011.

THE NEXT MORNING, at the break of dawn, Lana was awoken by Dreykov's soldiers. They shoved a leotard, point shoes and tights into her hands and made her change. They obviously didn't turn around and Lana shook her head. It was just as she remembered. When she was done, they escorted her out of the room.

Their shoes squeaked on the floor and Lana's point shoes clicked lightly. It gave her a semblance of comfort, the familiar sound.

She was the first person there besides a woman sitting on top of the piano with a cigarette hanging loosely between her cherry lips. Lana remembered her face as clear as day, even though it had been almost 10 years, the woman hadn't aged a day.

"Svetlana Romanova," she drawled, "I thought you escaped. But you are back now." The woman hopped off of the piano stalking toward her. She touched a wisp of Lana's red hair, a wicked smirk forming on her face.

"Madame B," Lana stated. The woman still haunted her nightmares and plagued her memories. Every time she would have an episode she would remember the woman and how she tormented her.

"Oh child, you've grown. Strong. Ballet made you strong. I did, no?" Madame B smiled widely and Lana could smell the smoke and whiskey on her breath.

The door screeched open and a few timid girls entered. They were young, no older than 18 and a few may have been some years younger. It was clear that something had happened the day before, seeing as they all avoided contact with Madame B and tried to make themselves as small as possible.

"Positions!" Madame B screeched. Lana stepped away from the woman, immediately falling back into old habits and placing her feet in the second position. A smirk tugged at Madame B's lips, "Old habit, Svetlana."

"Da."

Madame looked away from her and screeched again, "Positions!"

The girls scampered to get into position.

A pianist took a seat behind the piano and Madame B gave her instructions, "Combination 2."

At the beginning when each girl jins the Red Room they are given a folder on the first day of ballet. Inside has Madame's combinations in minimal detail and all of it must be learnt by the next lesson, which was the next day. So when Madame runs through it she only had to call out a certain combination and everyone should have known it.

Lana slipped into a familiar mindset of perfection as Madame B made the girls do the steps over and over. The older woman stopped them and made them stand on Relevé.

Madame B circled around Lana her cane making a tapping sound along with her high heels. Madame didn't need a cane but she liked it so she could hit the girls with it.

She bent down to look at Lana's legs. She lifted the cane and tapped them. Lana wobbled slightly and the woman smirked, "I thought you were strong Lana but your legs have gotten weak. To much fight with abilities, not actual hand to hand."

Just as she said that Lana saw another girl beside her wobble out of the corner of her eye. Madame B clearly caught it too as the woman moved on. She looked at the young girl who couldn't have been older than 13. Madame B stared at her and the girl stared back at her with wide scared eyes.

"Svetlana," Madame B drawled, "Come over here." Lana stepped down from the pointe and walked toward the teacher and student. Madame B pulled a gun from her pocket and handed it to her, "Kill her."

Lana stared at the black pistol in her hands before the girl's teary eyes. She looked at Madame B, "I said to kill her. Are you hesitating Svetlana? If you don't kill her, I want you to put that gun to your own forehead and kill yourself."

"What's stopping me from killing you?" Lana asked.

"Knowing that if you do, there's no place to run. Your sisters are here and you don't know where. You'd be dead before you even step out the door," Madame B smirked evilly.

Lana cocked the gun and pointed it at the girl. She trembled and started to beg. Lana looked into her eyes before turning the gun on herself and pulling the trigger. She waited for the pain but it never came.

Madame B cackled, "Did you really think I'd give you a loaded gun? You've gotten weak Lana. You don't even remember how the weight is affected by the bullets." Madame B pulled a handgun, showing Lana the bullets in it, "Kill her I mean it this time. And if you don't, maybe just maybe Yelena might suffer."

Lana pointed it at the girl and told herself, that it was for her family. But then her mind drifted to the girl's family and the emotions they would feel if they found out she was dead. She looked away, about to pull the trigger but Madame tutted, pushing her head back to face the girl, "No, no, look into her eyes and do it."

Lana took a deep breath and allowed herself to fall into an emotionless state. Her face went blank as she pulled the trigger and the girl dropped dead onto the ground.

Madame laughed, "There she is. There is the ruthless killer I raised. You can try and change yourself Svetlana, but you'll always be a cold hearted Widow inside. Class dismissed."

Lana shoved the gun into the woman and walked out, not looking back at the pool of blood on the floor, or the blood, splattered across her leotard.
