The Day I Met You (A SHINee fanfic): Chapter 8 - Hello Again.
Chapter 7 – Hello Again.
Tang placed her hand in front of the door, preparing herself to knock. She hesitated at first, drawing her hand back. She stared at the door then at her wrist, forgetting that she didn’t wear her watch. She slapped herself on the head, while murmuring the words, “Stupid, stupid, stupid.”
Was she too early? She took a quick glance at the busy streets. The roads were full of cars with their windows down; it was a blistering hot summer’s day. She often saw people in shorts; it was too hot to wear anything else but shorts.
She was dressed in denim shorts and an old t-shirt (in case she got paint on her clothes). Her hair was down, simply because she was too lazy to do it in the morning. Her art supplies were in her shoulder bag and her canvas was on the ground next to her.
“Oh, it’s you again.” A voice made her jump.
Startled, she turned around to see Taemin leaning against his car with a smile on his face. He looked better than before, if that was even possible. His smile was infectious and Tang couldn't help but smile along with him.
"Are you going to stand there smiling at me or are you actually going to answer my question?" He hadn't actually asked her a question but he seemed to enjoy her reactions.
She unconsciously put her hand to her face to see if she was still smiling. She was; a huge grin was spread across her face. She was so focused on telling herself not to creepily grin at him that she didn't see him step closer towards her. She gasped a little as she realised how close his face was to hers. Her heart rate picked up at an immense speed as he leaned in and…
Tapped her on the forehead. She blinked at him slowly while scolding herself. Did I really think he was going to kiss me? She thought to herself. Realizing that he was still staring at her, she composed herself by standing straighter than before. She plastered a smile on her face
“You knocked?” She said with a smile on her face.
He laughed; it was music to her ears. Once again, she found herself smiling at him. She couldn’t help it, it was infectious. The way his eyes lit up when he laughed was so much better in real life instead of watching him on Youtube. He looked like the cutest boy she had ever seen in her life. Heck, he was the cutest boy she had ever seen in her life.
"I asked you what you were doing here."
Furrowing her eyebrows, she was sure that he never asked her a question. She brushed it off instead of making a fuss. What was the point anyway? She’ll just make a fool of herself.
"Onew asked me to paint a portrait of you guys." She quickly corrected herself, "I mean, of SHINee."
"But he said that he was getting someone..." He faded, his eyes looked to the sky.
She smiled, "Yeah, that's me. He came to my stall, saying that he had heard of this artiste and was looking for her and here I am."
A look of realization had passed onto his face and he sighed in relief. "Oh! Phew, I thought you were stalking me."
Tang laughed nervously, unconsciously rubbing her wrist. She thought back to the day she had first met him as a result of finding out his address. She did what any obsessive fan would do if they found out their celebrity's address. She stalked him. She repeated the phrase in her head, I stalked him. She was here because she had stalked him - technically that wasn't true, argued the little voice in her head.
He had started enter his keys into the keyhole when he realized something important. He stopped and turned to look at her. His eyes studied every detail on her face, making her feel extremely self-conscious. After a few moments he turned back and started to unlock the front door.
"Hey, you never told me your name." He mumbled as he struggled with the keys, "Oh, wrong key."
"I'm sure I did...Do you need help with that?" She looked at him fumbling the keys.
He shook his head vigorously, "No, no, just put the wrong key in that's all. You didn't, I would've remembered."
She couldn't describe the feeling that erupted in her stomach. All she felt was a warm, fluttery feeling that had started to grow when he had appeared at first and now, had erupted into a whirlwind. Blood rushed to her face and she was glad that he wasn't looking at her. He had no idea what effect he had on her.
She struggled to form sentences as the adrenaline was still pumping in her brain, "Er-Er, Tang. My name is Tang. It's just a nickname, but I prefer it to my real name."
He opened the door and threw his arms in the air dramatically, "Finally! What's your real name?"
She just tapped the side of her nose and entered his house, for the second time. She prayed silently that she didn't do anything too embarrassing...
