Juicy Mummies and Cursed Objects

It felt like they were waiting for ages as the two veterans stared out into the horizon. Rosie looked irritated at how they were not saying anything yet. Then Rick spoke up. "Get ready" was all he said and Evy looked over at him confused "for what?" she asked. There was suspense in the air as the company of five prepared themselves for some sign. "We are about to be shown the way" Rick explained, he sounded very focused as the sunlight beams down on them. Suddenly there was an image forming in the distance, it was Hamunaptra! Daniels and the others did not hesitate and kicked their horses in gear and chased towards it. Rick and Beni just watched them with straight faces. Evy, Johnathan, Rosie, and the warden watched and looked utterly confused as to why they weren't going to. "I beg your pardon but shouldn't we be going?" Jonathan asked, not taking his eyes off of the Americans who were racing to Hamunaptra. "After all, you rode us night and day to win that bet." Evy added but O'Connell stayed quiet and stared hard, just watching. Beni spit into the sand and frowned at his company that rode off "those fools" he said.

Suddenly the image shifts across the horizon to a different location, causing the Americans to shift to a halt, crashing into each other and cursing. Rosie soon came to understand after the image came to shift another three times. It was a mirage. Soon the image of the lost city comes to a stop on the far left and with one single beat. Both Beni and O'Connell share a look and then race off! Everyone else stumbled to catch up with them and the race was on. Rosie was right behind Rick and Beni. the wind flowing through her hair. Beni took his whip and tried smacking Rick with it to knock him off of his camel. Crack! Once. Crack! Twice. But on the third try, Rick grabs the whip and jerks, Beni, off of his camel. He slams on the ground and tumbles. Rosie and Evy wince, that must have hurt. Rosie caught up with Rick finally and grinned. "Come on O'Connell, is this the best you can do?" she teased and rode off. Evy laughed and ran her camel on the other side of Rick. Rick merely grinned and watched her ride off to the stone ramp that led into Hamunaptra. Rosie pulled on her reins and spoke to the camel softly slowly coming to a stop. They won! Rick smiled and then looked at Henderson who just rode up looking pissed off. "You owe me five hundred dollars!" he said happily.

While the American expedition set up the camp and got to work, Rick Johnathan, Rosie, Evy, and the Warden worked in a small crevice, which weaved its way down into the ruins. They took some rope and threw it down, tightly securing it around a pillar. They took turns going down. Johnathan rappelled down awkwardly and his butt ended up hitting the face of a statue of Anubis. It made him yelp and he dropped down. "That thing gives me the creeps," he said while looking at it again. Rosie was hesitant to go down. She felt so badly about this that it was making her feel nauseous. Rick was down there and replied to Jonathan. "Hey- be nice, that thing saved my life," he said seriously. He then looked around expecting to see everyone there but Rosie was missing. "Hey Rosie you coming?" he yelled up and saw her peering down looking nervous. "Uh..yeah," she said meekly. Her hands were sweaty and she wiped them off on her dress. Then she grabbed the rope. "Come on I'll catch ya down worry," Rick said and Rosie sighed. Like that would make her feel better. Rosie felt a breeze behind her than a small gentle whisper that sent a shiver up her spine. "Satiah...". She yelped, feeling like it came from behind her. She didn't waste any time and jumped. Repelling down the rope as fast as she could. Rick watched her practically fall down and caught her when she got at least a few feet from the ground "hey hey what's wrong lose your grip?" he asked and Rosie looked at him with a nervous face. "Uhm...yeah, sorry...heights, don't do heights," she said quickly. Rick gave her a questioning look and then let it go.

