010.

AS EXPECTED only a few minutes after that, Red Room soldiers had already infiltrated Melina's house. Lana had been knocked unconscious and when she awoke she was in a cell. She stood groggily and looked through the glass, "Well, well, well, if it isn't Svetlana Romanoff."

"Dreykov. I see you've aged. Put on a little weight since the last time I saw you?" Lana chuckled.

Though she was absolutely terrified she tried to put on a brave mask, and it was clear that Dreykov was seeing straight through it.

He spoke to the guard beside him quietly and the glass door to her cell opened with a click. Lana felt a familiar rush of energy and she chuckled, "Power dampening cell. Smart."

"Thank you, come child," Dreykov turned away and started to walk. Lana stared after him not moving. He stopped, "You don't want me to make them force you, do you? You remember how that goes, right?"

Lana frowned at the memory, of the last time she tried to defy the man. He had the guards stab her with electric batons over and over again, and then made her run laps around their base in nothing but a tank top and shorts, with no shoes. By the time Dreykov told her to stop, she was already halfway to hypothermia.

She hesitantly stepped out of the cell and straightened up when she realised the guards stayed put. Dreykov motioned for her to come with him and she walked.

He led her down winding corridors and she stopped as she saw widows training.

Dreykov chuckled, "You remember that, huh?" Lana didn't reply. He grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him, "Words?"

"Da."

"Always follow the rules, Svetlana. You may have left but you're back now. Don't follow the rules, you get punished. Understand?"

"Da."

Dreykov chuckled, "Ah. When you didn't come back from the mission I thought you were dead. I was slightly sad, I had lost my best weapon, but now here you are. You are like my phoenix."

He urged her forward, tearing her eyes from the widows. He ushered her into an elevator, which went up and led to an office. Lana surveyed the room. A large window overlooked the area. Lana looked down to see if she could see the ground but to no avail. Instead, she found that she could see clouds beneath her.

"Do you like it? High up, no?" Dreykov smiled. He leaned against a large desk picking up a glass of swirling brown liquid. He motioned for her to come forward and she complied. He poured her a drink and handed it to her, "Drink. We must celebrate your return. And then we get down to business."

Lana brought the glass to her lips hesitantly and he tapped the bottom encouragingly. She downed it and set the glass on the table silently.

"I now have you back. I have your sisters. But I feel as though I can crack you better. Tell me everything you know about the Avengers," Dreykov brushed past her and sat on a large leather sofa.

"I don't know much, they didn't really trust me," Lana lied.

Dreykov's eyes narrowed, "I thought I taught you better than that Svetlana. You can lie all you want but never lie to me. I will always know. You do remember the punishment for lying don't you."

There were two ways Dreykov liked to punish her. Back when the Red Room was associated with HYDRA, he used to bring in the Winter Soldier, to spar with her. Now, this wasn't that significant. What was, was that he used to drug her first and make the Soldier go full out. By the end, she would be half dead.

The other was by making her kill the weak new recruits. But the thing was that these were children. They were young and naturally weak. Dreykov would have her kill them in the most gruesome ways. And every night after it happened she would crawl into the small cot she called a bed and cry herself to sleep thinking of the innocent faces of the children she had killed that day.

"Da."

"So then you know not to lie to me. It doesn't matter. I'll ask you every day until you do. I have all the time in the world," Dreykov sat back in the chair, "Tomorrow, at first light, you will report to Madame. You will resume your lessons, you will resume your training. Understood?"

"Da."

He stared at her, "Any questions?"

"Nyet," Lana responded. A slither of disgust for the man in front of her weaved its way into her body.

"Dismissed."

Lana turned around and hunched slightly over as memories she had pushed to the far back of her mind came flooding forward as if a dam had broken.
