Nia:

I sit on my bed crying like a baby for at least 10 minutes before I snap out of it.

"Barbie? What the hell am I doing?"

"Nia, our mate is not like others out there, you know this."

I scoff, "what I meant is, why am I shedding tears over some guy again huh?"

"Please, nia, let the past be the past..."

I cut her off, "oh I'm going to figure this out. I'm going to get intel. Im going to protect our family."

She whimpers in my mind.

I dont care. First things first, remind him how much he's missing by tossing me aside.

I quickly get up, shower, throw my hair into bun at the back of my head, allowing a few curls to stray.

I put on my business, knee length skirt, one of tighter ones. The black one that shows off all my curves. I throw on my pretty, button down burgundy blouse, tucked in at the waist. I grab my three inch black pumps and my black blazer.

I make sure my lips match my blouse while making sure my face is done up, making me look older, more mature. I smile at myself in the mirror, there, now I look like an actual business owner. A sexy business owner.

Let's see him resist all this. I chuckle to myself realizing that our mate bond was going to make this hard for him and I'm going to show him how hard it hurts when he doesn't get what he wants.

"Nia, you should just talk to Jax..." She pleads with me, "...He's our mate, don't keep secrets from him."

I scoff, "You mean like how he's keeping secrets? Hum?" she goes silent. Yeah thats what I thought. I roll my eyes and shake my head.

A slight ache in my heart appears out of no where.

Jax.

I think to myself. I wonder why he's sad? I wonder why I can randomly feel his emotions, and other times I can't? I groan as my head feels it might explode from all the emotions I've had running through me the last few days.

I take a deep breath and reach for the shiny silver chain on my dresser. It was my dad's platinium chain, his family stone and emblimem hung from it. Supposedly it brought good luck in battle, and it was all Ron from the moonstone pack brought home. He said they found it near the battle field. I sigh again as I put on my in saphirre earrings to finish the look.

I grab my work bag with all my work supplies and head out the door. I look down at the fancy watch I put on for today and noticed I still have 30 minutes before we need to leave.

I sigh and head towards the main office of the pack house. The moment I push open the door, I regretted it. I was rushed with people, everyone had questoins about my new powers, my mate bond, and of course Liam.

I did my best to move past person after person until I made it to my brother Nuru. "Hey brother. Can you update me please?" I stand striaghter as I look at the giant board behind us.

"Listen, Nia, I know Nigel showed you everything..." I bring my hands up to stop him.

"Please Nuru, just give me the update ok?" He looks like he's about to say something but nods his head instead.

He goes into detail about what they've got from Liam. Seems like after his hospital stay he tried to run. He heard his little wizard clan was being hunted. During his escape he found his mate, who he refuses to tell us who it is, and found it hard to leave the area.

He finally found a run down building not far from here where he could be close enough to his mate, but not so close that he was constantly in pain. It also kept him under the radar.

Then this Moon Fae approached him, said something about Liam owing him since he never finished collecting the Magic essence from me.

He put a curse on him but he had a protection spell on him. It kept the curse from taking over completely. This curse seemed to control him, his actions, his thoughts. Although he doesn't remember much from being cursed, he knows a lot about this man because he was the one controlling him. He said his name is Neil.

I nodded my head up and down, thinking, "Ok, so what have you shared with the moonstone pack?"

He sighed, "Not much. Liam will only talk to me, you, or Mother."

"Ok..." I sigh, pulling my bag over my shoulder again, "Let's keep it that way ok? I'm going to figure out what that pack is up to..." I turn and walk out the door, muttering under my breath, "One way or another."

Jax:

After a cold shower and new clothes I actually felt much better.

I still feel like a horny teenager who can't control his own urges. So embarrassing.

I could feel Nia was very upset, something was bothering her. I kept my distance, she seemed upset when she left and I couldn't figure out why.

"Fuckin mate bond. Driving me crazy..." I say to Thor.

"Well, you still havent marked her, so..." Thor responds in his typical asshole way.

"What's that supposed to mean Thor?" I snap back.

"Until you mark her, you won't be able to really connect with her. You'll be left like this. A confused idiot."

I growl. "Thanks for your help!" I snap back.

"You're supposed to be so good at this. Why haven't you got our own mate in bed yet?! This should be so easy!" Thor roars.

"Thor..." I give him a warning growl making him retreat, for now.

I watch Meghan zoom around the car making sure we all have what we need. We're waiting on Riley and Nia at this point. I sigh glancing down at my watch, ok 3 more minutes.

"What's up bro? Stressed?" Caleb looks over at me with a sly smile. I knew what he wanted, to hurt someone.

Caleb enjoyed taking out his rage in a few ways, through music, through hitman jobs, training and women. On occasion, Men. Although we don't talk much about that.