"Ah, this is amazing! According to Bembridge Scholars, inside the statue of Anubis was a secret compartment, perhaps containing The Book of the Living." Evy gushed and practically jumped for joy. Rosie looked around and couldn't see much but dust and cobwebs. Evy made her way to a dusty old mirror and started moving it. "What are the mirrors for?" Rick asked. Surprisingly Rosie beat Evy to it. "It's an Ancient Egyptian trick, you'll see." Both of her siblings look surprised at her knowledge. Rosie was never one too interested in Egyptology. Rosie was actually surprised too, she didn't know how she knew that either. It just came to her. Evy kept fixing the mirror and said. "Do you realize that we are standing inside a room that no one has entered in over four thousand years." she gushed. The warden rolled his eyes ''Who cares, I don't see any treasure at all" he grumbled and looked around. "Well, you are welcome to have my share of cobwebs buddy" Rick shot back at him. "And it stinks to high heaven in here," Johnathan's said while covering his nose. Evelyn just rolls her eyes at them. Rick made a torchlight while Evy was trying to figure out the mirror. Finally, after a few minutes, she fixed it. "And then there was light" she muttered and then the mirror hit a ray of light that quickly hit the other mirrors in the room, lighting up the place until the whole chamber was lit up. Evy gasped at the sight "oh my god it's a preparation room!" she said and rick raised an eyebrow she then clarified "it's for entering the afterlife," she said in an ominous tone. "Mummies, my good son, this is where they made the mummies.: Jonathan said and grinned. He did not get a smile back as Rick held a gun in his hand, feeling uneasy about anything involving death and the so-called afterlife. Rosie looked around and saw all of the tables and decaying equipment. Evy called for her as the others started to look around more, navigating the long tunnels. They could hear scratching coming from the walls as they walked down them. It puts everyone on edge. Soon they arrived at the foot of the Anubis statue. They heard the same scratching sound again but it was coming closer like it was coming from the other side of the statue. They grew tense as it got louder until it was all quiet. They were suddenly met with three faces. Rick held up his gun but didn't shoot when they realized who it was. The Americans. They were also holding up their guns. Henderson relaxed a bit, "you scared the bejesus out of us O'Connell!" Rick nodded "well, likewise," he said back. But no one seemed to lower their guns. Daniels had a sly grin on his face. "This here is our statue...friend." Rick glared at him "I don't see your name on it...pal". That is when five diggers and the Egyptologist stand out of the shadows with guns as well. Rick and the others looked at all of the guns. "Ten-to-one O'Connell, your odds are not so good" Beni squeaked out, holding his own gun up to him. Beni was smirking, hoping that he would get shot. "I've had worse," he said back, followed by Johnathan holding his tiny gun in his hand. "Yes! As have I!" Rick gave him a side glance as if to say 'really'. Then he looked back at the Americans. Just as the tension thickens Evy weaves her way in between them "now then let's play nice children, if we are going to play together then we must learn to share." She said Evy pulls Rick away gently. Rosie added "there are other places to dog let's just go" and with that, the two women lead the men away from the other company.

Soon they are at where they started. But Rick and Johnathan were using sledgehammers to hit and break away at the ceiling. Rosie helped with a hammer and Evy picked away with a small chisel. "According to my calculations, we should be right under the statue. Well come up right in between his legs' ' Evelyn said as she worked. Rosie laughed and Evy slowly understood why she was laughing and blushed. "Oh, my '' she said softly. It went over Johnathan's head as he hit the ceiling hard. "And when those dirty Yanks go to sleep--" he stopped and realized, looking at O'Connell. ''No offense," he said and Rick shook his head "none taken". He continued "we'll sneak up and steal that book right out from under them. "Are you sure we will find the compartment?" Evy nodded "Yes unless the Egyptologist has already found it '' she said to Rick. Johnathan stopped, huffing. Then he looked around "I say, where did our smelly friend go himself up to?" He asked, Rosie rolled her eyes ''I don't care as long as he is out of the way," she said and kept working.

In a dark chamber away from the others, the warden was scrambling to light a torch. And the light shines onto a mural wall. The Warden looked at it in awe, then he saw the beautiful blue scarabs embedded into the wall. "Hah! What is this? Blue gold!" he said out loud and brought out his knife. Moving to the wall snickering to himself as he starts prying away at one of the bugs.

