The Beginning
I wasn't raised by my mother or father, no I was raised by my uncle. My uncle, Eric, always told me a story of the love between a human and a god. I use to would think it was just a story, but as I got older..... I started to realize that the woman in the book looked a lot like my mother.
The story went that while she was driving one day she came across an injured God. He had been injured in battle and the woman took him home. Being a nurse she was able to bandage and nurse him back to health. While she took care of him he told her stories about his world, he sang songs that no human knew, and he had great power that many wished for. In the short time they were together they fell in love, and not long after they had a child. From there the story goes sad. The woman had become sick, and the god had no power in the world to save her. When she finally passed the god left the only home he had and the only family he had ever loved.
After that the child became a hero....... that part wasn't true. You see I'm as far from a hero as I can be. At the age of sixteen I snuck out of my house and got my hair cut and dyed blue and from there it just kept getting worse.
"Miss. Stone!" A voice yelled.
I laughed as I ran through the hallway and slid under a locker. I ran towards the exit and almost made it if the Principal hadn't grabbed me.
"My office. Now." He said sternly.
I let out a sigh as I followed behind him and plopped down in my favorite chair.
"Rachel.... look, I understand growing up without parents is hard, but you can't go and pick a fight with a student and then run out of the school building." He said as he let out a sigh.
"Look she started the fight, I just finished it, and as for running away.... I hate it here. A lot. I mean I am a outcast and no one wants me here..... I'm a freak to them." I said as I leaned back on my chair.
"You're a freak to everyone, it's always going to be like that unless you change. I know I'm saying the same thing as I always do, but you have to stop acting like this. No one wants to be around a girl who plays with fire." He said softly.
"I know uncle Eric! I get it I'm a freak! No one wants to be around me! Anything else you need to say or can I leave?" I asked angrily.
He nodded his head for me to leave and I took off. I made it outside and let out a sigh as I spotted my best friend Vixen sitting in a rail.
"Wow. That was cool for one and how bad did he fuss at you?" She asked as we started to walk down the street.
"Called me a freak, and then said I needed to change." I said as I shook my head.
"He is a dick! Girl don't listen to him yo yard perfect the way you are. Now do me a favor and smile." She ordered.
I sent her a small smile and she frowned.
"A real smile! Now! I am ordering you!" She yelled playfully.
I laughed as I shook my head and sent her a smile.
"There is my freak of nature. Now let's go have some fun." She said a she dragged me behind her.
I smiled as we walked down the street and made our way to the dinner. While we set down our friends Percy and Grover came up to us. They set beside us and I laughed as Grover told me about Percy holding his breath under water.
"Wow you are getting better fish bait." I said with a laugh.
"Shut up, freak of nature." He said with a smirk.
We laughed as we started to talk for awhile and the. I looked out and saw a man watching us. A bus passed by him and he disappeared.
"You okay?" Percy asked softly.
"Yea, just tired. So can you guys believe that we are going to a museum tomorrow. I mean how boring is that going to be?" I asked with a laugh.
"Super boring. I heard Mr. Brunner will be there though." Vixen said happily.
"You sicken me." I said as I shook my head.
I heard my phone go off and I let out a sigh.
"Let me guess Uncle dipshit." Grover said as he took a sip of his milkshake.
"Sadly yes. I gotta go. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I said as I stood up and ruffled Percy and Grover's hair.
"Hey! Woman it takes time to look this good!" Grover yelled.
I laughed as I walked out of the dinner and made my way home. I made it to the door and unlocked it, after I opened the door and put my backpack down.
"You are late." My uncle said calmly.
"Sorry I was with my friends."
"You call them friends, I call them useless brats." He said as he looked through his book.
"You think everyone is useless." I said as I walked up stairs.
I made it to the attic and looked around for my light. Instead of having my own bedroom I lived up here. It made me feel safe and I loved looking out the window and staring at the sky with my telescope. My room was plain and had nothing in it besides my telescope and my bed. I had a small desk which had my drawings on it. Everyday I would draw a new picture and it was always of three different men. One had short brown hair, one with long black hair, and then one of them had brown hair to his shoulders. The man with the hair to his shoulder's was one of my favorite to draw. I felt as if I had know him my whole life.
