It has been two years since she died, but I still think that I will see her again....somehow. I stood on the white wrap-around porch at the front of the house and looked at the house. I smiled, a sad half-hearted smile. I waved to the house and turned my back and headed for the car. "Hey Angel honey, will you get me the directions?" My dad looked at me as I sat in the passenger seat. I looked at his eyes, seeing the reflection of myself in them. "I guess." I handed  him the directions. My dad is 32 years-old and looks nothing like me. I have a head of straight, dark brown hair, and blue eyes while he has short, curly bright blonde hair, and brown eyes.

We started the five hour journey to White River the first hour in silence. I reached up and turned the radio on to 96.5 hit music station. My dad smiled as I sang along to "Paradise" by Coldplay, hitting every note perfectly. I was always a musical person, ever since my mother taught me how to play the piano. I remembered how everyday after school I would run into the house and sit down at the piano and play for my mother.

I was pulled out of the memory when my dad asked: "Hey Ange, do you want to get something to eat?" I blinked a few times and looked at him. "Sure how about Mc D's?" He smiled and nodded. We pulled through the drive-through of a Mc Donalds moments later, I ordered a dollar cheeseburger and a thing of medium fries. My dad ordered a salad of some sort. We ate as we drove on and listened to the radio in silence. I looked at the clock on the dash, and it read: 2:08 p.m. I groaned, three more hours to go, I thought. "What's wrong?" My dad looked over at me. I frowned. "I'm just tired." He shrugged. "Then rest a bit."  I shrugged and then leaned my seat back. I soon drifted off to sleep.

"Angel, Angel dear, what are you doing?" A silky voice said. I giggled looking down at the lady. "I'm up here Mommy!" I waved to her from up in a tree. "Ange, come down you're only eight, and I don't want you to hurt yourself!" Concern flashed across my mother's face. "I want to tell you a story about White river." That got my attention right away. "okay!" I excitedly climbed back down the tree. My mom opened her arms, and I ran into them. As soon as I got there my mother disappeared. I was no longer eight, but now my age in real life.

I reappeared standing next to a hospital bed. I knew where I was, and I wanted to wake up before I had to see my mother die again. I knew that this was a dream, but it felt so real. I wanted to get out of this nightmare as soon as I came into it. Before I cold my mother grabbed my arm, but it didn't look like her...this version of my mother looked drained of all life. The dream me squeezed my eyes shut and then everything went black.
