Chapter 06 - And there were only two left - part 2
Hey guys,
before you start reading I just wanted to let you know that the story might be not uploded in the next few weeks.
I'll be moving at the beginning of next month. You heard that right: This little Kitzune is now a big Kitsune (that sounds so weird 😅) and ready to live on her own!
This means that I will first have to set up my apartment, find a good network provider and generally get to grips with living alone.
But I can promise you: As soon as I upload again, you will not only get the actual chapter but also the ones that would have been uploaded. In short: Depending on how long it takes me, you could get a month's worth of chapters in one fell swoop! (It's only four chapters, but still).
I would like to thank you for your brief attention and hope you enjoy the story.

A few months later, after the World Government reviewed the Goa Kingdom. The residents had returned to their old routines. The mountains of garbage were back just as they were before.

~ Jungle on Dawn ~
"Here I come, Ace!" Luffy shouted and ran towards the black-haired boy. He stood away from her with his arms crossed as she rotated her arm and shouted, "Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" Her arm shot at him with full force, no longer snaking like it had been at the beginning of their training. Ace took a step to the side at the last second. He was surprised at how far she had come in controlling her devil power. A wide grin graced her face as her arm flew wide. But that changed when her arm tightened again and hit her face amidst her scream. The impact caused her to fall backwards and her straw hat flew off her head. Ace laughed at the sight of his little sister. It seemed as if she was floating in the air while, unintentionally, rotating several times on her own axis. "What the hell was that? Do you call that a fight?" he asked her in a good mood. She lay on the floor, dazed. "No matter how much power you put into it, it's no use if you can't even hit me. I told you rubber is useless for fighting." Luffy sat up, her brown eyes sparkling with anger as she yelled at him, "Shut up! Stop saying that!" "What?! Are you telling me I'm wrong?!" Ace snapped, his hot temper seeming to come to the fore once again, "You're just an anchor who's immune to bullets!" Luffy was now standing directly in front of Ace, her forehead pressed against his. "Don't make fun of the Gomu Gomu no Mi! One day I'll bet you! Despite everything, I'm already working on a technique that's even more powerful than a pistol!"
"Luffy, good job! Your arm has stretched further than yesterday!" a familiar voice came from the side of the two arguing. Ace turned to the person and pointed his finger at him before saying, "Sabo! You're way too nice with Luffy!" Luffy also turned to him, a broad smile adorning her face. She threw her arms up in the air, her eyes closed as she shouted happily, "I've really gotten stronger! Stronger than I was yesterday! Hey, Sabo!" She happened to say the last sentence with Ace. They looked at the spot where their blonde brother was standing and saw...
...a large stone. Both of their faces blushed as they realized that they had only imagined Sabo. Luffy pressed her lips together, lowered her head and took a few steps away from Ace. He followed her with his eyes. She sighed in disappointment and said, "Sabo was such a nice older brother." Ace looked at her in horror before his temper flared up again. "What's that supposed to mean?! Would you have preferred it if I had died?!" Now Luffy got angry. "I didn't say that!" How did Ace come up with such a stupid idea?! Of course she would prefer it if Sabo was still with them! "But that's what you meant to say!" Ace shouted at her before headbutting her. Luffy screamed briefly and held her head. Could it perhaps be that the ability to hurt her despite her rubber powers was hereditary in the Monkey D. family? "Sabo never hit me!" "What was that?!" "What wrong with you?! Would you mind being a little nicer?!" "Absolutely not!"

~ Hideout of the Dadan Family ~
Inside the hut, Dadan, who was drinking sake again, Dogura, who was reading a book, and Magura, who was eating something, were sitting around the fireplace when a paper ball flew against Dadan's head. She sat through it in surprise before crumpling it up and reading the following: "I will build my own kingdom - A." "A kingdom?" she asked confused. What was that supposed to mean again? Dogura and Magura stood next to her as another paper was thrown into the hut. Dogura caught it and asked: "What is that?" He crumpled the paper and read: "Me too – L."
When the three stepped in front of the hut they saw two crooked, poorly assembled shelters. Small, black stones were placed on the ground at regular intervals on each side. They were probably intended to represent a dividing line. The shelter, which was set up closer to the hut, had a white flag flying on the roof and a blue sign that said "Luffy's Kingdom". In the shelter, Luffy sat cross-legged with her arms crossed over her chest, some sacks could be seen in their construct behind her. The other shelter looked a little more neatly constructed. At the top he had two crossed swords and an orange shield that read, neatly written, "Ace's Kingdom." Ace also sat cross-legged in his and supported himself with his arms. Some boxes could be seen behind him. Dadan stood between the shelters in front of the children and put her hands on her hips as she asked: "What's going on?" It was Luffy who spoke first, her gaze stubbornly forward: "I'll lern how to survive alone. You can be the Dadan Kingdom." "I'll borrow your bathroom every now and then," said Ace, also looking straight ahead. "Hm!", the two children turned their heads in opposite directions and didn't look at each other when they made that sound. Dadan looked to one side then to the other. She could already feel a headache slowly starting to form.

