David thinks he needs to breathe after to smoke a cigarette, he is sitting in Central Park, reading the newspaper another more time. Well, not exactly, his mind is busy about to find a solution. Someone stops his thoughts:

—David?

—Yes, I am. I don't remember you.

—My name is Doug and she is my wife Angie. We will never forget you. We live happies in the house you sold us.

—It are two pleasures, meeting you and knowing it.

She says:

—What do you make here? You should be working.

—The agency passed away.

He does not want reveal his situation, but he must do it. Doug offers:

—Maybe we can help you, would you like to be a waiter?

—Less is nothing. Thank you.

—It is not for today. I am going to open a new café in about a week. It will be placed at your old agency.

This meeting is not casual. The couple saw him everyday wandering for the same places.

David receives a lesson of humility, for him they were two customers more. His pride suffers, but he must accept it.

He starts as a waiter with illusion, proud of coming back to bring money at home. But the job is boring, always the same people, telling their same stories. Also he has to wake up earlier than then.

He usually is liked for the people when he is satisfied, but here it is not the case. He begins to drink and this is the drop that fills the glass of the patience of Doug. David only works here during a month.

If New York is a big apple, it contains many apples, each one has its own style of life. David hates Manhattan and he wants to go out too far, but travelling is expensive. They just need to change their house for another in Bronx to disappear. They made a good business: a house for the half price than previous. Also they sell some furniture. It is such like to start a new life isolated of Manhattan. They quit every old account. They create a new account without cellular phone, only their parents know it.

The difficulty to find job is the same, only with contracts of days or weeks. Bread for today and hunger for tomorrow.

It is too hard to change a good life for another worse. The love to his family is a big help, but it is not enough. He cures his depression with alcohol.

Christmas eve. David has returned to his birth home, in Corbin, Kentucky. The joy is in the air, all what they need. Rose and David are the perfect hosts. Rick enjoys with his grandfathers, he is the only grandson. David Senior just paid the travel to go. David Junior feels himself with another more debt, though his father told this is another gift for Christmas.

Christmas morning. Rick wakes up the first, he see the tree rounded by gifts and reads the notes. The majority is for him. There are gifts to everybody, including a cellular for their son, daughter in law and grandson. Also to Rick the whole equipment, with T-shirt, short, socks and boots, of the soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, his sporty idol.

First morning of 2011, David runs with his son, though both seems brothers, the father seems younger due to the exercise and the son seems older due to the crises.

Out of the blue, they hear a voice calling them and they turn the head without stopping. The son expresses with joy:

—Roger. What a surprise!

They stop, it is not a good idea running and talking.

—Dad, do you remember Roger? He was my boss.

—Off course. Come on home to take something.

—Thank you sir, also to God I can find you. I thought that it was impossible.

—You always chase your prey until the end. I'm glad to meet you.

—I most.

Roger is a born leader, he was the manager of the agency and he worked hard to  avoid the crack. After he established a new business very different, a franchise of a well known holding of clothes stores. He thought in David as the manager, but he couldn't find him. It was as if the Earth had eaten him. He tried by phone, internet and going to his house. Nothing at all.

Roger continues:

—I met a hacker last week. He searched in your old numbers, found your old schedule, by its this address and he discovered your new account and address.

—Roger, please, forgive me. I wanted to disappear, to don’t know anything from my past. I imagine you must pay him.

—Do not worry, let’s forget the past. Now we are going to start a new life.

—Thank you very much.

David remembers two verses of his favorite disc:

—David, do you want to be my manager?

—Yes, I want.

Rose feels herself sad and happy. Sad because she wanted his son starts a new life nearer, that were the reason to pay a travel of one only ticket. Happy because David and Roger make a good team, she is sure his son will go ahead. Roger takes her away his son again.

It is noon, Rose invites Roger to the meal, he accepts and stays until the evening, making plans for the back travel. He owns a Mercedes, the trip lasts more than twelve hours, the departure will be at the next dawn.

Mary visits this home for first time, because his parents in law preferred to go to New York, so they could buy there. She usually has hunches, but none like this: it is her last visit. She do not understand it, but she is not worry.

When someone exits of a crises, he starts to breathe.
