Blur

As I stumbled across the hospital hallway
To see my son who seemed so far away
My brain couldn't blur what had happened
The car, inches away from our faces
Then a crash, then nothing at all.
I counted the people stopping to look at us sprawled out on the pavement
Blood becoming nothing but a fluid that drowned us
There was one person, then two, then four, then three, then... one
That one person stood above us
Her blue eyes burning into our flesh
She reached down and took my ring. Then she ran off.
What a disrespectful thing to do.
I hated my eyes seeing such.
My son, I... we both were taken to the hospital.
I counted how many beeps I heard from myself, who lay next to a bare and fragile body of another
There was two, then one, then two, then four, then two, then one, then...none...

My eyes were delaying and free
My eyes I couldn't see
The rolled back inside my head
I was clearly and surely dead.
Now my spirit lay on my crown
Floating and singing and flying around
I saw myself, hair stuck to my face and blood drenched in my only fears
That only twenty five would be my years...
So then I stumbled across the hospital hallway
To see my son who seemed so far away
My brain couldn't blur what had happened...
Blur.