All the while the Americans hovered around the Egyptologist at their dig site. They had found the secret compartment inside Anubis. The Egyptologist takes a brush and dusts the sand away from the seam. Henderson goes to open it but the Egyptologist stops him. "Seti was no fool..." He looked at Henderson with a serious gaze. Henderson took his words with a grain of salt and sighed. Pinching his nose then motioned for the diggers to open it instead. "Sure yeah uh...you three! Go!" he said and they walked up to open the compartment. They knew of the stories and the curses that haunt this place, but the money was good. And that was all it came down to..the money. They all were hesitant. So Daniels gave them some motivation by pulling out the gun that he loved to wave around to make him look like a big boy. "Go on, we don't pay ya to sit and watch!" all of the company stood back as one digger gathered his courage and put his crowbar to the seam of the compartment. He worked on it while the other diggers stepped back in fear...

Back to our wonderful team that is chipping away at the ceiling. Rosie sputtered when some of the dust got in her mouth and face. She rubbed her lips and made a face while the others worked. Rick looked down to check on her and then went back to work. Evy grinned at the thought of something that excited her so she thought she would share it with the class. "Hey, by the way, do you all know how they removed the brains out of the dead?" she asked and Rosie made a grossed-out face "girl no thank you please no-" she was cut off by her sister as she continued her little lesson. "They would stick a red hot poker up your nose, cut your brain into small pieces, then rip it all out through your nostrils!" while she explained she used her hands as an example, making gestures. Rosie rubbed her nose and groaned. "That is disgusting," she said and Johnathan grimaced "ouch! That's really got to hurt-" He said and shook his head. "Well, it's called mummification. You are dead when they do this." Evy said and picked more at the wall. Rosie felt a wave of sickness just wash over her for a moment. "But just imagine it.." she muttered to herself... She used to have dreams when she was younger. Of a man screaming her name. It would scare her so badly that she would run to her mother and father's room and sleep there.

As all of them worked the ceiling slowly cracked and gave out. Rosie yelped and grabbed hold of Evy pushing her out of the way as the boys dashed out of the way too. A huge object fell from the ceiling, it crashed to the floor with a huge cloud of dust following it. Almost filling the room. The Americans could hear it from where they were and looked alarmed. While the Egyptologist just yelled at the workers to push harder. "Feni!... Feni!" he yelled as all three pushed at the seam with their crowbars. It seemed to budge some, then suddenly a black liquid sprayed out of the seam and hit the workers in the face! All three cried out and wailed as the liquid melted their skin and burned them. They all died slowly as their skin melted off their face. Crying out for help until they could not. All three perished.

