|Chapter 8|
Late that night, Zoe attended her first Camp Half-Blood campfire. The bonfire blazed electric pink and soared higher into the air with every word of the songs sung.
Finally, towards the end of the night, Chiron raised his hands to quiet the campers. "As you all know," he said, his big, booming voice echoing through the camp, "We have some legacies of demigods and others with us today." He motioned towards Zoe and Tu, as well as a few other campers that Zoe didn't recognize. "Please welcome your newest members! I give you -"
He pointed to a boy with dark, fuzzy brown hair and the legs of a goat. "The son of Grover Underwood and Juniper Underwood, Pan Underwood." The boy waved shyly and bit into a tin can with a sickening crunch.
Chiron motioned towards a girl with dark skin, chic metallic glasses, and lush chocolate hair done in a braid. "The daughter of Piper McLean and Shel McLean, Sophia McLean." Sophia smiled at the camp, blushing.
"The son of Travis Stoll-Gardiner and Katie Stoll-Gardiner, Tulip Stoll-Gardiner!" The camp burst into laughter. "Call me Tu!" Tu shouted with his hands cupped around his mouth, but that only made them laugh harder.
"And finally, the daughter of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Jackson." The camp grew quiet with a hush, and Zoe shuddered. In the brief 24 hours she had been there she had already heard many stories about her parents. "Zoe Jackson."
Camp Half-Blood didn't make a sound. Mr. D - who was a pudgy old man everyone said was the god Dionysus - clapped his hands sharply. "Off to bed!" he yelled.
The campers went off to their respective cabins, except the four legacies. They stood around looking awkwardly at each other. Sophia and Pan both still had their duffel bags, they must have just gotten there.
"We can show you the way to our cabin," Zoe said. Sophia pushed her glasses further up on the bridge of her nose but said nothing. Pan took another crunch of his tin can.
Tu and Zoe glanced at each other, definitely feeling the awkwardness. But they forged their way ahead instead.
A/N: I hope y'all liked the names I chose for Piper's and Grover's kids! Sophia is Greek and it means wisdom. I chose Pan because I thought Grover and Juniper would like to honor the faded god. Anywho, toodloo!
