Chapter 4

Scarlet's POV

After a while, Chara announce that it's time for bed.

"What are we?" Max asks her. "Five years old kids?"

Chara glares at him before saying. "No. But you guys did walk from your village non-stop so... bedtime."

Everyone agrees. Max hesitates but does the same. We went to our rooms and slowly drift off to the land of dreams.

I smell smoke.

I can feel heat.

Even before I can see it, the flames surrounding the mansion. I'm standing outside, looking around as if I'm searching for something.

Or someone.

The fire begins to spread towards Chara's house, threats to engulf the building. I ran into the fire, stumbling into a clearing. My red hair is slightly crispy, my clothes is smothering. My vision blurs.

There's someone in the clearing.

Laughing.

"Burn them all! Burn every last one!"

I open my mouth but no sound came out. But my eyes gets more blurrier.

I suddenly charge at the figure, seeing-

Chara.

"Ch-chara?" I question, throat raspy, eyes full of tears. "Wh-what happened?"

She's silent for a moment before replying. "I think you were having a dream. Or perhaps, a nightmare."

"It's n-not a nightmare! It feels so real!"

"Can you remember it? Describe it for me, please."

"Um..." I start, Chara staring at me and Carlos is in the room. "Wait, when did Carlos come in?"

"My room is next door." He says, yawning. "I heard you screaming about something so I told Chara about this."

"And my shouting didn't wake anyone else up?"

"No. Well, I mean, it's been a rough few days getting here with no sleep. So everyone is in a deep sleep."

"Oh... okay." I blink. "Well, my dream is about fire is surrounding the mansion..."