Back in the chamber, the four looked in shock at the huge object that fell from the ceiling. Evy moved closer to take a better look. "Oh my god...it looks like a...a sarcophagus," she said and dusted off the top of it and moved debris. Rick looked just as confused as everyone else was. "Why would they bury someone in the ceiling?" he said and helped Evy out. Evy shook her head, not even looking at Rick, she was too focused on the person they had just found. "They didn't. They buried this person at the base of Anubis. He was either someone of great importance or he did something very naughty" Rosie scoffed. "Yeah, very naughty I bet. Let's just get out of here, this doesn't feel right guys..I mean he was put there for a reason so shouldn't we respect that and leave him there!?" Rosie was tense and nervous but didn't know why. Rick and the others saw this and Johnathan went to give her a side hug. "Hey hey it's fine. Nothing bad came about from finding a sarcophagus. And I bet he'd make a pretty penny!" he said with a grin. Rosie didn't feel comforted at all by that. "Yeah, like totally not a curse or some boobytrap," she said and shook her head, pushing John away gently. "Oh I don't believe in hokum like that," Evy said. Rosie shrugged. "Eh well when he comes up to get ya don't come crawling to me-'' Evy shook her head "mhm sure," she said and finally brushed off the dust and read the inscription. "Well, who is it?" John asked impatiently. Evy looked focused and read out loud. "He that shall not be named," she said with concern. Rick dusted off a lock and tapped it. "Some sort of lock here..You say these are made out of granite and lined with steel?" he asked and analyzed the casing. "Yes but this one has quarried granite with cobalt lining," she said and still looked concerned mixed with a look of confusion. "Whoever's in there, sure wasn't getting out," Jonathan said. "No kidding now let's leave it where it's supposed to be and let's go home~," Rosie said and smiled, pointing to the exit. But was ignored by them and frowned. "and without a key, it might take us a month to crack this open" Rick said and then looked over at Rosie who was very clearly uncomfortable. "Ah Come on Rosie I thought you told me nothing scared you back at the bar," he said with a hint of amusement. Rosie shook her head and crossed her arms. "Nothing does but I don't mess with the dead, it isn't right," she said and didn't even notice his comment about the bar. Both of her siblings shared a look of questioning. A bar? Did they know each other beforehand? That was what both were thinking. Evy then had a light bulb light up in her head. "Ah hah! A key! That's what the hooked man was talking about!" John put his hands in his pockets. "Ah ol hookie, can't forget him," he said sarcastically. Evy stood up and turned John around to get to his backpack, rummaging around in it until she found what she was looking for. It was the mysterious box they had found or rather stole from Rick. "hey that's mine!" John reached out for it but Evy smacked his hand away and went to the sarcophagus. She fiddles with the box and unfolds it until it is the exact shape of the keyhole on the sarcophagus. Rosie had to admit it was a bit thrilling but then just as Evy was about to unlock it there was a shrill scream. It was the warden! He was running towards them at full speed. He ran around the room with a crazed look in his eye and clawing at his head. Crying and asking to 'get them out. Rosie grabbed his hands to stop him from hurting himself but he pushed her to the ground and then proceeded to run full-on into the wall and hit his head against the wall. Collapsing on the ground. Dead. Rosie looked in terror at the warden and was helped up by Evy. Rosie dusted off her red dress and huffed. "Bloody hell," she said.

Later on, the crew went back up to camp with the warden's body in tow. It wasn't an easy task to get him back up there. But they did and gave him a somewhat decent burial. The four sat around the fire in silence until Evelyn spoke up. "What do you suppose killed him?" Rosie was quiet the whole time just looking into the flames. "Johnathan scoffed at the question "did you ever see him eat?" Then suddenly Rick comes back from talking with some of the workers from the American camp. "Seems the Americans had a little misadventure of their own today, three of their diggers were killed" Evy gasped and looked at Rick "Oh my god, how?" Rick went and sat next to her. "Salt acid. Pressurized salt acid. Some sort of ancient boobytrap" he explained. Rosie looked into the flames and grimaced at hearing how they died. This place was terrible. As she looked into the flames she could see shapes formed by the orange and yellow flames. They took shape into a vision of some sort. There were no defining features of the people she saw. Just an outline of a woman and a man who seemed to be in an embrace. A third came into view. All of it seemed tragic. She was quiet as she watched the apparent fight happening between the three. She gasped as she saw the woman stab the other. She could almost feel the cold blade pierce her abdomen. Rick and everyone looked over to Rosie "Hey Rose are you ok? What's wrong?" Evy asked and put a hand on her shoulder. Rosie couldn't just tell her she saw something in the fire. She would be deemed mad! "Uh nothing just shook up is all," she said and Evy nodded. "What happened was terrible," she agreed. "Maybe this place really is cursed" John muttered as a gust of wind blew through the camp. Both of the men share a nervous look.