~ Somewhere in the jungle ~
The sky was covered in clouds when a deep rumble of thunder sounded. The seven-year-old backed away a little nervously as she tightened her grip on her pipe. Ace sat on the branch of a nearby tree and watched the whole thing. He had his arms and the pipe crossed behind his head. A growl escaped the huge bear that stood in front of the straw hat wearing child. She looked resolutely at the beast and got into a fighting stance. She turned her head slightly and called to the black-haired boy: "Ace, please help me, there is a bear here!" She had no illusions, she knew that she had no chance on her own. Ace turned his head to the side and called down to her: "Huh, I thought you wanted to survive on your own?!" She gritted her teeth in frustration as she looked forward again. Why did Ace have to be so stubborn?! There was no turning back now, she could only hope for the best. The bear let out a loud roar. "Here I come," she growled and attacked. She dodged the first blow and struck herself, without effect. She was still in the air when she saw the paw coming towards her, her eyes wide with shock. A scream escaped her before she was hit and everything went black around her. Blood and her straw hat flew through the air as Ace's eyes widened in shock. His scream echoed through the jungle, "Luffy!"
A storm had arisen. It was raining heavily as Ace ran through the jungle with his little sister on his back. A blanket lay over her limp body, slightly protecting her from the rain. Her head lay motionless on Ace's shoulder and her straw hat sat on her head. How could he have been so stupid?! She had even asked him for help, damn it! She had known that she had no chance against the bear alone and he had done nothing!
He had finally reached his destination. He banged on the door and shouted, with clear panic in his voice, "Hey, is anyone home?! Luffy is seriously injured! Now open already!" Magura opened the door. "Magura, Luffy urgently needs help!" The man with the cockscomb looked at the unconscious girl in shock. "Oh man, oh man. Come on, come in!" A flash of lightning flashed through the night sky as Luffy lay on the futon, treated and her face contorted in pain. She was still unconscious and could be heard whimpering softly. Ace sat huddled against one of the nearby walls, unable to hold back his tears. Magura sat next to the injured one as he said, "Boy oh boy, this really isn't funny anymore. If the wound had been a little deeper, she would have died." He turned his head to the crying boy. "It's understandable. After all, the three of you always hunted the beasts together." "It's all my fault!" said Ace, still crying, "I should have known that she would never be able to do this alone!" The tears streamed down his face even harder . "I'm an idiot! I totally failed!" Magura looked at him gently. He had never seen Ace cry like that in the three years he had lived with them. "It's okay, Ace." "I'm sorry, Luffy! I am so sorry!"

~ Capital ~
It had been a few weeks since the incident as the two siblings were running through the streets of the capital. An angry restaurant owner ran after the two, screaming: "They're carousers, stop them!" Exhausted, he supported himself on his legs. Ace suddenly thought of something. He had asked Makino, during her last visit, to teach him how to properly thank someone. "Oh, uh, listen, Luffy. We forgot something!" "Uh, you're right!" The two stopped and turned to the man. He looked at them in surprise and confusion and couldn't believe his eyes. The two children bowed slightly to him and said at the same time: "Thank you for the food!" "You better pay your bills, you snotty brats!" he shouted after them.

~ In the jungle ~
Screaming and waving her arm, she ran towards Ace, who, as always, looked at her unimpressed with his arms crossed. "Today I'm going to win, Ace!" He grinned before jumping into the air, dodging her attack and kicking her in the face.
Together they stood in front of a huge bear, which raised its paw and growled. The siblings stared at him resolutely before jumping over his punch and retaliating with a scream. Ace threw his pipe into the bear's maw and then kicked it with full force before Luffy hit the protruding end with her pipe. It fell to the ground unconscious. The two of them slapped their arms together so that they formed an X and shouted happily with a big grin on their face: "Bull hit!" "Tonight we're having bear stew!"
The two experienced a lot together on Dawn. In winter, when they went to the outskirts of the city and some criminals were already trying to escape from them. When they explored the jungle and encountered previously unknown creatures that almost ate Luffy and were taken down by Ace to save his little sister. When Garp came to visit and "train" with them. The years slowly passed and the bond between them became stronger and stronger. Anyone who didn't know them thought they were real siblings. Not only because of the similar appearance but also the similar behavior.