I chuckle, "No Caleb. I don't need you to kill anyone ok?" Caleb crosses his arms over his chest like he's actually offened.

"Excuse me, but I think I can be concerned for my brother, future Alpha of my pack..." He barely gets the last word out before he chuckles.

"No, but bro, seriously, I thought finding your mate would make you a bit more..." He pauses, thinking for the right word, "...relaxed, easy going."

I shrug my shoulders, "I don't know Caleb, it's not that simple. Nia's pack is so different, I never know what's going on in her head becuase she won't let me in, and I think I upset her earlier and I don't know what I could have done." I let out a sigh, "it's just not as easy as I thought it would be."

Caleb nodded in response, "Nia seems really powerful, super strong. I bet she will make a great Luna." He half smiled. Caleb, a geniune smile? How long has it been since I've seen that. I smirked.

"You like it here, don't you Caleb." He snapped his head to me and furrowed his brows.

Trying to figure out what I mean. I chuckle, "Listen, I get it Caleb. I know there's more Fae here. They do things differently, training, eating. I could see why a pack like this might appeal to you." Caleb wasn't always so strong, or powerful. He always had to work twice as hard to keep up, but a place like this would probably teach him how to be even better.

Caleb looks away, retreating back into his mind, regaining his signature pout that makes all the ladies squeal in delight.

Riley finally shows his face. He's got a giant bag full of fruits and vegetables with a giant grin on his face. "Guys! Look what they gave us for the ride!" He holds open the bag full of fresh fruits and berries, cherry tomatoes, some carrots and corn. "Seriously, this stuff is delcious..." he says as he shoves more and more food into his mouth. "Jax, think you can convince dad to have the females make us a garden?"

Caleb chuckled and I rolled my eyes before speaking up, "Seriously Rhy? Why don't you just talk to Nia. I'm sure you could come by anytime and they would give you fruit and vegetables." Riley furrowed his brows.

"I don't know man. I could eat this entire bag myself. I would need like boxes of this stuff." His eyes go wide when he sees some more blueberries his missed at the bottom of the bag. "Yes!" He mutters to himself.

I feel the slight tingle down my back that I always feel when she's close. Nia...

I stand up striaghter watching the pack house door as she walks out.

My eyes go wide.

Holy shit, what the fuck is she wearing? Why does she look so god damn sexy right now?

I narrow my eyes on her. Her skirt is knee legth, but tight against her perfect curves. Her blouse is just low enough in the front to give you a glimpse of the beauty hidden underneath.

My beauty. For me, only.

"Mmmm our mate looks like she wants to get marked..." Thor purrs in my mind.

I growl in response.

"Just don't fuck it up." Thor growls in my mind.

She smiles big when Meghan stops in front of her. Meghan tells her to do a little turn and Nia sticks out her booty just a bit while Meghan gives it a little smack and then she kisses her cheek.

I growl as I glare at them. Ready to stomp over there and drag her upstairs to change into something else, when Meghan pops up in front of me. I almost growl but somehow I manage to stay in control.

"Alpha Jaxson, we will need to do a fan meet and greet after the shoot. Kyle says it's a must to show your smiling happy faces even in the midst of what's going on." She spits out quickly.

I nodded annoyingly at her so she will move out of my way when I see Nia has moved on to talking to my brother's about this campignn we're shooting for.

I march up and grab the ipad put of her hand. How dare she think she can show off what's mine.

"Jaxson!" She yells at me. That's cute, sweetheart. I smirk. Which only makes her more upset.

"You need to go change. You can meet us at the photo shoot." I watch her eyebrows shoot up.

"Excuse me?!" She barks out at me.

"Oh feisty..." Ryan wiggles his eyebrows at me chuckling.

"Jaxson, you will not tell me what I can and can't wear for work!" Her voices gets louder as she holds her hand out for her precious Ipad back.

I growl in response as Caleb steps up, "Dude, we gotta go ok? I think what she's wearing looks fine." He gave me a half smile. I growl louder. Soon my growls will turn into roars if I don't get back in control.

"AGH!" She stomps her foot at me, "You're ridiculous Jaxson!..." she balls her fist at her side, her glow beginning to start.

I can hear a quiet hum as her glow slowly fades, "Get over yourself, Just don't break my Ipad, I need it for work." She brushes by me and gets in the back seat next to Riley.

"Nia! If you don't get out of this car..." What the hell is wrong with this woman?! I'm her mate and eventually I'll be her alpha. She will eventually obey me right? That's how this mate bond stuff is supposed to work... right?

Caleb quickly hops in next to her slamming the door. Raising an eyebrow at me, daring me to challenge him. I watch as nia's tiny body is squeezed between my two idiot brothers. She's pouting and has her arms crossed in front of her. She was really really angry. Fuck. I made things so much worse.

"Smooth, real smooth..." Thor growls at me.
