The Day I Met You (A SHINee fanfic): Chapter 1 - Just her luck.
Chapter 1.
The dark clouds had begun to cover the once blue sky, covering it from view. Tang waved goodbye to her friends, with a happy smile on her face. By the time, she had stepped outside of her friend's house, small pools of water had started to form on the concrete. Before she knew it, millions of small rain droplets were hitting her hard. She looked up at the sky and cursed the rain. The small rain droplets seemed to have gotten bigger. Looking closer, she realized they had. Without warning, a huge raindrop fell into her eye as she was looking up towards the sky.
Just her luck.
She blinked a few times before she could clearly see again. Stupid rain, she thought angrily as she emptied her homework papers into her bag and used her folder as shield from the rain. She ran towards the bus stop, while the clouds seemed to retaliating to her earlier comment. She wasn’t careful about where she was running though. By the time she had got to the bus stop, her shoes were soaked and she could feel the water trickling down her skin. She cringed, groaning quietly and looked at her wristwatch.
Two minutes till the bus comes! She thought, relieved that she wasn’t late. She sat down on the wet bench and cursed inwardly when she realised that her butt was now wet. She stood up and looked at her butt, stretching her neck to see the damage. Great, she thought, looks like I've wet myself. The rain started to hit the floor even harder, bouncing off of the floor and onto her shoes. She pulled out her phone and plugged in her earphones. Pressing the shuffle button, she smiled at the choice of song. She hummed and nodded to the beat of the music, until she was in her own little musical world.
"Naega jom sodooljin mollado." She sang out loud, not having a care in the world.
She wasn't aware that two elderly ladies were staring at her and whispering to each other. Every so often, they would turn and shuffle away from her, clutching their bags away from her. She started to dance, swinging her arms wildly, nearly hitting one of the elderly women in the face.
When she had opened her eyes, she saw that she drawn quite a crowd to her little show. She swore that there wasn’t that many people when she came here. A shutter sound of the camera caught her attention. She turned towards the direction of the noise, only to see nothing except the stares on people's faces.
Before she could say anything to further embarrass herself, the bus came. She pushed everyone to the side, shoving the money in the bus driver's hand. She ran to the back seat, putting her bag in the seat next to her so that nobody would sit next to her. It worked, of course. Nobody bothered to sit next to her, but some people kept giving her quick glances with a weird smile on their faces.
She stared out of the window to avoid the gazes. She watched the two seperate raindrops run down the window before they latched onto each other and made into one. The trees were blurred as she travelled past, she almost wished that she could blur herself away.
The bus halted, knocking her into reality. The bus was completely empty, except from the odd one or two people preparing themselves to get off. She grabbed her bag and rushed to the front of the bus. Knocking on the glass window, the bus driver huffed and slid the window to the left.
"What do you want?" He said bluntly, his hand resting on the wheel.
She coughed when his breath reached her nostrils. Rude and smelly, what a combination, she thought to herself.
"I was just wondering if this was the last stop?" She asked as politely as she could.
"I did say it over the tannoy if you were listening. Now if you could please step outside, I'm on a tight schedule.
She took a step back at the harshness in his tone. Not knowing there was a huge gap between the bus platform and the pavement, she stumbled and fell. Luckily, her bag cushioned her fall. The bus driver closed the doors as soon as she had started to fall and drove off.
Well, that was rude.
She blew her hair out of her eyes and sighed. She dusted herself off before walking into the opposite direction. After passing through a few of the houses, she noticed that she recognized this neighbourhood. She passed it many times when some of her friends lived there, she just couldn't remember how to get out.
She carried on walking even though she had no idea where she was going. Realizing that she had been walking around in circles, she let out a cry of frustration. Maybe she should ask someone? The road was completely empty, except from the expensive looking parked cars. She looked at the house she was standing before.
She recognised it from somewhere, she just couldn't put her finger on it. That was Taemin's house! A month before, she was just searching the Internet out of complete boredom and she came across a news article that Taemin had bought a house near her neighbourhood. She would have tried to find it that same day but it was torrential rain that stopped her.
A brilliant idea, in her opinion, entered her head. What if I knock on the door and check if he's there. If he's not, I'll just ask for directions. She thought to herself as she walked towards the door. There was no way she could embarrass herself, it was fool-proof. At least in her mind it was.
It's not like he's actually going to be there, she thought as she knocked on the door. The rain was still pouring down pretty hard, making her shield her head away from the rain. It's probably going to be a normal person. After waiting for about five minutes, she started to walk away from the door. Of course he wouldn't be there.
"Hello?"
At that point, the rain had stopped and it seemed as if heaven had opened. She paused, not quite believing what she was hearing. Was that...? No of course not, it couldn't be. She carried on walking, ignoring the calls of Taemin. Until she tripped and headbutted his car.
She didn't even know how she did it, all she knew that she was walking and the next minute she was on the floor, clutching her head. As she tried to get up, she found herself in the arms of Taemin.
"Stay still."
She was too shocked to talk. She felt herself, being lifted from the ground and being carried to his front door. All she could was hang on for dear life to avoid him dropping her.
Just my luck, eh? She thought, wearing a smile that could last for an eternity.
