002.

AS STEVE SAID, they had to move around a bit. They had gone to France and stayed there for a few weeks until someone had spotted them so they had to leave. They now resided in a little cabin in Bulgaria.

The snow was settled and stuck to the ground. Lana had enjoyed it when it snowed. She was in her element when it was cold. She had been surrounded by the cold Russian weather for most of her life so she enjoyed being isolated in the woods. However, they weren't too isolated as they had neighbours about two miles out.

Lana sipped coffee as she watched the snowfall outside. Steve sat on the couch behind her, reading a newspaper.

"Do you want to spar with me later?" Steve asked looking up at her.

"Can we do it in the snow?" Lana asked turning to face him.

"So you can throw it at me, like last time?" Steve chuckled.

Lana looked guilty, "It was one time."

"And one time that'll happen again if I give you the chance," Steve said as she walked toward him. She set the mug on the coffee table and flopped beside him. She made herself comfortable, propping her legs on his.

"You're right," she admitted and he chuckled, "But yeah, I'll spar with you."

Later that day, Lana walked into the basement. She saw Steve by the punching bag. She went towards the mats they had set up and sat on the ground, wrapping her hands.

Steve panted and glanced at her, "Boxing?"

"Normal sparring," Lana shrugged. He came toward her and Lana stood. They circled each other before Steve lunged at her. She dodged his attack and turned to look at him.

They continued for a while before Lana smirked, she lifted her hand and he levitated.

"Lana put me down," Steve scolded.

"You're no fun," she pouted.

"It's not fun being levitated two feet off the ground either," Steve chuckled.

Lana rolled her eyes, "It was one foot don't be dramatic."

"I'm the dramatic one?" Steve questioned playfully causing her to nod, "You saw a spider the other day and begged me to kill it."

"It was large," she defended as she blocked his punch can counteracted it with her own.

The fight continued for a bit until both were sweating. They stopped and Lana sat on the ground, "I definitely didn't miss this feeling."

"What, your lungs and muscles burning? Me too," Steve replied collapsing next to her.

Lana scoffed, "You're a super-soldier."

"So, I still feel pain. Just not as much as the average human," he replied, standing and helping her up.

"I'm showering first," she said quickly.

"Really?" Steve sighed.

"Yep," she jogged up the steps with him behind her.

The night wind howled outside the window. Lana was sleeping peacefully curled beside Steve, both unaware of the window being opened in the kitchen.

The phone on the bedside table rang and Lana groaned, being awoken from her sleep. She rolled over and answered, "Hello?"

"Hi, Lana," Natasha's voice came through.

"Natasha I love you but it's... three in the fucking morning. What do you want?" Lana grumbled.

"When was the last time you spoke to Yelena?" Natasha asked.

Lana rubbed her eyes as she tried to think, "About... just after New York. That was like four years ago. We lost touch."

"She sent me something. And then someone tried to kill me," Natasha said.

Lana sat up, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah but I need your help."

Lana made a face, "Well..."

"Hurry up and get changed, I'm in your living room. Tell Steve I said hi." Natasha hung up and Lana huffed, laying back down.

"Natasha?"

"Yep. She's dragging me to go find my other sister," Lana replied.

Steve threw an arm around her waist and pulled her closer, "Don't leave."

Lana smiled and kissed him, "It'll be a few weeks I promise."

"It better be," he grumbled.

She smiled and got up to change.
