Chapter Five - Collision Course

After the Major's declaration of war, Emperor Belos quickly realized that both the Major and Millennium posed a serious threat to his plans for the Boiling Isles. Knowing that the Major was after the Corpse of Mina Harker, Emperor Belos gathers the Coven Leaders for a special meeting.

Belos: Thank you all for coming. You're all probably wondering why I have summoned you all here. Before we begin, I would like to congratulate each and every one of you. The Day of Unity is almost upon us and it is all thanks to you. But now we face a grave danger.

Darius: You mean the Owl Lady?

Belos: The Owl Lady is...inconsequential. But the one I speak of is a band of monsters.

Terra: Monsters?

Belos: A band of monsters that I have hunted for eons. These monsters possess a dark magic that threatens to undo all the progress that we have made.

Vernworth: So you want us to hunt down these monsters?

Belos: That won't be necessary. These monsters will come to us. It is only a matter of time until they arrive. The powers these monsters wield rivals my own. I need your help to destroy these monsters once and for all.

As Belos said this, he knew full well of what the Major was capable of. He was aware of the powers that the Major's lieutenants wielded. At the same time, Belos knew that the Major's mole was still out there. They could be watching this very meeting as they speak.

Raine: What should we expect from these monsters?

Belos: You will be facing monsters with....unnatural powers. Most of them have Vampiric powers and wield weapons of fire and steel. Others have the power to transform into a monstrous wolf. Others have the ability to control magic projectiles. Some even have the form to warp your very sense of reality. But one thing unites all of these monsters: the desire to inflict pain and suffering on all who cross their path. I have battled these monsters many times. They revel in death and destruction. When you meet them on the field of battle, they will show no mercy. In fact, they will take great pleasure in killing you as slowly as possible. These....Millennium monsters are not to be trifled with. Show no mercy for none shall be shown.

Belos proceeds to inform them about the Vampiric abilities of the Millennium Soldiers as well as the powers of his lieutenants. As Belos informs the Coven Leaders of what they are dealing with, Belos speaks to them.

Belos: We are on the verge of greatness. The Day of Unity shall usher in a golden age for the Boiling Isles. Now this Wild Witch threatens all that we stand for. I have hunted these monsters, but they have eluded justice. Now they have returned to destroy all the progress that we have worked so hard to achieve. Now the time has come for you to answer the call. It is the Titan's will that you help me wipe out these monsters.

With that, the Coven Leaders joined Emperor Belos in preparing for Millennium's arrival. Raine knew that Belos knew more of Millennium than he was letting on. Despite these concerns, Raine went along with Belos's plans. As both the Coven Leaders and the entirety of the Emperor's Coven prepared for Millennium's arrival, Kikimora spoke to Belos.

Kikimora: My lord, this seems....excessive.

Belos: I made the mistake of underestimating Millennium. This time, I will take no chances.

It was at this moment that the Golden Guard arrived.

Belos: You have returned. Good. Now we may begin....

With that, Belos prepared both his castle and the Boiling Isles for the Major's arrival. Meanwhile in the Dead of Night, Millennium was arriving at Bonesborough. In the Deus Ex Machina, the Major was remembering the day he was approached by Belos who was still going by Philip Wittebane. It was in the days following the German surrender of WW2 and when Millennium went into hiding.

Major(Past): So you wish to enlist our help in your plans?

Wittebane: Yes. With your power, we could accomplish great things together. We could purify both worlds of impurities.

Major(Past): I must admit that you have sparked a great interest within me. I see in your efforts, untapped potential. Perhaps they could be of great use to me when I am ready to return to our beloved war.....

Wittebane: You will not regret this alliance, Herr Major. Humans like us....are destined for greatness. We are men of vision.

Major(Past): I am a simple purveyor of war. While you seek to build something grand, I seek only to destroy. I want to see this world burn and leave nothing to rise. But perhaps that is why we could be extraordinary allies! For what is destruction without creation and what is creation without destruction!

The Major then remembers all the resources he gave Wittebane in pursuit of his goals. With the supplies that the Major had given him, Belos was able to bring about the end of the Savages Ages. But now Belos had returned that favor by stealing the Corpse of Mina Harker from him. The Major couldn't help but chuckle at this. However, the Major was giddy about the war he was about to wage. He had been starved of a good war since the end of World War 2. This war would be a good warm up for the true war he intended to rage. The stage was set as all out war would break out between Millennium and Emperor Belos.