"Hahaha! Oh, you three!" Evy laughed at them. Rick looked at her and asked, " you don't believe in curses huh?" Evy shook her head. "No. I believe if you can see it and touch it, then it's real. That's what I believe." she said and smiled at him. Rick smiled back and then cocked his gun making a loud Ka- CHok noise. "Well I believe in being prepared," he said. While they were having their little moment Johnathan went through the late warden's bags. He nudges around and then yelps. Making the others jump. He pulled his hand back in pain. "Ah!" he winced at the blood coming out of the cut on his hand. "What? are you ok?" Rosie asked and moved over to him. Looking worried. Jonathan then reaches back into the bag and pulls out a liquor bottle that had the top of it broken. Rosie sighed and rolled her eyes walking back to her place. "Seagrams! Well he may have been a stinky fellow, but he sure did have good taste" he hummed and took a swig of the drink. Evy couldn't help but laugh but then there was gunfire! Rosie jumped and looked around to see where it was coming from, reaching for her own gun as Rick gave Evy a gun. "You two! Stay here!" He said to Rosie and Evy. Rosie rolled her eyes, "I'm only staying to protect my sister." She said she hated being told what to do. Unbeknownst to her, Evy had snuck off. Rosie cursed and looked around. And went after her. Jonathan had his own minigun and cradled his bottle of drink as well. "Uh excuse me! Did he not just say to stay here- ah!" He was cut off by more gunfire and hurriedly followed his sisters.

The Whole Camp was under attack. Madjai had stormed the American camp. Shooting at everyone while riding their horses. Several of the unarmed diggers were killed. Daniels had come out of his tent with a half-shaven beard. Shooting at whatever moved. Suddenly he gets shot in the arm and cries out falling to the ground. His companions come to his aid and start firing at the madjai while protecting Daniels. As Rick was fighting he had bumped into Beni who was trying to make a clean getaway on a camel. "Goin somewhere?" Rick asked and Beni gave a sheepish smile. "Oh just looking for you O'Connell! I wanted to be with my friend!" he said and rick deadpanned. Grabbing him roughly and pulling him to the fight. "Well then, come on friend," he said while Beni was struggling in his grip. "Why do you like fighting so much huh!?" Beni yelled and still struggled. 'Cause I look good doing it, '' he said and Rosie couldn't agree more. She shot at some major and dogged attacks. Rick attacked the next madjai who came up to him with his horse and a sword. He knocked him down and soon as he started to reach for his sword, Rick shot it away. The madjai looked at Rick and then caught the eye of Rosie. She looked at him for a bit but then had to fend off a hit from a guy. She looked back and the man was gone. As they fought Rosie had almost run out of ammo. She punched a guy in the face as he got close and then grabbed his arm that held the gun in his hand and twisted. The madjai cried out and struggled. Rosie hit him over the head and pushed him away. The Madjai that Rosie had seen disappear was now on the higher sand dunes, sitting on a horse. Calling back his men. "Leave this place! Leave this place or die!" he yelled and then left with the rest of his men.

Evy Walked up with her gun and looked shaken. Rick noticed this and pulled her close, checking her for any injuries. " hey are you ok?" he asked and held her close. She looked up at him and into his brown eyes. She rather liked how close he was holding her. It made her heart beat fast and her stomach felt butterflies. Something Evy hadn't felt since she was a young girl when she met her first crush. She looked dazed and nodded. "Yes..Uhm..thank you..". The Americans helped their companion up and looked over at the direction the madjai disappeared to. "That Just proves that Seti's fortune is under this sand!" Henderson said and put pressure on Daniels' hurt arm. Daniels then adds "For them to it like this, you just know there's got to be treasure down there," he said and winced as his arm was wrapped up.

