CHAPTER 23
Jade's POV
I shut my locker and hurried towards the exit with a huge grin spread over my face.
"Slow down, girl. Prince Charming isn't running away", Jamie chuckled as he tried to match my pace.
"I'm having trouble coping up with your speed", Fizzy spoke out of breath.
I abruptly halted as I reached the entrance of the campus.
From where I stood, I could see Dax and his Ashton Martin, looking like a model of a Vogue shoot.
Wait, am I obsessed with Vogue?
"There's Prince Charming", Jamie said as he halted next to me.
"Off you go, Princess", Fizzy cooed and I rolled my eyes.
"Bye guys", I said as I briefly turned around to look at them and then back at Dax who had spotted me by now and had a huge grin over his handsome face.
"Bye", they chimed together and I kept moving forward.
"Hey muffin", he slid his arms around me and pulled in for a deep kiss.
I was surprised at first, but then wrapped my hands around his neck and deepened the kiss.
After a while we pulled away and I looked at him.
He had a smirk plastered on his face.
"What was that about?", I asked and his eyes moved to something behind me.
I glanced over my shoulder and saw a group of guys awkwardly staring at us.
"Well, let's just say that the world needed to know that you're mine and that's just what I did", he spoke in a deep voice and pulled me in for another kiss.
I pulled away when I was out of breath and had the biggest grin spread over my face.
"Is your name Daxton Possessive Langford?", I asked as I sat in the passenger seat of his Ashton Martin.
"Nope, but I'm starting to think it should have been", he winked as he buckled in his seatbelt after making sure I had mine on.
He laced our hands together as soon as we pulled away from my college.
"How was college today?", he asked as he glanced at me, kissing the back of my palm.
"College is as boring. All I did was study because there are barely four days until my exams", I groaned and he chuckled.
"How was your day at work?", I asked as we halted at a red signal.
He turned to look at me, my hand still laced with his.
"Work kept me really busy today, but I couldn't stop thinking about you in between my hours of work", he said as he caressed my cheek with his other hand.
He leant forward and I closed my eyes.
And suddenly a loud sound erupted making me jump slightly.
The person in the car behind us had honked because the signal turned green.
"Come on, why do I always have bad timing?", Dax groaned in frustration making me laugh.
.
.
.
Walking inside the Langford residence felt different than how it felt the last time I was here.
Probably because I saw it as my future home.
"Welcome home, my dear", Mrs Langford walked towards me looking immaculate in an olive green dress, and pulled me into a tight hug.
Olivia in an olive coloured dress.
"Hi mum", I mumbled as I pulled away.
"Hi son", she glanced at Dax who stood behind me and turned around to look at the man who was sat on the couch.
"Justin", she called out to him and he stood up.
He walked towards me in a calm stride as if he had all the time in the world.
He was a tall man who looked like he was in his mid forties. He had grey hair which matched his thick beard.
"This is Justin Wallace, the organiser for your wedding", Mrs Langford said looking at Dax and I.
"Hi Justin, I'm Jade", I said as I extended my hand towards him.
"Miss Jade", he said as he took my hand in his and kissed the back of my palm, "I'm pleased to meet you".
I glanced at Dax who had a stoic expression over his face.
Here goes Possessive Dax again.
"Daxton, I'm pleased to meet you", Justin said, letting go of my hand and indulging in a firm handshake with Dax.
"Same here", Dax mumbled.
We followed Justin and Mrs Langford who sat on a sofa as Dax and I sat adjacent to them.
"So firstly, we're gonna have to select the venue for your wedding", Ellie said, taking out a diary and noting down something in it.
"I would suggest we have it on an open space rather than in a banquet hall", he said as he glanced at Dax and me and then at Mrs Langford who nodded subtly.
"That sounds good", Dax said and I agreed.
"Okay, I've got a list of few places that I think would be excellent to host your wedding", he said as he handed over a plastic covered folder to Dax.
Dax flipped the folder open as he scooted closer to me so that I too could look into it.
We flipped through the pages of various beautiful venues until one particular picture.
"This", I whispered, pointing at the picture of a beautiful natural space.
"Yeah, it's beautiful", Dax mumbled.
"This place", Dax and I said aloud together and smiled.
Dax retrieved the folder back to Justin who smiled looking at the venue.
"Well, I'm glad you chose this. It was in my top three list", he smiled at us and we returned it.
"Oh, the woman from the cake shop is here", Mrs Langford said suddenly and I turned around to see a woman walking into the residence with a service trolley.
Mrs Langford quickly rushed towards the woman and greeted her.
The woman rolled her trolley towards us.
"Okay children, this is Nadia and she will responsible for your wedding cake!", Mrs Langford exclaimed as the woman smiled at us and greeted us.
The next few minutes were spent as Dax and I tasted samples for our wedding cake as Justin, Nadia and Mrs Langford lightly discussed about other foods.
"I really like the strawberry shortcake", Dax spoke with a mouthful of cake.
"And I really like the blueberry cheese cake", I said after stuffing down a mouthful of the next delicious cake sample.
"I might have to visit the dentist sooner than I thought", Dax grumbled, making me chuckle.
"Children, have you'll decided which one as yet?", Mrs Langford asked, looking expectantly at us.
"I like the blueberry cheesecake", I said.
"Me too", Dax mumbled.
I glanced to look at him and he smiled.
"Blueberry cheese cake it is", Nadia clapped her hands together in delight.
"Do you really like it?", she asked Dax as she batted her eyelashes.
"Uh, like what?", he asked, bewildered.
"The cake, of course", I rolled my eyes and he smirked.
"Of course, I did princess", he said and I pecked his lips.
I looked at Nadia who averted her eyes.
Dax just sat there and smirked at me.
We also flicked through the pages of designs for the cake and somehow Dax and I managed to like the same design.
"I would like to discuss the theme of your wedding", Justin spoke as if reminding us of his presence.
"Yes, of course", Mrs Langford said to him and then turned to Nadia, "Thanks for bringing us the samples".
"The pleasure is all mine", she said as she rolled the trolley and walked out of the residence.
"Do you have a particular theme in mind? Or perhaps a color?", Justin spoke.
"I don't have a theme, but I do have a particular color", Dax said.
"Do tell me about it", Justin nodded, his pen ready to make notes.
"I would love to have a green theme that goes along well with something sparkly, maybe something that sparkles like the diamonds", Dax said, deep in thought as Justin furiously made notes.
"Alright, I'll work on it and will design a plan by tomorrow", he said, looking up from his diary.
Mrs Langford looked pleased as she looked at us.
"Thanks Justin, I'll see you tomorrow morning with the design plan for the venue", Mrs Langford said as he stood up.
"Thank you, Mrs Langford", he curtly bowed before passing us a smile and walking out the main door.
"Dinner's ready and the table is set. I'll go call your dad and Alex", Mrs Langford said to us before ascending the flight of stairs.
"So, what made you choose a green theme for our wedding? Obsessed with hulk?", I joked as Dax led me towards the dining area.
"And you chose blueberry cheesecake because you're obsessed with Frozen?", he retorted and I rolled my eyes.
"Well, I chose green because it's the colour of your name. Jade green", he said as he suddenly wrapped his arms around me.
My eyes widened in realisation.
"And I know you chose the blueberry cheesecake because you call me blueberry", he said before kissing me.
