Finally one full summer that I get to spend with Maggie.

Her birthday is coming up. Since she is kinda that party person she would wanna have a party but at that same time she wouldn't.

One morning she climbed up to my room window to wake me up. I heard knocking.
"Yo Gerald"
"Mags! What the fuck are you doing here?" I woke up angrily but happy that she woke me up from bed.

What I can never stay mad at the girl that I love.

"Aw I woke up a baby from its sleep" she giggled
"I'm not mad Mags. It's to early. And it's the beginning of summer"
"I know but I wanted to hangout with my wimps"
"You know we have three months of summer right"
"Yeah I know but my parents want me to spend a least a month or two at LA." I began to worry was she actually moving or visiting.
"So your just visiting relatives or moving again?"
"No why would I wanna move again. I want to stay here where my home is"

Oh god she's not leaving.

"Oh I just" she cuts me off
"Just what got sad if I was moving away."
"Eh yeah cause I didn't want my badass friend to leave. And also I'm still surprised how you beat the shit out of Belinda."
"Yeah I know. Never knew I fought like that"
"Well can you please leave my room I need to get into some clothes"
"Why cause boys sleep naked or just with boxers"
"Yeah basically that"
"Okay I'll just leave"
"I didn't mean that to leave leave from my house"
"I know that's why I'm go to your front door and knock so I can wait for you"
"You know my ma doesn't get mad if you come in my room"
"Whatever just get some clothes on" she walks out of my room. I hear my brother yell. "What fuck are you doing here Maggie!"
"Morning James" God that girl is savage. Sure hope I could be her boyfriend some day. I got some clothes on. I walk out of my room, James has to start with his morning bullshit
"Gerald"
"What James?"
"Okay. Why is Maggie doing here and how did she came in to our house?!?!?!"
"Chill James. She came through my window"
"Oh okay. Oh shit my boy got some grinds"
"Shut the fuck up! Me and Mags are just friends"
"Oh just friends but didn't you say that you like her when you were a kid"
"Well yeah but I guess she doesn't feel the same way"
"My boy is fucked up with feelings"
"Shut up James" I walk down to the living room. James tag along.
"Good morning Gillums and James sorry that I'd scare the shit out of you it was priceless less" I began to laugh.
"Ow! The fuck James"
"Oops sorry." He whispers to my ear "go help your girlfriend out"
"Stop it James" Maggie looked at us confused.
"So what should we do today"
"Well i dunno. Hey Mags are you doing something for your birthday"
"Nah why Gerald"
"Cause I thought you wanted to celebrate"
"I will celebrate with my boys"
"Okay" my ma wakes up. "Morning kids"
"Morning ma" me and my brother say
"Morning ms Olmsted"
"Maggie you know you can call me ma or Suzanne"

Yeah my ma is a sweet lady.

"Okay ma"
"So what you guys up today"
"We don't yet. Waiting for Marty and see what we should do" I implied
"Sounds fair enough. What should I cook for breakfast"
"Maybe you famous blueberry pancakes" my brother suggested
"Okay it will be ready in an hour"
"Ma do I help you" Maggie asked
"No sweetheart you just stay with the boys outside"
"Okay ma" we went outside waiting for Marty. Twenty minutes later he showed up. After breakfast we'd went to the park and messed around.

July 23
Today was Maggie's birthday. I woke up super early that day. I got dressed out of the ordinary. Finally she was eighteen. Yeah she had some responsibility but still that fun, troublemaker person. I went to her house. Nobody was there. If Mags told me she wasn't going anywhere.

I wait there for ten minutes. My ma texted me:
Ma: Gerald. Maggie is waiting for you. She's at our place
Me: Okay ma. Be right there.

Oh god I thought she left without telling me anything. I got home. She was there sitting in the table with Marty, James and my ma waiting for me.
"Hey Mags. Happy Birthday" I hug her.
"Thanks Gerald" my ma made her a cake for her birthday. Vanilla cake with strawberry cream her favorite.

My ma gave her a Coofit Leather Oxford black backpack for senior year. Marty gave her $150 bucks of Forever 21. James gave her $150 bucks of Vans because she was dying to get the Checkerboard Sk8 high tops. And I gave her an iPhone 7s Plus for her birthday. At first she didn't want it because it was so expensive and it would rather belong to me (I already had a phone and I was working). But later she'd accepted. I think it was the best birthday that Maggie had ever since she came back.

August 29
The summer was ending soon and back at it again with school drama and work.

During the summer I felt something different between me and Maggie. Was I falling in love for her. Yes I do love her but I don't think she feels the same.

Later that night I received a message from Mags
Mags: Hey Gerald. Look outside from your window

What? I see Mags waving at me.

Me: Huh?
Mags: Come out please
Me: okay

Why does Mags want me outside for?

I open the window to get out of my room. "What's up Mags"
"Nothing just wanted to hangout" I know her she wanted to talk about something that was bugging her
"Okay maybe we should go talk in my room"
"What bout outside"
"Yeah maybe up on my roof" we climbed up to the roof.
"So what's up"
"Nothing up. Why do you think something up Gerald"
"Mags, you've came to me before"
"Okay okay. It's just I'm afraid that this stupid rating system again"
"No Mags it won't happen again because you have me"
woah I think I used that before

"Really?"
"Yes Mags since day one when we were kids"
"Yeah since we met in preschool"
"We were bastards when we were kids"
"Can I ask you something"
"Yeah anything"
"When I left from the Bay Area, you'd told me that you like me a lot then kissed me. Im still wondering in this day, you still have those feelings for me?"

Yeah I do have those feelings for you Maggie. Shit do I tell her or keep it to myself.

"Honestly yes I still do Mags. Since you left I wasn't myself but when you came back I'd didn't have the balls to say the truth and I didn't know if you'll feel the same way"

"Gerald, since I came back you've so so nice. I'd felt protected from everyone, yeah since I moved I lost my half, my best friend that kept me happy. I feel the same way as you. And I yeah your right we didn't know how will react between this" we laughed.

"So what's going happen next"
"I don't know" she giggled.

Shit should I kiss her? I lean towards her. She got closer to me. Then we'd kissed.

"I'm sorry Gerald"
"No it's my fault Mags"
"So I guess we're a thing"
"Yeah. But Mags just remember I will protect you"
"Thanks Gerald" she got up.
"Do you want me to walk you home?"
"If you want" we got down from the roof. I walked her home.
"Thanks for walking me home Gerald"
"No problem Mags" I kissed her forehead
"I'll text you later"
"Okay goodnight"
"Goodnight Mags"