Rick just looked unsatisfied as he looked out into the horizon "no, these people, they are desert people, they value water more than gold" he explained. Which went over the Americans' heads. Evy suddenly looked worried. "Where's Rosie and Johnathan?' Rick looked around. Seeing Rosie off a few feet away and then no sign of john. The three went back to camp and found Johnathan totally drunk, acting dead. He laughed and then looked at the three. "Ayeeee gotcha!" he said and Evy rolled her eyes. Just feeling relieved her siblings were safe. Rosie picked up some things that were tossed around and then sat by her brother. "Share," she said and took the bottle from her brother. He let out a small noise and she took a long swig of the drink before giving it back. It's been a long night. Rosie was able to hold her liquor, unlike her dear siblings. Evy slurred her speech and talked to Rick. Rosie put her brother's hat on her head to cover her eyes and try to sleep. "Hah- unlike my brother sire, I know when to say no." she said. Johnathan was passed out on the other side of the campfire. Rick chuckled. He finished the rest of the bottle and chucked it. "Unlike your brother miss, you I don't get. You are a whole new brew". Rosie was listening slightly to their conversation. Hopefully, things won't go as they did last time. "I-I know, you're wondering what a place like me...is doing in a girl like this?" she said and Rosie fought her bubbling laughter. Rick hummed tilting his head "mmm something like that". Evy pulled out a locket from her neck. Showing a picture of her departed mother and father. "Well you see, Egypt is in my blood. My father was a famous explorer and he loved Egypt so much that he married an Egyptian...my mother! And she was quite the adventurer herself." Evy explained. "Okay I get your father, your mother, brother, and I sort of get your sister, but what are you doing here?" That question made Evy stand up straight and look offended. "I may not be an explorer, or or an adventurer, or a treasure hunter, or a gunfighter! MIster O'connell but I am proud of what I am." she said and rick cracked a small grin. "And what is that?" Evy held her head up high and smiled. "Am a Librarian!" she said, then leaning in closer to him. Looking into her eyes and he looked back into hers. She looked at his lips and then back at him. "A-and I am going to kiss you now mister O'Connell." she said "no no you aren't," he said but kept close to her. "I'm not?" she asked back and looked confused. "Not unless you call me rick." he said and then Evy had a smile spread on her face. She nodded. Moving closer and laced her hands in his hair. "Well then..Rick.." she said softly, they inched closer but then the mood was cut short when she slumped forward and passed out drunk. Rick sighed and caught her. Putting her down next to her brother and covering her up. He looked back at Rosie who was laying there asleep. "You can stop acting," he said and she sighed. Sitting up "I wasn't acting, I was actually trying to sleep until I heard that failed attempt." she said savagely. Rickrolled his eyes and sat next to her. "Sure, I know how you really sleep Rose...uh so did you hear everything?" she hummed "yup!" Rick nodded. "Well then you heard how I don't really get you either. I mean I get you but then there is that one question that sticks out that I haven't asked." he said. She knew he was going to ask sooner or later. "Yeah I have a feeling what that question is...um..our parents found me in London in an alleyway. I was only a few months old so... I don't know my birth parents. But they raised me as their own even though they faced a lot of prejudice about it from others.: she said and summed it up nice and short. Rick nodded. "Alright but what are you doin here if you hate it. You keep saying it isn't a good idea being here." he said and Rosie shrugged. "I'm here to support my siblings. They have always been looking out for me so it's time I return the favor. And also I don't think we should be here. I don't know if it started out as a gut feeling. And it sort of proved me right after all of the crap that happened" she said and Rick listened. "You shouldn't worry, I am here, I can protect you and your siblings...I won't let anything hurt you Rose". she nodded "I know...just don't hurt Evy ok.." she said and moved away noticing how close they got. She laid down and sighed. "I'm beat, night Rick," she said and he heard a faint goodnight from him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning Evy and Johnathan were nursing their hangover. "Ugh I can't believe I allowed you three to get me drunk" she grumbled and grabbed her gear. Johnathan followed her to the rope that led to the preparation room. "Well don't bloody blame me! I don't even remember being there" he said and slid down the rope after his sister. Rick and Rosie followed after. Rosie chuckled and landed easily. "Well, neither do I thank you" Rick frowned. So she forgot their moment? "You don't?" he asked. Evy looked at him. Giving him a nervous look "erm, no...should i?" she asked. Rick grinned and said "well yeah you said it was the best you ever had," he said as a joke. Rosie dropped her bag making a loud bang and the two winced. Holding their heads. "Oops," she said innocently then picked up her bag. Their attention moved to the sarcophagus in front of them. The boys lifted it to have it standing. And Evy looked very excited. She pulled out the key....
