The Dark Zodiac

A long time ago, there was a war between demons and basically every single race else. The demons called their side, their Kingdom The Empire; the rest, The Alliance. The war was bloody and thousands lost their life. The bloodshed rages on until one day, the 12 most powerful Heroes, The Zodiac, sealed The Demon Kingdom and all its inhabitants away. Knowing that the seal won't last forever and they won't live forever, they use the last of their magic to bless 12 children, each with an Unique Skill, turning those children into Heroes. Whenever a Hero dies, another one with the same Skill will be born, being identified by a birth mark in the shape of the zodiac symbol belonging to The Original Owner of that Skill. So, like that, when the demons return, they will be sealed off again.

And now, introducing The Original Zodiac:

* Capricorn:
- Race: Half Human, Half Demon
- Unique Skill: Anti-Magic: With this Skill, the user can negate, reverse and reflect any kind of magic whether it is offensive, defensive, sealing,... (Original on zenquiz: Anti-Magic)
- Calm, wise and intelligent, he was the leader of The Zodiac as well as the most powerful Mage of his time. His mother was the daughter of the Demon Lord Dantalion, who, upon disagreeing with her family and falling in love with a human knight, became a spy for The Alliance. However, his mother was later killed by her own father.

* Aquarius:
- Race: Faery (of The Seelie Court)
- Unique Skill: All Seeing Eye: Whenever this Skill is activated, the user can see any event that they wished to see, whether it be in the past, present or future. (Original on zenquiz: Clairvoyant; the Skill has been buffed)
- Dreamy, poetic, mysterious and strange, she was the strategist of The Zodiac. Always saying vague and confusing things. She was, however, the Seelie Princess.

* Pisces:
- Race: Siren
- Unique Skill: Silent Words: A Skill used to communicate at long distance without making any sound. It can also be used to read minds as well as to break them. Any mental shields are rendered useless when facing this Skill. (Original on zenquiz: Telepathy; the Skill has been buffed)
- A singer who only wanted world peace. This cute and lovely girl joined The Zodiac to spread love and happiness as well as to stop the forces of Evil.

* Aries:
- Race: Half Undead (Vampire) , Half Beast (Ram)
- Unique Skill: Inferno: A fire that can burn anything and everything or burn nothing at all. It only depends on the user. (Original on zenquiz: Pyrokinesis; the Skill has been buffed a lot)
- Son of an undead vampire and the leader of one of the Beast tribes. Nice but a bit stubborn, this Berserker would do anything for his friends and family.

* Taurus:
- Race: Minotaur
- Unique Skill: Recreator: With this Skill, the user can create any non-living object from anything, even from thin air. (Original on zenquiz: Alchemy; the Skill has been buffed)
- A famous alchemist. Extremely patient with alchemy, extremely hot-headed with basically everything else. Had created the Philosopher's Stone but destroyed it later to stop himself and anyone else from abusing its power.

* Gemini:
- Race: Half Elf, Half Gnome
- Unique Skill: Illusion Master: The user can create the most realistic illusions with the help of this Skill. The illusions are so realistic that its attacks can make the foes brain inflict damage on themselves. ( Original on zenquiz: Illusion Casting; the Skill has been buffed)
- A well-known trickster. Abused his Skill a lot to prank people. Even though people might get angry, he was the bringer of joy to The Zodiac.

* Cancer:
- Race: Angel
- Unique Skill: Blessing of God: This Skill is used to cure and heal any sickness or injury, no matter how severe. It works great on everything, including non-sentient beings. (Original on zenquiz: Healer; the Skill has been buffed)
- Descendant of Raziel. A joyful nurse who was always looking out for others. Before becoming the medic of The Zodiac, she traveled around the world, helping people.

* Leo:
- Race: Beast (Lion)
- Unique Skill: Space Bender: The user can use this Skill to teleport, create portals and pocket dimensions. (Original on zenquiz: Teleport; the Skill has been buffed)
- The best swordsman of the entire tribe. Valiant, brave with a high sense of justice but arrogant and prideful. He sometimes (usually) charges head-first into battle, more times than not, becoming the meat-shield of The Zodiac (not that he knew...). He was still a really strong meat-shield though.

* Virgo:
- Race: Undead (Lich)
- Unique Skill: The Graveyard Bride: With this Skill, the user can revive the dead. However, it does not require complex rituals, contracts with demons or sacrifices like normal necromancers. This Skill can also overpower normal necromancy. (Original on zenquiz: Necromancy; the Skill has been buffed)
- A necromancer and Capricorn's closest (only) friend. This beautiful Lich had quite a lot of admirers but, to get to her, the admirers would have to get pass her overprotective "brother", Capricorn. Only ever saw Capricorn as an older brother and was only seen as a little sister by Capricorn.

* Libra:
- Race: Human
- Unique Skill: Clockworks: This Skill can stop time, skip time, make time go slower or faster but never in reverse. This is the only form of controlling time. There's no other spell, skill, ritual or machine that can recreate Its effects. (Original on zenquiz: Time Freeze)
- Before joining The Zodiac, she was the librarian of the University School in the Academy City. Reserved, smart and creative, she holds the record (still does even when she's dead) of the highest scores in the history of the Academy City.

* Scorpio:
- Race: Elf
- Unique Skill: Puppet Master: With this Skill, the user can control any living beings. There's no require for eye-contact between the Master and the Puppets. Unlike normal mind control, the user can use this Skill to control various beings at the same time. No mental shields can save you from this Skill. (Original on zenquiz: Possession; the Skill has been buffed)
- A gorgeous albino Elf. She had the second most admirers of The Zodiac, only behind Virgo. Vicious and sadistic, elegant and graceful. She's like a rose: Beautiful yet deadly.

* Sagittarius:
- Race: ???
- Unique Skill: Masquerade: With this Skill, the user's appearance and anatomy can be changed as will. For example, when turning into a fire-breathing dragon, a normal shapeshifter can turn into a dragon but said shapeshifter cannot breathe fire whereas the user of the Skill can. (Original on zenquiz: Shapeshifting; the Skill has been buffed)
- A lovable and athletic guy. No one knows how he originally looked or what race he originally was. He too had forgotten but he doesn't care. Pisces could find out about it but she refused to use her Skill on another member of The Zodiac without Their permission. Sagittarius also liked to eat hair for some reason... No one knows what that's about...

Additional information about this world:

- The twin siblings of a chosen Hero may also receive the Skill but it will be easily overpowered by the Skill used by a Hero.

- The Unseelie Court of Faes and the Undead were neutral but the majority helped The Empire more than The Alliance.

- There's a bit (a lot) of prejudice against undeads, Unseelie Faeries, and the demons as well as half-bloods with said blood about 500 years after The War. The members of The Zodiac with said blood are still worshiped as if they were gods though.

- At present, 1000 years after The War, all Dark Arts have been deemed illegal except for the Skills which are Dark Arts (Graveyard Bride, Puppet Master and Inferno). People still use them in the shady districts anyway.

- As any other Fantasy World, in this world there are Guilds, Dungeons and monsters that aren't classified into the races.

- There's only one God known as The Creator. He lives in his Temple in the Angel Citadel and his name is Retsukuza.

- The races are Human, Elf, Undead, Beast, Demon, Naga, Minotaur, Siren, Centaur, Gnome, Angel and Fae. Naga, Minotaur, Siren and Centaur used to be considered Beast but they protested and rioted until they were considered as other races 20 years before The War.

- The currencies of this world are Melliodrachma, Acroyen and Hakucent. A melliodrachma equals 100 acroyen and an acroyen equals 50 hakucents.
