CHAPTER 22
Jade's POV
The next morning was followed by my usual routine as I woke up, got dressed, drove out in my car to Fizzy's place and then college.
As we pulled up in the parking area, a group of students passing by smiled at me.
I returned the gesture as I walked ahead with Fizzy following close behind me.
We kept walking towards the entrance of our college and a few of the students around me congratulated me on my engagement.
Few mocked me because I was engaged, but I just showed them the tallest finger and shut them out.
We entered our first class and saw Jamie sitting in our usual spot in class.
"Hello James Angst", I said as I sat down on my chair next to his.
"Hello soon to be Jade Langford", he mocked my tone.
"Incase you cant see me, I'm right here", Fizzy grumbled as she sat to my left.
Jamie chuckled, "Hello, Miss Felecite Kraus".
"What's up with you calling us by our full names?", she asked him giving a pointed look.
"Just for fun", he rolled his eyes.
Any further conversation was interrupted as our professor walked in.

.
After another boring day at college, I walked home and found the Langfords happily chatting with my parents in our living room.
All of them, including my parents looked like upper class elite people and I looked like a street juggler in my jeans and tee.
Mrs Langford was the first to notice me.
"Well, here's my Jade", she said as she walked towards me and pulled me in for a hug.
"We were just talking about an appropriate date for your wedding", she said as I sat down on the couch between her and Dax.
He pecked my cheek and I attempted to hide my flushed cheeks.
"I would suggest that we have our wedding a week after Jade's finals", Dax spoke.
"Alright son, the sooner the better. Because remember, the deal won't be carried forward until you two are married", Mr Langford said.
"My finals start next week. We can have our wedding the following weekend", I suggested and everyone around us nodded.
"It's decided. Two weeks from now, my Daxton and Jade will be married", Mrs Langford clapped her hands in excitement and we all smiled.
Alex smiled weirdly, but at least he wasn't acting weird.
"So, let's go to select your wedding dress tomorrow, shall we?", Mrs Langford asked all of a sudden.
"Can we save that for later, mum? I want to get done with my exams and really focus on our wedding plans", I voiced my thoughts.
She looked disappointed with my words.
"We can begin with selecting the venues and themes and food stuff tomorrow, but I'm going to have to save my dress for later", I added, so that she wouldn't misunderstand my words.
"Alright dear, I get that. I mustn't pressurise you with so much when you have to worry about your exams", she nodded.
"Will Miss Rollins be organising our wedding too?", I asked and she shook her head.
"No?", Dax asked.
"Nope, I've asked my friend from France to fly over and organise your wedding", she said looking at Dax and I.
"He organises huge galas and fashion events with elegance and perfection and that is the precise reason I've asked him to organise your wedding", she continued.
"Wow, Olivia. And must I know who this friend of yours is?", Mr Langford asked.
"Justin Wallace", She answered.
"I want my children's wedding to be the most perfect wedding. And Justin is a perfectionist when it comes to organising events. He'll land here tonight", she said looking at all of us.
"So, we begin planning for your wedding from tomorrow, kids", she said looking at Dax and I.
"Olivia is one excited mother", my dad said, making us laugh.
"That I am, Mr Okoye. Also, Jade my dear, I managed to get an album of pictures that were clicked yesterday", she said as she pulled out a thick album from a royally decorated box.
Dax and my name was engraved over its cover and a picture of the two of us occupied it.
Dax and I looked at all the pictures from yesterday.
Most of them were pictures of him and I. A few were with our immediate family and very close friends. And then the pictures of the perfectly decorated banquet hall, the buffet table, the unlimited bar and some aesthetic added to the volume of the album.
I handed over the album to my parents and Mr Langford as they looked at the pictures.
"This one's my personal favourite", Dax whispered as he pulled out his phone to reveal a picture of me him and I kissing.
"How'd you even get this?", I asked in complete disbelief.
"Well, while we were busy enjoying our little kiss, Pierre managed to snap a gorgeous picture of us", he flashed his infamous grin and all I could do was gaze at him.
"Don't look at me like that, muffin. I won't be able to resist kissing you", he chuckled and I turned away to look at Alex staring at us.
"What?", I asked him.
"My brother is such a hopeless romantic", he facepalmed making me laugh.
"Shut up, adopted one", Dax mocked him, gaining everyone's attention.
"Not again", Alex groaned, making us all laugh.
.
.
After the Langfords left, my parents and I sat in our back garden and sipped on some lemongrass tea as we lightly discussed about the invites for our wedding.
"We should invite the Hemsworths"
"And the Aherns"
"What about the Greens?"
"Don't forget the Nivens"
"Also, Mrs Rhine"
And the list went on.
Once a rough list was made, Karl informed us that dinner was ready.
We didn't even realise that it was time for dinner.
Dinner consisted of most of my favourites so it was really good.
As we neared the end of dinner, my dad asked, "Jade, are you really happy with the wedding?".
I looked at him in bewilderment.
"Yes, dad. What's the matter?", I asked.
"It's just that I feel guilty for doing this to you", he said as he set his cutlery on his nearly empty plate.
"Please dad, not again. This ain't because of you. Dax and I like each other", I said.
"I'm glad that you two do. But I put you in this situation. I'd feel a lot more worse if Dax and you wouldn't get along well and would plan to get married just because of me", he said shaking his head in disappointment.
"But we get along really well, so cheer up and don't sulk now", I said and he smiled weakly.
"Alright, I'm done. It's been a tiring day and I bet tomorrow's going to be the same. Good night mom and dad", I said as I kissed their cheeks before heading upstairs.
On entering my room, I got changed for the night and plonked myself on my bed.
I fetched my phone from my bedside table.
I had two new text messages.
One was from Dax and the other one was from a blocked number.
I clicked on Dax's and my screen lit up with all of our texts, especially his most recent one.
Dax: Hey Muffin, I'll come get you from college tomorrow and take you to lunch. We can then head to meet Justin Wallace. Stay safe x
Jade: Sure, blueberry. Can't wait x
I went back to the list of texts and clicked on the unopened text from the unknown number.
Unknown: Congratulations on your engagement. But the two of you won't be together for too long. I assure you.
I was surprised to read this text.
Was it a prank?
I assumed it to be somebody from college and ignored it before falling into a peaceful slumber.

Any guesses who that could be?
