing?'

'Er ... I'm kidnapped.'

'Right,' Eliah realised. 'So ... today's my birthday and my brothers are throwing a huge party.'

'Ok.' Blair was not interested. 'You are Adrien's sister?'

'And Ace's too.' She smiled and Blair returned it.

'Do you know why they brought me here?' Blair asked in a hushed tone.

She shrugged. 'They don't tell me much. Yeah but I heard them saying that they want you to do something for them and you'll be gone.'

'Me? What do they want from me?' Blair couldn't believe it.

'I don't know.' Eliah shrugged. 'Would you come to it?' Eliah asked.

'Come to what?'

'My birthday party.'

'No.' She said almost too suddenly.

Eliah beam faltered. 'Please?'

'I'm not really comfortable sorry.' Blair said apologetically.

'Ace said if you won't agree then do this.' She took out a gun from her jacket and fired right beside Blair's foot who shrieked and placed her feet up to the bed.

'What was that for?' Blair asked, perplexed.

'I'm sorry but you have to come. I'll see you later. Bye.' She flew off the room leaving the gun on the couch and Blair in a mist of confusion and fear.

The day went by with the slowest hours. Blair was not allowed to leave her room, thanks to Adrien, and her ego wouldn't let her too. So she'd pace around the room and there, in the corner of the cupboard, she saw some books stacked. So she spent her whole day reading those.

So lost in reading, she couldn't notice the knock at her door. On her permission, a maid entered. 'Miss, you need to get ready. I'm here to help you.'

Blair's stomach churned. She didn't want to go. She wondered what type of people would be there. How would they react when they'll see me? And most importantly, what did they want from her?

The maid kept on standing patiently after she prepared the bathtub for her bath. Blair was to tell her to go away but then she looked at the gun laying on the couch and bring herself the courage to tell her to go.

Blair felt weird when the maid took her clothes off but she didn't even pay enough attention. They Blair sat in the perfect warm water with a rosy smell. The maid shampooed her hair and then used the most beautiful scented soap Blair ever saw.

The maid brought her her pink robe and delicately made her wear it. She'd argue but then one glance at the gun, and she would go with the flow. She then took her out and sat on the stool. She laid down the gown on the bed and Blair gasped at how beautiful it was. The maid came back, and plugged in the hairdryer.

When her hair were dried, her face was prepped with soft makeup and her hair was curled in fine curls. Then she put on the pink coloured dress that hugged her tightly till her waist and then puffed out dramatically. The shoes were of white coloured that went with the sequins that were curled and swirled on the dress's corset.

Blair almost didn't recognise herself once she saw herself in the mirror. Just when the maid was tying the end,was buttons of her dress, Ace, without knocking, came in. He whistled at seeing Blair.

'Are we ready?'

'Just a minute sir.' The maid answered. When she was done, Blair thanked her and she left the room.

Ace slipped his hands in his pants pockets. He was wearing a black suit but this time, with a tie. 'You are going to be my fake girlfriend for the night.'

'What? No.' Blair furrowed.

'You have to.' Ace forced. 'Pretend good.'

'I'm not doing it.'

'It's just for the night. Can't you even do that?'

'No, no I can't. And why should I?'

'Because Adrien already has a girlfriend and I do not. You can't just walk in the party like a stranger.' Ace explained as he checked the windows that were now sealed.

'I'm still not doing it. You first forced me to go and now this? Nope. Not happening.'

'Listen, let's make a deal here. You pretend to be my girlfriend, and I won't torture you with the weapons anymore.' Ace moved forth.

'No.' Blair was still not buying it.

Ace gritted his teeth and immediately grabbed her by her arms taking his knife out from his pocket and pointed right at Blair's face. Blair held her breath. 'Don't make me do something I'll regret later. If I'm nice, you have to be nice too. Got it?'

Seeing the knife, Blair couldn't do much but nod yes. Ace relaxed and placed the knife down. 'Good girl.' Now let's go.' Ace practically dragged her out so furiously that Blair's arm hurt.

But just as they reached the staircase, Ace slowed down because they were visible to about three to four hundred people scattered in the lobby of their home. It was wholly transformed. The furniture was replaced by a stage where a table laid for maybe the cutting of the cake, the pillars were wrapped in silk and glittered flowers were arranged delicately around.

