I wake gasping. MY throat feels swollen and it probably is. I must have a bruise on my neck where the cranks hands were when he chocked me.

I open my eyes and look around. Its day time now. I can see beams of light shining into ever hall of the maze.

Then I realize I'm still where we fought the cranks laying on my back by the wall staring at the sky. Before I could even move I hear talking. It sounds like that shuck-faced crank."What do we do with them when they wake?"asks the voice of another crank.

"You will find out when they wake."says the head crank.

I hear them geting closer and that's when I close my eyes agagin. I hear them stop by me."Unless there's one awake already. I'll leave you to it, I got work to do."says the head crank.

Once he's gone I feel a foot connect hard with my rib cage. So hard I cry out and double over clutching my middle. I hear a shout of joy come out of that stupid cranks mouth."Yay your awake. Once the others wake we can get started."says the crank.

I have no idea what he means and I'm pretty sure I don't want to find out. I open my eyes and look at the crank."Yeah I'm awake you slinthead, who would be after being kicked."I snap.

The cranks smile goes even wider and his foot reels back for another kick. But before he could kick arms wrap around his neck tight.

The cranks face starts to go red. He claws at the persons arms creating long bloody scratches all down his arms but the person doesn't budge or let go until the crank falls unconscious.

The person walks over to me and helps me to my feet. But I know this person."Help me get Cato we don't have much time."says Eric.

He grabs Cato's under arms and I his legs and together we pick him up and take off running deep into the halls of the maze.
