Chapter 21 : On the way to Isengard

After a moment when Legolas and Elenwë stood together, they decided to go inside the building.

Legolas grabbed Elenwë's hand and did not let go even when they entered the hall.

Gimli chuckled to himself, Aragorn winked at the elves, and Gandalf smiled at them with a smile of affection.

The two elves, still holding hands, joined their companions.

Gandalf became serious again and said:

-Tomorrow morning we will go to Isengard to find our hobbits. Be ready on time! Theoden will accompany us, as well as some Rohirrims.

-We will finally see our happy hobbits again! said Elenwë, smiling broadly.

Legolas looked at his fiancée (It's all weird 😂) and clenched his fingers in his hand.

-We should all go to sleep. He said as he looked at his companions one after the other.

-I will go, Elenwë murmured. I'm a little tired.

-I will take you home," Legolas replied.

Aragorn and Gimli exchanged glances before smiling discreetly.

Legolas, who could not let go of Elenwë's hand, accompanied her to the door of her room.

-Amin..." began Elenwë. Amin autien rath. (I am going to bed.)

-Mae, meleth nin. Losto mae. (Yes my love. Rest well.)

-What Kaima, meleth nin. Elenwë replied shyly.

Legolas smiled, leaned over and whispered in her ear:

-Amin mella le, Elenwë.

-Amin mella le, Legolas.

Gently, Legolas leaned in and captured his betrothed's lips in a soft kiss.

They shivered with pleasure before parting, smiling at each other.

Elenwë entered her room and Legolas turned the corner of the hall.

After changing, she fell gracelessly onto the bed and fell asleep immediately.

As soon as she was asleep, she dreamed.

Was it really a dream?

The night fell and in the sky, a few moments later, no moon appeared. A moonless night.

There stood a beautiful elf with long, ebony-black hair.

Her blue eyes scanned the night, looking for a presence.

A tall man with a pale complexion, gray eyes and very long white hair suddenly appeared.

He rushed towards the elf who threw himself in his arms.

-How long it was to wait for the moonless night, Tilion, my love!

-Anériel... you can't know how happy I am to have you back!

They kissed.

The scenery disappeared and Elenwë found herself on top of a cliff, on a moonless night.

Before her, the couple sat with their legs in the air.

Anériel took a deep breath and whispered:

-Tilion... I am expecting a child.

The man's face beamed with happiness.

-I am going to be a father! I want you to know that I am very happy, but you know that I will never be around much for our child.

-I know you can't... but if you are proud of this child then that is enough for me.

The place changed again.

Tilion grabbed the little girl in his hands.

-What shall we call her? asked Anériel.

-If we call her... Elenwë?

-I like that very much. Little Elenwë. Anériel murmured as he stroked his daughter's dark hair.

-She has your hair and your features. Tilion said.

-But she has your complexion and your eyes. Replied Anériel.

-I feel in her a strength... uncommon. I will ask the Valars to be godparents of our child.

-Who will you ask?

-Estë and Varda, and Ulmo and Tulkas.

-It is a great honor for her.

-She deserves it and will need their support one day.

-You have my full confidence, Tilion.

-Thank you, my love.

A few scenes passed. Anériel, often alone with Elenwë, spoke to her, sang her lullabies and waited for Tilion to return.

Every moonless night he came.

Elenwë fluttered her eyelids. The sun was already high in the sky. She had missed the departure for Isengard!

At dawn, Legolas had come to see her to tell her that they were leaving.

Seeing her so serene and so peacefully asleep, he did not have the heart to wake her. He just placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving the room.
