I just had to run. I needed to get as far away as possible. I knew if she knew the truth, she would reject him. I knew she would do what was good for the pack, but 'rejection comes with a big price' Nuru said.

I couldn't take it anymore.

I wanted to tell her everything. I wanted to tell her the truth about the moonstone pack and what they're really up to, but nuru wouldn't allow it, not without more evidence.

I'm sure more evidence would come with this interrogation, but having Nia lead was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. Every single person in this pack wanted to rip this man to shreds, Nia will pick up on that no matter how hard she tries to keep her cool. The only reason anyone in this pack didn't kill him on site is because we'd need Nia's permission to do so, or at least let her get the chance herself.

I wish I would have seen the bastard, because I would have killed him. I wouldn't have held back.

By the time I stop running, I realize I'm already outside our border. Fuck. I need to get it together.

"Beta, Luna Nia requests your assistance with the prisoner."

I hear through the mind link. I'm nearly full fae, but the Luna Hills pack used the ancient texts to grant anyone who gives their blood for the pack mind linking capabilities while near pack land. Depending on how powerful you are, depends on the strength of the mind-link. It's why any creature of our pack is connected. As far as I know, we're the only pack that knows how to do this.

"On my way, Please adjust the guards for me. We need a few more on the north east side."

I don't wait for an answer as I run back towards the pack house. Racing past the wolves shifting and the Wizards placing protection spells over them. I nod at them quickly, gathering my strength as I walked around the house towards the front to meet with Nia and Most likely, Alpha jax.

I groaned.

The moonstone pack is hiding something. Ghost found footage of Riley, Caleb, and other Moonstone pack warriors, travelling near where some of the missing Rouges were taken from other packs. It wasn't easy to find. The photos aren't great and the eye witness accounts aren't always trust worthy, but somehow the moonstone pack is involved, I know it. I know Nuru wants to wait to talk to Nia, but I think she deserves to know the truth.

I round the corner and see Nia, Luna Cara, and Alpha Jax standing outside. Caleb and Riley were getting out of their car parked nearby and Kyle was standing next to Jax, leaning against one of the pillars.

I walk up to Nia, "You ready?" She glares at me, I know she's upset, but I don't care. As soon as I get the chance, I'll let her know what the moonstone pack is really about, then she will reject Jax.

"Yes..." She stands up a little straighter, walking past me, "Please inform the council and make sure the live feed is up and running."

I turn back around and catch up with her, earning a growl from Jax. Fuck this guy. I glare at him as I see him flash his canines. "Oh please little puppy, simmer down." I roll my eyes as I see Jax ball his fists at his side. This guy is such an idiot, he can't even control himself.

"With all due respect LUNA, Shouldn't you have one of the tech guys announce this? I'm meant to escort you down below." She stops on her tracks.

"Excuse me BETA, but Alpha NURU was supposed to escort me. My mother will do it." She quickly turns around continues walking. The smug look on Jax's face makes me want to punch it off.

Luna Cara walks by me with a sad look on her face, as she continues past me. I'm about to protest but she shakes her head no.

Defeated, and ready to punch something, I follow through with my "ORDERS" and quickly get back to the viewing room. I see all the Alphas and Betas, as well as some other officials squeezing into this tiny viewing room. I see the one small opening next to Kyle as he waves me over. I roll my eyes as shuffle past everyone to stand next to him.

I keep my eyes glued on the room as our guards forcefully drag the prisoner and shackle him to the hooks on the wall. He's grinning the whole time as many of our pack growl and groan seeing him.

"This guy isn't very popular is he?" I hear Jax whisper to Kyle.

"If you knew anything about Nia, You'd know why." I snap back. Jax growls at me as Kyle places a hand on his shoulder and glares at me.

"Stop you two!" Luna Cara whispers in a firm but hushed voice as she stands in between Kyle and I, putting even more distance between us. She glares at me, then she takes her hands on either side of my face, forcing my face to her's.

"You stand down with Jax. We don't know what the moonstone pack is up to, but as you saw earlier he went against his father's orders..." she said through the mind-link.

I groaned before she released my face and we returned to the window in front of us.

Caleb sighs, and turns to Riley, both standing on the other side of Jax, "I really don't understand why we can't interrogate this prisoner. Everyone here knows we're the best at it."

I roll my eyes, answering before Riley has a chance to, "Everyone here knows you guys would kill him before we got any real information." I snapped back and smirked. I heard a snicker behind me. Winning.

Caleb rolls his eyes, "Like this filth really has anything important to say anyway." He scoffs.

Riley chuckles, "We're only doing it this way because Jax is now mated to that hot piece of ass that's about to walk in..." Jax growls and Luna Cara sighs again. I just roll my eyes, this guy is such an ass, "...Personally, I think we should all just get excited for the show. A hot woman beating up on some big bad wizard..." He shifts on his feet, "...mmmm Scrumptious..."

Kyle groans as Jax punches Riley in the side. I snicker. As Luna Cara speaks up again, "If you boys can't handle standing here like adults, I will ask you, Kindly...leave." She looks us in the eyes, one at a time, as we all stand a little taller. She isn't one to back down, and she's not easy to ignore.

My mind races as the guards finish locking him in place, and attaching all sorts of cords to him. Must be from the RSRC, some sort of monitoring devices. Once the guards were satisfied they nodded at each other as one moved to the door on the other side of the room.

You can feel everyone holding their breath. "Please moon goddess, give Nia the strength to stay strong..." I feel my eyes glow for a moment as I repeat the mantra in my mind. I notice a few other eyes glow in the crowd, including Luna Cara. We were all here rooting for our future Luna. We wanted her to do whatever she needed to do, to fully heal from what this asshole did to her. We all wanted her to have the strength, the patience, and the skill needed fight those demons she still had crawling inside her.

I felt Luna Cara reach for my arm. Her eyes glued to the window in front of me. I could tell she was shaking. I wrapped her arm in mine, and patted her small hand. She wasn't as strong as she used be, but she was the only mother figure I ever had. I hummed under my breath as I saw her eyes flutter. She was feeling the calm I was pushing her way. I knew she needed it.