~ Ace: 17 – Luffy: 14 ~
It was the day Ace began his journey. He wore black pants that reached his knees. An orange belt with an A on the belt buckle was threaded through the loops. A small blue bag was attached to his left trouser leg. He was wearing a yellow shirt, which he wore open, showing his toned upper body. He wore an orange elbow pad on his left arm and on his head he wore a cowboy hat, also orange, with a red beaded band. There was a smiling face and a sad face, which were separated by a pearl on the front part of the hat. The hat had an extended hat band that reached down to his belly button. At chest level there was a small pendant in the shape of a cattle skull. A pistol was stored in a holder on his left hip. He had a green duffel bag shouldered on his back. He stood in a small sailing boat that was anchored on the edge of the jungle and looked at the people who came to see him off. There stood Woop Slapp, Makino, Magura and on his back Dogura, the other mountain bandits and, above all, Luffy. Her body had changed over the past few years. She had acquired more feminine curves and her face was narrower. She had kept her hair short and her straw hat sat on top of it. She was wearing blue short shorts and a dark blue top with the number 56 on it. In general, a beautiful, young girl. Grinning broadly, she waved at him and shouted: "Take care of yourself, Ace!" "Yes, you too Luffy! I'll get going!" "I'll train hard here and in three years I'll be much stronger. Then I'll set sail too," she said with her hands on her hips. Ace grinned at them again before sailing off. "Good luck, Ace! All the best, brother dear!" "Take care of yourself!" "Don't catch a cold!" "You hear from me friends! I'm going to make a name for myself now!"
Ace, the grandson of the naval hero Garp, who grew up without knowing his parents, calmly set sail off the coast of Mount Corbo.
Luffy laughed slightly and watched her brother until he disappeared over the horizon. She laughed briefly before saying, "Well, Ace will be fine." Behind her, Dogura and Magura wiped away their tears. "Hum, just wondering what Garp will say about that," Woop Slapp sighed.

~ In the jungle ~
Luffy stood alone in the shared training area of Sabo, Ace and her. The three pipes of the three were stuck in the ground of a tree. Two crossed each other and the third stood vertically in the middle. She was standing away from a small rock when she said: "I still have three years to go." She walked a little towards it and swung her arm around. "And Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" Her arm shot forward and destroyed the top of the rock. Surprised, she pulled it back again. "Oh shit! That was a bit off." Suddenly she saw her deceased brother in front of the rock. He had his head bowed and smiled as he said, "You're close, Luffy. You just have to shift your weight forward a little." She looked at him in surprise before grinning. Just shifting her weight forward. She had to try this immediately! She stood firmly and began circling her arm again after tensing her muscles. "And Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" She hit forward with full force, hitting the middle of the rock and shattering it into many small pieces. She grinned as her arm tightened again. As did Sabo, who now looked up before his illusion disappeared. "I've gotten stronger!" she said cheerfully, pumping her fists in the air and shouting, "I've gotten a lot stronger!"

~ A few months later ~
Luffy had marked Ace's hideout on her building and crossed out his name. This made it just as big as the mountain bandits' huts. She was sitting there when Dogura came running, holding a newspaper. "Luffy! Look what's in the newspaper!" "What?" she asked and stood up. "Read it for yourself!" said Dogura and handed her the newspaper. She picked up the newspaper and started reading. She wasn't actually interested in the paper, but if Dogura was that excited there must be something interesting in it. Her eyes widened with joy as she read the article, which was what the little bandit meant. "Amazing! Ace has become famous! His ship and crew are also in the photo. Wow, Ace is really awesome," she said with bright eyes before laughing slightly. "I'll be ready soon too!"

~ Hideout of the Dadan Family ~
~ 3 years later - Luffy: 17 years old ~
"Hey, listen!" said Luffy and looked through the open door into the interior of the hut. She now wore short blue shorts and a red vest with three gold buttons. Underneath this she had on a red bikini top in case she wanted to wear her vest open. She had a long discussion with Dadan about it because at first she didn't want to wear it underneath, which the older woman ultimately won. Her short, shaggy, raven-black hair reached down to her ears. Her large, dark brown eyes shone with joy.
In the inside, the entire gang sat together and looked at her, except for Dadan, who had her back to her. "I'm leaving now. Don't you want to say goodbye to me at the harbor?" She could have done as Ace and left the island inconspicuously. But she wanted to say goodbye to everyone in the village again, it felt right to her. "Rather not. Makino and the Mayor are no problem, but the people from Foosha Village will panic if I come down the mountain with the whole gang." The orange-haired woman couldn't see the slightly disappointed expression on Luffy's face, but she could hear it in her voice when she said: "Oh, but that would be cool." "Now get away, Luffy!" "Okay," but she shouted the next sentence more cheerfully, "See you again, guys! Thank you for everything. You were really great!" Embarrassed, the bandits scratched their heads as Dogura said: "You don't have to thank us. This makes us very embarrassed." "Take good care of yourself," Magura added. "Sure I will."
She turned around and was about to leave when she remembered something else. "Uh, one more thing!" The bandits looked at her in surprise. What else could she have forgotten? "Dadan, you know I can't stand mountain bandits." "Go away, you snotty brat!" Dadan said angrily. Did she just want to remind them? She stood in the doorway with a broad smile, one arm raised as she said, "But I love you guys!" Dadan's cigarette fell out of her mouth as she gasped for air. She reached into her cleavage and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe away her streaming tears before saying in a whiny voice, "Stop talking nonsense and get out of here! What kind of rubbish are you talking about? That's unbelievable!" The other bandits couldn't help but smile at Luffy's words. "Are you crying?" Luffy asked cheekily. "I'm not crying! How many times do I have to tell you this?!"

