Chapter 22: Plan
Missy's POV
"We have a plan." Me and Pranks said in unison. "W..what is it?" He asked, a worried look on his face. "Well, we kinda wanna do something..." Pranks said with a smile. "Which is...?" Anxiety asked. "Makeover!!" We said in unison. "W-What...?" Anxiety was so confused. "I mean, you might wanna update your wardrobe a little eensy weensy tiny bit." I said, using hand motions to accompany my statement. "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked. "Well, if Roman finds you attractive, he'll be more...you know, flirty, and Thomas has a crush on someone. We were thinking, if he's more confident, he'll try to flirt with said crush. And, we just want to give you a makeover." Pranks explained. Anxiety's face was immediately covered in a bright red. "...fine. Whatever. Just nothing I wouldn't usually wear." He said. "Okay!"
oNE MAKEOVER LATER~
"Perfect!" I said, finishing up the makeover. "Alright! You can look now!"
{i found this outfit, and ahhhhhhhhh i thought it would be perfect. just the shirt and jeans and shoes and jacket but...yeah. also i thought about giving him a choker but...actually i might. maybe. should i?}
"I...I love it..." He muttered. "How did you...?" "Makeup tutorials. Lots and lots of makeup tutorials at three in the morning." I said. "Oh, so I'm not the only one." He mumbled. With a chuckle from me and Pranks, Anxiety walked right out the door, hopefully a little more confident with himself. "We've outdone ourselves." I said, leaning back in my chair. "Yes, we have." Pranks replied. "I'm gonna get some chips." "No! We can't now! We just sent him out there! We have to wait a little bit!" I argued. "God dangit...."
Anxiety's POV
I walked out into the living room and plopped myself down on the couch. I put on a movie, threw on a blanket, and waited for something. I almost fell asleep, and I would've if Roman hadn't disturbed me. "Is my princess tired?" He asked. "'m not a princess." I grumbled. {nobody uses grumbled. use that word more often.} "Uh-huh, sure." He said, before laying down next to me. He yanked the blanket off of me, leaving me in the cold. "I thought you loved me." I said dramatically. "I do still love you!" He pleaded. "I still love you! But I'll freeze in this weather!" I cried. He threw his arms around me in a warm hug. "Better, love?" He asked. "Yeah..." I said, burying myself in his embrace.
He reached over to a table lamp and flicked on the light. "You could've warned me!" I cried. "Oh, my dear emo nightmare, I could've but.." He stopped. "What? Finally noticed my different appearance?" I said. "Yes, I did. I think you look very beautiful." He said in a flirty tone. I felt my cheeks heat up. "I...I, uh...um..." I was immediately regretting the plan I made with Missy and Pranks.
He pulled me into a soft kiss. He was cautious, and he moved in perfect sync with me. The once soft and gentle kiss was now more of a passionate and frenzied one, and we hadn't even realized it. He positioned himself to loom over me like a tower. I broke apart the kiss, gasping for air. "...god, how on earth did I get so lucky?" He muttered under his breath. "I don't know, but I think I'm the lucky one..." I said, still regulating my breathing. All of a sudden, Thomas summoned us, and he looked kinda panicked.
"Heyyyyy guys!" He said, a worried smile on his face. "Greetings, Thomas!" Roman exclaimed. "Hi. What do you need?" I asked. "hhhhhhhhhhhh-I need help." He said. "What is it?" I asked. "My crush is coming over tomorrow! I just now remembered!" Thomas seemed kinda panicked, which of course affected me, or I affected him...either way. I felt myself getting more and more worried, thoughts of what could go wrong were rushing through my mind. "I don't understand what there is to worry about, Thomas. You're good friends with him, you shouldn't be worried." Logan chimed in. "Yeah, kiddo! You're best friends with them! You don't have to worry about anything!" Patton exclaimed. "There's a lot to worry about, actually. What if-" I was cut off by a certain Prince.
"Now, don't you go worrying. I know you're Anxiety, but this'll go fine, I promise." His voice was calm and soothing. "But...but think about it, Roman! What if he hates us? What if he doesn't want to be friends with us anymore? What if he's got a girlfriend? Or that he doesn't like us back? Or-" "Hey, it's gonna go okay, we don't have to tell him if you don't want to." Roman cut me off once more. "If that's the case, we'll never tell him." Logan muttered. "I heard that." I growled. "Hey, kiddos, no need to fight!" Patton basically begged. "Fine, you're lucky I don't feel like arguing." I said.
Thomas' phone made a ding sound and he immediately whipped it out of his pocket. "What is it?" Patton asked. "It's him. He said he can't wait to see me." He said with a smile. "Awww!" Patton squealed. "Well, tell him the same!" Roman exclaimed. "We don't wanna come off as too desperate, Roman. Go for something like, 'I know! I can't wait either.'" I suggested. "Well, then it seems like we don't care that much." Roman shot back. "Please don't argue." Patton begged. "Well, I'm just saying what's on my mind. I care about Thomas a lot, and I don't want anything bad to happen to him." I said. "I know you do, but sometimes we have to take risks in order to be happy!" Roman raised his voice. "That's enough out of you two! Anxiety, calm down. Roman, calm down. You two take a breather, okay?" Logan said.
I slumped back into my corner, trying to calm myself down. Easy breathing, Anx. Roman didn't mean to scare you, he still loves you. I'm sure he does. I pushed my thoughts to the back of my head before focusing back on the situation. "Okay, what you need to do is dress nicely. Nothing too fancy, nothing too drab." Logan said. "Yeah, and what you wanna do, kiddo, is ask him what he wants to do! He is coming over and visiting you." Patton said. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks, guys. I'll think about this, and if I do need you, I'll ask." Thomas said.
We all sunk down, re-entering the mindscape. "Hey, Logan, come here for a second." I asked. I led him over to a more private area, where I was positive nobody could hear us. "Yes?" He asked. "How do you do it?" I asked. "What? Do what?" He was so confused. "How do you make it work? Your relationship with Patton. You two never seem to fight, but lately it seems like that's all me and Roman have been doing..." I muttered. "Hey, I know it seems hard, but all you have to do is listen to each other. I'm not the best at giving advice, but I will tell you this: If you try to hide your problems, it'll bottle up, and you'll most likely lash out on someone." Logan explained. "Try talking to him, it might do more than you think." He said, before walking off. I let everything sink in, trying to process what he said. He...he still loves me...right?
