Chapter 60: Blood

          Roman's POV

Alright, this shouldn't be so bad. I'm a prince, this is what princes do! They save damsels in distress! Now, which one first? Oh, how about him, the one on the left, he looks easy. What's his name? Tip? Tap? Tap. Definitely Tap.

I went in for a sneak attack, trying to dart forward as quickly as possible, my fist flying towards his-it's?-face. Luckily, I made contact, unluckily, it kinda hurt. They make this look way easier in the movies!

Thankfully, I managed to throw them off balance, allowing me a few seconds as I shook off the pain in my hand. Then, I darted back towards it.

I tried to tackle it to the ground, which would have worked if it hadn't moved slightly to the right, allowing it to grip my shoulders and shove me into the ground first.

He pinned me, a somewhat malicious look in his eyes as I looked up at him, his hands still pressed into my shoulders.

"Curses!" I exclaimed, trying to escape, but it had a good grip.

Without thinking, I kicked him where it hurts, causing him to groan and roll off of me. Now, where's that core? Do I have to rip his heart out? No, that would be a bit much, actually. I was thinking too much, allowing him to grab my ankles and drag me back down, my shoulder hitting the floor for the second time. I involuntarily cried out in pain.

As soon as I hit the ground for a second time, I felt weight press down on my body, pressing my face against the floor since I was fortunate enough to be lying face up. I felt hot breath against my neck, it was heavy, but at normal pace.

"Roman, Princey, did you really think that it was that easy? I'm not some Disney villain, it's gonna take a bit more to get rid of me." Tap's voice sent a shiver down my spine, it was creepier since he was directly next to my ear, and his voice was low and husky. A pit of dread grew in my stomach as my eyes desperately searched for something, anything, to help me.

Then I saw it, a pipe laying on the other side of the room, most likely from something that Logan had been working on. Finally, one of his useless projects had come in handy. But, how do I get over there? Tap is actually pretty strong, and he's really pressing down on my weaker shoulder.

I went limp, remembering from some movie that if the enemy thought you were weak or unconscious, they would let up, allowing me to escape. But I had to be quick, I would only have a small window of opportunity.

Tap fell for the bait, letting go of me in confusion. "Am I really that strong?" He asked himself, but I could still hear him. This was my chance.

I pushed upward with my injured shoulder, wincing from the pain as I heard Tap fall backwards onto the ground, now was my chance.

Diving for the pipe, I felt my hand grip around it, clutching it in my fist as I quickly pulled myself up from the ground as quickly as possible. I turned and saw that Tap was still on the ground. I smirked, this was it.

I sped towards him, lifting the pipe as if it was a sword and shutting my eyes as I brought it down with as much force as I could once it hovered over his core. There was slight resistance as the pipe went through the first layer of its skin, but got easier to push down the farther I got inside. I pulled it out and stabbed again, and again, until I was sure that I had crush whatever gave it life.

Opening my eyes, I was surprised to find tears falling out of them as I stared at the mashed body beneath me. My hands shook, but I was unable to fully realize my shock as another body crashed into me with a battle cry.

My pipe clanged against the ground as it flew from my grip, my vision blurred as I once again made contact with the ground, my old friend.

"You killed him!" Lon shouted, pounding his fists against my barely conscious body, the pain jolting me awake every time. "You. Killed. Him." His voice was sinister, yet full of grief and I thought that I could use that to my advantage.

      I was wrong.

"I'm sorry!" I shouted, begging him to stop. If I repeated the phrase enough, maybe he would stop, start crying and give me enough time to get the pipe again. "I'm sorry!" I repeated one more time, feeling him start to let up.

slam

My head smacked into the ground, Lon's hands surrounding my throat. I was unable to regain the breath that had been knocked out of my lungs. He tricked me! That sneaky little punk!

His fingers curled into my skin, I could already tell that he was going to leave some bruises, my vision began to blacken, he kept his grip steady. My head was not feeling any better due to the lack of oxygen, there was a pounding, flashing pain in my skull that would not go away, but at least it would be over soon.

My muscles began to weaken, my blinking began to slow, and I felt my head softly lower to the ground as I let myself give in to the sleep that was calling my name.

Until I heard a scream-a battle cry if you will- followed by a bang.

"Leave him alone!" I heard Patton yell behind me as Lon released my neck, allowing me to breathe as I stumbled to my feet, cross-eyed, yet determined as I saw Lon turn his attention to Patton.

Patton dropped whatever it was he had hit the thing with, his eyes wide and fearful as Lon lunged towards him, causing him to break into a full-on sprint while screaming with terror. Instinctively, I darted towards the object and swiped it in my hand, sneaking up behind Lon.

Patton was backed into a corner, Lon slowly walking towards him, cracking his knuckles menacingly. "Shouldn't have done that, Morality, you know you're the easiest trait to replace." That snake was trying to get into his head! I have to stop him before he hurts Patton!

Raising the object above my head, I smashed it down onto Lon's head, wincing as I heard it make contact with his skull, which for all I know could have just been metal.

Luckily, he fell to the ground, allowing Patton to run past him and out the door of the imagination room. Good, now we're all alone, I wouldn't want Patton to see what I'm about to do.

Lon turned over so that he was laying on his back, which meant he got a great view of me smashing my object- which I learned was another pipe- against his skull.

He let out a strangled cry, if that was what you would call it- an awful, almost metallic scream- and using the distraction, I stabbed the pipe into his chest.

This time, it took a bit longer to get through to his core, he was stronger than Tap, but with a bit of determination, I broke through.

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I thought to myself as I ignored the screams coming from beneath me as I continued to stab at Lon's body. I constantly told myself that it was just a tactic, he wasn't really in pain. He's just trying to guilt me, but it didn't work, guilt still sat in my stomach like a stone, and it twisted it into knots until he made me feel weak with sickness.

With one last, final stab in Lon's flesh, I heard the screams cut off abruptly below me, and I looked down to see an absolutely mutilated piece of technology. If he was a real person, it would be a very bloody murder scene, way more than just PG-13 level gore.

However, I was once again unable to let shock overcome me as I heard heavy footsteps behind me.

Still gripping the pipe, I spun around quickly, holding up my weapon like a baseball bat.

There was a laugh that escaped his mouth, a robotic, creepy laugh that continued as he got closer to me.

      Time for the boss battle.