The Americans had to pull their guns on the remainder of their workers and they looked fearful as they were made to grab the continents in the hidden compartment. They pulled out an old golden chest. They set the chest down. The Egyptologist pushed them away and read the hieroglyphs. "There is a curse upon this chest," he said gravely. All three of the Americans groaned. "Who cares!" Daniels said. His one arm in a sling. Henderson and Burns agreed with him. "Curse my ass," Henderson said and went to the chest. The Egyptologist stopped him and gave him a warning look. "In these hallowed grounds, that which has set forth in ancient times, is as strong today, as it was then," he said. Henderson looked about done with his spews of curses and ancient things. "Yeah yeah well then what's it say?" he asked and the egyptologist went to the chest to read it out loud. "Death will come on wings to this chest". There then was a gust of wind that frightened the diggers. The torches began to flicker and they screamed, running away, not being able to take it anymore. Of course, it made the four men nervous. But the Americans decided to laugh it off. The Egyptologist kept translating the script. " It says, is one, the undead, who if brought back to life, is bound by law to consummate this curse," he said and the Americans just continued to laugh. "Yeah, well, let's just make sure we don't anybody back from the dead then, huh?" Henderson said. The Egyptologist looked annoyed by their ignorance. "He will kill all who open this chest, ...and their organs and fluids!" he said to just make his message clearer that they should not open the chest. But of course, they didn't listen. BUrns chuckled. Cleaning his glasses. "Assimilate and fluids? Ya mean eat 'em?" he asked and the Egyptologist looked at him with a straight face. Clearly done with this job. "And in so he will regenerate. And no be the undead, but a plague upon this earth." there was yet another gust of wind in the chamber they were in. the torches flickered and there was a brief wave of uneasiness. "Ah hell, let's open it anyways," said Henderson and walked over to the chest...
While the Americans had their cursed object to deal with. Evy was looking excited to open the wooden casket that was in the now open stone sarcophagus. "Oh I have been dreaming about this since I was a little girl!" she said. Rick made a confused face. "You dream about dead guys?" Evy gave him a look then moved over brushing the cobwebs off the coffin and then froze. "Look, all the have been off. The hieratics and that the deceased on his into the afterlife, they've been removed. This man was cursed, ....doomed" she said gravely. It sent a shiver down Rosie's spine and Johnathan rolled his eyes. "Yes well I'm all tears, now let's see who's inside shall we?" he clapped and inserted the key into the final lock. Rosie stood back not too excited to see a dried-up corpse. While the other three looked at the coffin intently. The lid cracks open with a hiss, they all react to the foul stench coming from inside. Even Rose could smell it. She covered her nose in disgust. Rick pulled at the lid, it seemed to be stuck. Slowly it starts to give until it opens and the mummy jokes forward scaring the team to death. It was covered in maggots and was rotten. Rosie gasped and looked away. "Oh god!" she yelled. The corpse was twisted and deformed. The mummy slumped back in his coffin. "I hate when they do that!" Evy yelled. The three looked closer at the mummy. Clearly creeped out. Rosie took a few steps closer. "Uh, is he supposed to look like that?" Rick asked Evy. Evy looked lost for words. "No, I've never seen a mummy like this before...it's like he's still...still-" All four of them thought the same and said together. "Juicy".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As Henderson and Burns worked on the lid of the chest Beni was off to the side watching. He was getting more and more nervous. He started sweating and shaking. Then he couldn't take it anymore. Running away shouting about the curse. Daniels scoffed at him and they continued. The lid cracked slowly and then suddenly the four were enveloped by a cloud of black smoke that escaped from the chest. Turning their vision black.