Blair's nerve reached up to her throat but she took a deep breath. Ace offered her his arm and she looped hers around. She wanted to run back to her room as she climbed the stairs down that felt as if she'll fall down. She clutched the life out of Ace's arm but he didn't bother. His pace for climbing down was much faster than Blair could manage so she kept on tripping but again, Ace didn't bother.

They reached downstairs and Ace was evolved in a conversation Blair didn't want to be a part of. She swept her eyes around the room and found the bar where Mike asked her to go. Blair wanted to go to that bar and then run back to her room but Ace wouldn't let her go.

He'd either place his hand on her waist, or start introducing her to people as a result Blair had to shake her head.

Finally when Blair was free to go, she tried to make her way to the bar but Kelly came forth and stood before her. 'Look at you. From trash to fab.' She complimented.

'I need to go.' Blair's way was again blocked.

'Not really. You are Ace's girlfriend, you need to act like one.' Kelly sipped her wine. 'Go back to him.'

Blair lifted her head up. 'You are not the one to tell me what to do.'

'Oh, look at the courage you gathered. I bet it must've taken all the power from your body to do it.' She jerked her head in her side.

'Hey ladies,' Ace came from behind and placed his hand on her waist.

'I need to go,' she struggled out of Ace's hand on her waist but all in vain.

'No,' he said sternly. 'Stay put. By the way, did you meet her?' He directed towards Kelly who rolled her eyes.

Blair didn't answer. 'Okay then, let me tell you, she's a bitch. Like the alpha of bitches. She runs a pack at night.'

'Har har har,' Kelly mimicked his tone. 'Your brother is in love with this bitch.' She pointed to herself. 'So be careful. He will kill you if something happens to me.'

'He just needs to look around and I'll kill you in your sleep.' Ace commented but Blair stopped listening further. Her eyes were on the bartender who was wiping the glasses.

Before she could move an inch, music wailed around the house and Ace was positioning her and him in a dancing position. 'I don't dance.' She said.

'Just do whatever you want. No one notices.' Blair had no idea what she was doing. Ace was moving her, twirling her around as he was so good in it. Everyone was dancing but Blair rather wanted to go back to her room.

She saw the bartender looking at her and then he lowered his eyes to a glass on the counter. Blair was rolled around in another man's arms and then they danced. She decided that when she'll be rolled to someone's else, she'll simply slip away to the bar.

Then the music changed and the man twirled her and she spun and landed on someone's arm. She took a step back to move towards the bar but the man pushed her forward. She looked up to see Adrien. 'Where are you going?' He whispered.

'To use bathroom.' She said almost too quickly.

'If you think Mike will come to your rescue, then I'll suggest you to stop expecting.'

'Why? What did you do to him?' For the first time, she lifted her head up and looked at his cold, steel grey eyes.

He smirked. 'Allowed him to rest in peace.'

'You killed him?' He smirked again and she slipped her hands off Adrien's as she stepped out of the dance floor. She felt disgusted even touching him. He killed a person and she couldn't even imagine Mike's face when he was stabbed, or shot or worse, burnt. She held back her puke as she ran to the bathroom of her room.

When all the contents of her stomach were out, she flushed the toilet and went to wash her hands. The bathroom door opened and Blair saw from the mirror a man entered.

'I'm sorry sir, it's women's bathroom.' Basically it was her bathroom. He didn't listen but began proceed towards her. 'Sir, anything's wrong?' Then Blair saw, a black, horrendous weapon, being held by the man's hand.

She shrieked but before she could run away, the man loaded the gun and shot on her leg. She fell down and just as she knew she'll die with the next bullet probably in her heart, two bullets were fired. Ignoring her pain in her leg, Blair lifted her eyes up to see Kelly, standing there with the gun in her hands.

'Run.' She told Blair but she couldn't.  Her leg was shot and Blair never felt this much pain in her life before. Blair couldn't even move. She was already passing out. 'I SAID RUN!' Kelly shook Blair but her eyes were shutting down.

Then Blair saw Kelly, falling back lifelessly with red blood snaking out on her red dress. She looked back and saw the man was dead with Ace's knife and Adrien was running to Kelly. Blair blinked longer as it became impossible to stay up.

The last thing Blair remembered was Adrien's eyes.

His cold, grey eyes looking at her like he would kill her in a blink. He clenched his jaw, picked up Ace's knife from his side and proceeded towards Blair dangerously but before she could die with Adrien's hands, her world went black.

oOo