~ Foosha Village – At the Docks ~
Luffy stood with his hands on his hips in a small fishing boat that one of the fishman had given her and looked up at the villagers who had come to say goodbye to her. "With that nutshell you'll capsize in no time." "Yeah, he is right. That won't get you very far." "Don't worry, it's okay. I'll start small," she said, before laughing and turning towards the sea. She put her arms in the air and shouted as loud as she could, "Sabo! Watch me! I'm setting sail now too!" She then said in a much quieter voice and reached for her hat: "Sabo was the first, Ace was the second and I'm the third. But I don't have to hide from anyone. Just be careful, Ace! I'll catch up with you soon!" She shouted the last part again so loudly that everyone heard her. The villagers didn't understand what she had said and one asked, "What's this, Luffy? What are you saying to yourself? Is that a magic spell or something?" She turned back to them and said, "No, not a magic spell. A challenge!" Some of the younger residents quietly wondered who this Ace was that she had mentioned shortly before.
"Well, I have to go now, friends!" she said with a broad smile and waved to them again. She loosened the rope that had held the boat in place and began rowing toward the open sea. The villagers waved to her and some even wished her good luck as she moved further and further away from the island. "We won't see her again anytime soon, Mayor. I'm going to miss her a lot," Makino said with his hands on his hips and looking after the young girl. Woop Slapp, who was standing right next to the young bartender, crossed his arms over his chest and said: "Garp won't like that she wants to be a pirate now too."
Luffy was already well away from land when she looked up into the sky and saw two seagulls. "Yes, this is a wonderful day to go to sea," she said happily. She was startled to see a shadow rising from the water behind her and turned around. A huge sea creature had risen from the water with razor-sharp teeth in its mouth and glowing red eyes. The villagers were frightened and were extremely worried about the straw hat wearing woman. She stood up and looked in the direction of the beast. Her hat covered her eyes as she said tensely: "Smelly fish, you're still here?!" She recognized him. It was the monster that almost ate her and bit off Shanks' arm 10 years ago. A smile crept onto her lips and said: "You've come to the wrong person!" She looked up. "I have a technique that I have trained for 10 years! And Gomu Gomu no..." She tensed her arm and let it stretch far back as she lunged. When the arm no longer stretched, the beast attacked, at the same time she struck and shouted: "...Pistol!" Her fist hit the beast in the face, her arm had stretched a little further, and pushed the monster out of the water. Her arm had pulled back again as the monster's body hit the water, sending it splashing far into the sky before falling like rain. "He learned his lesson," said Luffy and smiled contentedly. It felt incredibly good to punch the monster! After all, this had been due for 10 years, ever since the thing with Shanks' arm!
At the docks, the residents celebrated the victory of the young Portgas D. What no one noticed, however, was a small group of mountain bandits who looked out from behind a corner. "Wow, she beten the monster with just one hit!" said Dogura, impressed. Dadan said with a twinkle in his eyes. "She's become damn strong." Proud, you couldn't have described it any other way. Dadan was proud of their little girl, who had grown into a strong, brave and confident, if naive, young woman. Luffy looked out to the sea, loosened her arm a little and said, "First I have to find a crew. I want at least 10 people. And a...pirate flag. Let's go! I'm coming!" Again she enthusiastically punched the air with her clenched fists. "Soon I will be pirate king!" "Mom, dad, I'm leaving now. One day my name will be so well known that you can even hear it up there. Just watch me fulfill my dream! The world won't know what's coming for it."

And that's the end of the introductory part! I hope you liked it.
Next time the East Blue Arc finally begins, which I've been itching for a while. I just don't know how to divide the beginning yet?!
Well, you'll see that in the next chapter!
What do you think of the story so far? I would be really interested!
I look forward to seeing you again next time. Bye and have a nice day/evening.
