Mikaela helped her mum, Laura carry all her equipment inside in the hope that it will leave her in a good mood. Her brother had just finished his last day of high school for the year. Mikaela had already finished her year and had began the summer holidays. But as she looked outside she realised it was getting dark and decided to leave showing her Apollo till the next day...

"Now come!" Mikaela demanded, grabbing her mums hand and dragging her towards the barn. "Now mum I need you to refresh your mind and think clearly!" She made her close her eyes and went inside Apollo's stall. Mum had strait blonde hair and brown hazel eyes. Dads hair was dark brown with a tinge or red, which is how Mikaela got her thick strawberry blonde wavy hair. She slipped on Apollo's black rope halter and lead him out of his stall to stand in front of mum. "OPEN!" Shock flashed across her mums face and her eyes widened. "Oh my, Mikaela Indries what on earth?"
"Mum I found him in the mountains, his owners don't want him back and dad said if you say yes I can keep him, I'll look after him and he'll be my own horse!"
She thought hard. "Mikaela, I don't know this horse, for all we know he could be a dangerous animal."
"I know but.."
"And does your father know about this?"
Mikaela looked up in shock. "Of course he knows, he said if you agreed then Apollo could be mine!"
"You named this horse?"
"Yes but just, please mum." Mikaela was beginning to feel like this was useless, Laura threw her hands in the air. "Fine, fine, as long as your fathers happy. But he's YOUR responsibility, if he injures himself you'll be paying for the vet!"
Mikaela couldn't believe her luck. That afternoon She spent all day in the barn with Apollo. Somehow she felt drawn to him. She'd always loved Hugo but there had always been something missing.
