Chapter 3

Carlos' POV

We arrived to a mansion in the middle of nowhere, there is someone on the porch reading a book. She looks up, revealing her face. She has light green eyes, ebony short hair, wearing a light grey t-shirt, jeans and sandals.

"I see you got the note." She speaks.

"Uh..." RM says. "My name is-"

"RM, and you're Carlos."

"H-how did you know?" I question the girl. "I'm the one who send you the notes and my name is Chara."

"Chara?" RM asks, staring at her. "I know y-"

"Please," Chara interupts. "I don't think I've meet you until now."

RM glares at her angrily before looking away.

"So, Chara. How many people are coming?"

"Carlos, I sent out five invitations. You two are here, three more are arriving soon." She reply. "Oh look, there's the others."

The two girls tripped into the clearing, scaring RM.

"Who are you guys?!" RM shouts, running to hide behind me.

The red haired girl answers first. "My name is Scarlet and this is my friend, Hilary."

"Hi." Hilary says, waving. "Nice to meet you two." I respond, crossing my arms.

"Chara?" RM asks. "Where's the last one?"

"He should be here by now." Chara reply. "He should have-"

"Agh!" A voice call out from the forest. A boy about my age limps out of it. "Agh... It hurts so much..."

"Hey!" I acknowledge him, moving over to help him. His black hair is hiding his face. "What's your name?"

A long pause.

He looks up and start backing away from me. "You! S-stay away from me!"

"Are you okay Max?" Chara ask him.

"J-just stay away!"

I can only watch this in shock. Chara steps closer as 'Max' tries to inch away. Fear painted his face. He cried out. "Don't come any closer! Please!"

Chara is the first one to speak. "Max, you're safe here. Can you hear me? It's safe."

Max snaps out of it. "H-huh? Wh-who are you guys?"

"I'm Chara. This is Carlos, Scarlet, RM, and Hilary." She says, pointing to each one. "Guys, this is Max."
