The suns heat bared down on the prairie as it rose in the rising dawn. The brilliant colors of orange, red, purple and pink, were shadowed by a stallion, as black as night.

"I bet you can't catch me!" A hummingbird with feathers the colors of the Amazon swung by, just a streak in the sky. "Hey! Wait up!" The stomping of feet was raised after, like an earthquake, striking unnoticed, as the black stallion rushed by, just seeming to be a shadow across the dim light of dawn. A shrill of terror suddenly rose up into the air, then another. The black stallion was huddled in a trap which made her leg twist in an awkward position, while the hummingbird lay dead, blood enveloped it. The stallion shadowed it as it tried to lay next to it, squinting as the trap tightened around her leg. An arrow was then shot, penetrating the horses back, and she lay limp.
