Preface

This story is mostly based on prompt #49: “Master the rules of the game until you can play it better than they can.” Michael Scott, “The Sorceress.”

Forty nine candidates are elligible to play this game but only one out of each vice can become one of The Deadly Seven.

The original vices of the Seven Deadly Sins need to pass their position and power to their sussccessor, or let their cardinal sin consume them from the inside out. By refusing to pass their sin to someone else dies an agonizing death, either by getting killed by the other Vices, or gets destroyed by their own vice. That is why the current Vice must find seven candidates to distribute a fraction of their power in order to determine which of the seven candidates are worthy to take on the deadly sin; Pride, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, or Sloth.

The ideal candidate must be capable to withstand the vice and surpass their opponents in order to become the successor of the Deadly Sin. The Deadly Seven is not just a game, it's a trial to determine which of the players can withstand the malevolent aura of the sin that occupies their mortal bodies.

The increase of depravity, wickedness, imfirmity, witchcraft, corruption, perversion, deceit, manipulation and all the vile personalities are still relevant today though it hasn't reached to an apocalyptic point within the story as of yet. The setting of the story is a mixture of urban fantasy, dark fantasy laced with a smidge of dystopian undertones, and an indirect insinuation of a mafia blends well with prompt #62: “Hell is empty and all the devils are here.” —William Shakespeare

The fact that we live in a fallen world plagued with sin is no secret: The whole world is under the control of the evil one.

Demons have dominion over the world, governed by one malevolent entity who has sent humankind into turmoil. As the world turns, the principalities of darkness have a foothold over humanity to ensnare them into the grave and remain hellbent and sending every single one into eternal oblivion.

Why partake in The Deadly Seven?

The response may vary from each individual; wealth, power, status, fame, prestige, better life, etc. The real reason for this game is merely to entertain any weak-willed viewer who wants to watch the world burn, and knowing that they all live on borrowed time. The ultimate goal is to get every single inhabitant to perish in their sin by any means necessary.
