Sadie's POV
I woke to a man staring at me. Well it was kinda hard for him not to stare at me. He had eyes everywhere. I shivered. You'd think after everything I've seen, after defeating Apophis, I'd be used to this kinda stuff. But I had always been squeamish about eyes.

The googly eye man didn't say anything but turned around and a moment later left.

I tried to sit up but a stabbing pain in my head kept me down.

"Don't try to get up," an annoyed feminine voice spoke.

I rolled over and saw a teenage girl sitting beside me. Let me just say: there are three kinds of scary. There's the "oh I look like a demon cat but I'm actually a penguin." There's " oh I look like a penguin but I'm actually demon cat." And there's "oh I look like a demon cat and am a demon cat."

I'll give you one chance to guess which this girl was. Yep, you got it. She's the demon cat. She had scary black eyes that me want to crawl under my bed and hide. Her hair was purplish black and fell to her lower ribs. She had pale olive skin and high check bones.There was a tattoo on her collarbone that read something in another language that looked like French. But I had to give her credit for her clothes. Her outfit was on fleek.

"You took a nasty hit to head, and just my luck, I of all people was stuck with watching you. Usually Annabeth or Will would be in the infirmary helping the newbies, but Annie's in England and Will's on a date with my brother." She rolled her eyes sounding disgusted.
"I'll go get Chiron."

She got up and headed towards the door. She stopped her hand on the handle. "By the way, if you see me, don't talk to me." And with that happy thought, she left.

How rude! She could've at least offered me a cup of tea. Already i disliked this place. Creepy-eyed man? Cheeky girl? No thank you.

How'd I get here anyway? All at once, the events from the pyramid came back to me. I felt sick all over again. Not because I lost the statue. Not because I hit my head and got a concussion. But because I, the one and only, Sadie Kane, had stood there and almost let myself get barbecued by a flaming ball of fire. What was I thinking?! Oh yes, I remember: It was my time to die. How bloody stupid of me!

"Sadie!" Bast cried running to me. "Are you alright my kit? You took a nasty hit to the head!"

She took my hand and began to clean me.

"Bast!" I yanked my hand away. "I'm honored and all but I took a shower last night."

Bast looked uneasy. "Sadie..." She began. "You've been out for three days."

"What?!" I cried. "What about the statue? And Carter?"

Bast shifted her weight. "I have the statue but... There was no sign of Carter...except this."

The temperature seemed to drop 50 degrees, as she held up a burnt, teared black bag. Carter's brunt, teared black bag.

I felt empty.

"This- this can't be true! He was right with-"

A feeling a dread settled into my stomach as i realized I had left him. It was my bloody fault he was gone. No not gone, just missing.

"Bast, we have to find him. We can call Wal- Anub- Walnubis! if we have to. Let's get out of this horrid place."

"Sadie," bast said. "We can not leave yet. When you are feeling better I will introduce you to a friend of mine. He will help us find Carter. And...there are other serious matters that need to be taken into hand."

Her tone made me uneasy. "Friend...wait! There was a guy on a horse with you when you rescued me. Who is he?"

"All in good time Sadie. Now rest." She left the room with a soft meow.

So many thoughts swam around in my head as I drifted off to sleep. I dreamt of two girls watching me.

SO SO SO sorry for the wait. Everybody probably forgot about this story but here it is. In case you're confused, I changed the part about Carter and the locker. He was never locked in just disappeared in the explosion.

Lol I just fell out of a chair...not that y'all care but whatever. I'm really excited about where this story is headed. It gets better I promise just hang in there. New chappie soon.
