The Day I Met You (A SHINee fanfic) Chapter 2 - Stuck.
This really wasn't meant as a proper book and stuff because I'm starting from chapter 2..for my friend.
This is dedicated to Tang for being a total fan of SHINee and getting me involved in Kpop.
Chapter 2 – The Day I Met You
Tang was grinning from to ear to ear as Taemin led her inside the house, her heart was beating rapidly as he shut the door behind her. Taemin took off his shoes and she did also, he led her into a huge living room. The walls were white filled with pictures of music. There was a huge piano in the corner of the room, it was white and elegant. The room looked perfect but lived in; there were DVDs and books on the shelves. Comfy looking cushions had been thrown onto the sofa, but it still looked like it had been placed there by somebody else. It was perfect, despite the owner of the house. She felt like she belonged here, like it was made for her.
Taemin watched her facial expressions change from awe to happy. He felt his heartbeat skip a little as she smiled in admiration of his house. He felt the need to impress her for some reason, he never felt this way before. Not around anybody he knew, anyway. He wanted her smile to stay on her face, and he wanted to be the reason why her smile never left her face.
On impulse, he took her hand and led her to the window, which had been covered with light blue curtains, and pulled back the curtains. Tang was still thinking about the fact that he was holding HER hand and had a dreamy expression on her face. When she realised that drool had started to escape her mouth, she wiped her mouth and turned towards the view.
It was beautiful. The sky was perfect, a shade of light blue with a few white fluffy clouds in sight. The beach was full of people, crowded with families and couples. The sandy beach had small and large sandcastles scattered all over it. Behind the beach, there were buildings and statues that had been there for hundreds of years, yet they looked as if they had been built yesterday. It was bustling with life, yet it was strangely peaceful.
“It's beautiful.” Tang said quietly, still fixated on the view.
Taemin looked at her, her black hair sweeping past her face. He reached out to brush it out of her hair, but he pulled it back as soon as he knew what he was doing. She’s just a fan, he reminded himself, not anything more. If the guys found out about this, he wasn’t exactly sure what their reactions would be but he knew they wouldn’t be overjoyed.
Tang didn't see any of this; her mind remembered that she was still holding his hand. Thank God, he hadn’t let go. This was probably a dream for her, and any minute, her alarm clock would sound, pushing her back to reality.
“I know it is, I bought this house because of it. I've always wanted someone to look at it how I see it. I'm glad I found that someone.” Taemin's comment made her smile, she had butterflies in her stomach and she was pretty sure that they were head butting each other, with all the fluttering happening in her stomach.
Seeing her smile made him dizzy, not with illness. But this feeling was so foreign to him, it almost made him high. It couldn't be...no of course it couldn't! He had only known her for a few minutes now. That type of stuff only happens in the movies. Not to mention she was a fan, he absolutely couldn't date a fan. It wasn’t exactly a rule, but dates with fans never end well. He shuddered, thinking of the horrible stories that he had been told.
Tang was still staring down at her hand, exaggerating the feelings she was feeling inside her head. Electricity shot up her arm as he squeezed her hand gently. Her mind wandered and she didn't even hear him ask her a question.
He waved a hand in front of her face.
“Hello? Anyone there?” He smiled at her.
His smile made her voice falter, “I-um-uh...”
“I only asked if you wanted a drink but you didn't respond so I couldn't think of anything else to do.” He grinned awkwardly.
She nodded frantically, her neck clicking in the process. Ow, she thought.
“Of course I do!” She answered with a bit too much enthusiasm.
She cringed silently and hoped that he didn't notice this. He did, but acted like he didn't anyway. He walked towards the kitchen and realised he was pulling extra weight. He looked back and smiled as he remembered that he was still holding her hand. He looked back at his hand and back at Tang. A confused expression was on his face.
“Um? Why aren't you letting go?” He asked.
Now the confusion was passed to her face, “Why aren't you letting go?”
They both stared at each other for a while before attempting to pull their hands away from each other. It wasn’t that they were desperate to get away from each other, but they both thought of the consequences of what would happen if someone walked in on them.
“What if we…did…this..” Taemin’s voice wavered as he held onto the door frame and Tang pulled as hard as she could.
“S’not…working...” She huffed, while holding her side with her other hand.
“Swap roles. You hold, and I’ll pull.” He spun her under his arm, and flashed a grin at her. She blinked rapidly, reminding herself that that just happened. She smiled back, because that was the only thing she could find herself doing in his presence.
Either smiling, laughing or drooling.
After twenty minutes of pure exhaustion, they both collapsed on the floor, in a fit of giggles. Once he had stopped laughing, he sat up. A huge grin flashed upon his face, “I think we're stuck.”
