She wails, she screams 
An endless cacophony 
Vengeance in her heart 
To set the world on fire. 

Broken bones, bruised knuckles, 
The tears have long since dried 
Glassy eyes which have lost all lustre 
Joy has fled from her life's garden. 

Tears of blood, pallid skin
Hands twined with thorns that rip
She wants to tear things apart
To taste blood and chew on bones. 

A wounded heart, love forfeit, 
There is nothing but an icy grave
Dreams have died, the lights long lost
May they rest in peace.

Beneath the hurt, the burning rage
Is but a lass longing for care
Long denied a warm embrace 
And hearth where she is safe. 

Let her weep, let her thrash
But hold her still in your arms
Let not her wipe those tears
Till she falls asleep covered in a quilt. 

Childhood lost, betrayal galore
Grief has been her only companion 
Without the sorrow and the anger

What is she, but just a girl?
